Terrible customer service. Waitress had little knowledge of menu or seafood in general. There were 4 of us and only 3 received meals. 10 minutes later the waitress hadn't even noticed. Restaurant was empty. No excuse. We asked about the missing meal, and she said she was going to check. Then she came out and said 30 minutes. 30 MINUTE wait on the 4th person. Nope, waitress forgot. I have been wanting to try this place since reading some of the reviews not to mention i LOVE a good seafood boil. So I literally went alone and decided to feast like a queen after just receiving my paycheck earlier that day. Anyways, i got 1 pound of the head off shrimp in crazy boil sauce (made it spicy), 1 pound of the crab legs in the crazy boil sauce (spicy again), and the seafood gumbo. Hushpuppies came out complimentary - they were soo hot out of the grease and amazingly good, i couldn't stop myself from eating all 4 even though i knew i had a huge meal coming. It all came out together, the gumbo and the crab and shrimp - which i sorta wish the gumbo came first but either way - EVERYTHING and i mean EVERY SINGLE THING was absolutely amazing. The gumbo.... steaming hot, so many complex flavors - the bits of sausage, chicken, big pieces of shrimp, rice and okra ughhh it was so good i wish i had it again so bad. Ok now onto the real shining star - the seafood. The sauce on it (crazy boil) is SO good - its a combo of all of their flavors, and dipping my crab meat in it was like heaven. This is my favorite spot for cajun style food in town. My gf and I were greeted by very friendly staff whose service was excellent and fast. If I wasn't so busy licking the juices off of my fingers then I would only suggest wet wipes being provided. I shall return before long. read more

You won't be disappointed, this place really surpassed expectations. We got the #1 Combo: (1 lb. of clams and 2 pounds of shrimp) with the Crazy Boil flavor; chose the spicy option. The quality of the food is really nice. The flavors were great and one thing I noticed is the sausage quality. I like my cajun food spicy and my jambalaya with good rice and sausage and so I'm pumped this place was solid and I'll be back to try more. What a welcome addition to the area! I had to try the Cajun fried rice during my first visit and it was .....awesome! Stunning. This spot is astonishing. I was so eager to come here and I was not in any manner frustrated. My server, Tori,(hopefully I spelled her name correctly)was so unfathomably sweet and instructive of how everything functions, it being mine and my life partner's first time there. She was amazing. The best service ever I got there and while were we're waiting for our food I was looking for an outlet to plug in my phone as we arrived just as they opened they guy asked if I would like to use his power bank instead then onto the food and drinks I got the seahorse they let me add lychee jelly to it which was awesome I'm a bubble tea lover so this was great they also gave us our food fast I got the combo #3 but with half shrimp and half crawfish we also got the gumbo it came out fast and food came out all together everything tasted amazing this is a must go place if you haven't been to a boil yet and it's great that it is in state college read more

I use to come here all the time when it was under the old management but since it's new take over not only have the prices been inflated and you get fair less for your money but even the crazy boil sauce it self has changed. The original crazy boil sauce use to be really rich i taste and had a nice kick now it's watered down, the sausage barely cooked all the way thru, the mussels were soft and overly chewy and my crawfish was flavorless. VERY DISAPPOINTED that I paid $32 for food that I couldn't eat. I remember coming here every Friday for 2 straights months just for the sauce but after today I will not be back to waste money here. I've been to CB 3 times since they opened a few months ago. It's a real gem here in State College. The menu is simple and the ordering procedure is really unique to give the diner many options. I love it!! You select your main seafood, then the flavor spice level you like (4 levels from no spice to what would imagine super-duper burn-out spice), then select from 6 sides and other combination dishes. they're all GREAT!! The food is plentiful and very flavorful..... reminds me of Bourbon Street in New Orleans. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. They actually are interested in making sure you are happy with your dish and your dining experience. Only bad thing is it is BYOB. I'd rather they were are allowed to get a liquor license so I wouldn't have to schlep my beer in..... I want CB to make $$ on alcohol drinks to keep them alive for a long time. PA is so pathetic when it comes to alcohol. I'll surely be back for more headless shrimp. read more

Crazy Boil is a great option for seafood in the State College area. It's located in an old eat'n park, but you would never be able to tell by the interior! It has a southern / rustic feel, but it is very plain. I had the shrimp in the crazy boil sauce and it fulfilled my expectations. The crazy boil is a combo of all of the sauces, but it tastes pretty generically cajun to me. You choose your own spice level, too. You can make it similar to a traditional 'boil' experiencing by adding other things, like corn and potatoes, for an up-charge per item. Meals comes with bibs, gloves, and extra napkins for a clean dining experience. Hush puppies also come before you get your meal, but they were cold and the batter was thick and mushy. Our table ordered the crab rangoons as an appetizer, but they did not come out until we got our meals and they had little taste. Food can take a while, and the restaurant was nearly empty when we ordered. Overall, everyone enjoyed the seafood, the establishment could work out some of its kinks and would create for a better dining experience. read more

He was very friendly and seated us at our table. Our waitress was fairly quick to get our drinks but was a bit on the quiet side. The atmosphere is fairly plain but the food makes up for it! We ordered a combo with Shrimp and Crawfish with the crazy boil sauce medium heat. The sauce is awesome. The manager said the sauce is a combination of original crawfish boil seasonings and Vietnamese seasonings. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. The crawfish were good. (a little small on the tails) It came with Potatoes (could use a few more), sausage, corn and a small warm loaf of bread. It came with some complimentary hush puppies which weren't bad. All in all, a good dinner! Be prepared to get messy if you want to eat there. The table is covered with paper and no plates!
