My husband and I visited Crazy Buffet (aka Panda Buffet) in Galesburg, Illinois on a Sunday night, around 7 pm, in late Sept, 2024. The restaurant was scheduled to close at 9 pm; the rest of the neighborhood was already quite sleepy. All of the food that both my husband and I ate was quite tasty, including Asian buffet favorites such as Pepper Chicken; Mongolian beef; crab Rangoon; California sushi; and far more. They also offered some unique and tasty items, such as fried zucchini slices. They also had tubs of creamy and yummy ice cream for dessert. We rate the quality of the food that we ate as 4.5/5.0. However, by 7 pm, the restaurant was already winding down and many of the food trays were already near empty and weren't being replenished so there were many food offerings that we didn't get the chance to try. Our rating for variety is thus only 2/5. Service was okay (3/5). The waitress brought us our requested waters, and checked in once to see if everything was okay. The overall ambiance was of a typical Chinese buffet restaurant, and was maintained well. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. However, staff started to wind down the day at 8 pm, including mopping the floors of the main buffet area, the check-out counter, and restrooms while we were still eating and needing to walk in those areas! It was an hour to closing time! Finally, the restaurant was a good value for all-you-can-eat for $12.99/person at dinner, before tax and tip. We would return but probably earlier in the day to have full access to the variety of food choices and to ensure that we didn't interfere with the cleaning at closing. read more

I've been to this buffet a few times over the years, I live over an hour away but my family and I make the travel once in a while. We decided to come by today after we traveled to Galesburg, but unfortunately a disability I have kicked in upon arrival and I got sick. I didn't eat a single bite of food at the restaurant, I got a soda while the rest of my family got full meals. Well, my dad called the waitress over near the end of everyone else eating to say that I hadn't eaten a single bite; the waitress replied very rudely telling us we were at fault for not telling them I wasn't going to eat before we checked in to the restaurant. Legitimately, I got to the table with my family, didn't sit down, and immediately went to the bathroom and got sick. When she told us we would get charged for my non-meal, my dad responded by saying we'd pay it and we didn't want to argue. She continued multiple times telling us to basically kick rocks. After around ten minutes of my family finishing their meals and deciding the food wasn't worth the treatment, another waitress comes by and takes my "meal" off the ticket, saying something along the lines of "We didn't want to, but management said to not charge you" I didn't have any food, but besides this experience with the staff my family members said the food wasn't nearly as good as it has been years prior. My dad and my partner are usually ones to get multiple plates, but they both only got one and didn't even finish what they got. My dad said there's no way he'd drive as long as we did to have this again, when in the past we would make the trip SPECIFICALLY for this buffet. Nothing else, just for this place. This was a really disappointing experience, and it very much gave "money hungry" vibes. I'd get charging me if I'd eaten ANYTHING. I didn't have a single bite. I hope this was a one-off experience and the staff doesn't act this way with other, worse off customers. read more

I usually sort of enjoy going to the Crazy Buffet, but their food on the buffet tables gets hard and crusty pretty fast. It seems like they don't switch it out like it should be. The fried rice for instance, is almost always dried out and tastes a little weird. When they run out of popular items it takes them forever to notice and refill that items tray. They don't have a very large selection of dishes to choose from either. The prices are good, I just think that they could be doing way better. read more

Ate there and it was garbage. Food was just ok. Staff were rude and acted like we were bothering them. And my son found a little metal ring in his ice cream as well as some hard, unidentifiable object. Told the waitress and she said she wud tell the manager. No one even apologized and still charged us full price although we only ate one plate bc we didn't feel safe. And we hav felt icky ever since!! Will not ever go back!!! read more

We love going to crazy buffet, and it's my 6 year old's favorite restaurant. She even chose to go here for her birthday, mainly because of the delicious sautéed mushrooms. They have a huge selection and there's something for everyone, there's even a few American choices for those who are picky, like macaroni and cheese and pepperoni pizza. They also have a pretty decent sushi selection and the price isn't too shabby either! On top of the fact that the food is great and the staff is super nice, it's a super clean restaurant, with super clean bathrooms with a changing table (which is a big deal to me!) and lovely decor! We go here at least once a month, we love it! read more

Well, it was Monday after Easter, and the bf and I were thinking about heading out to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch...but then we saw Master Stirfry and said, "hey, let's try it out". Perhaps it was the cement foo-dogs at the door of the restaurant, but I had a good feeling about the place, which was bolstered by the koi pond in the foyer. The decor is really nice, lots of attention to detail in the quality of the tile and booths. (I don't normally care much about that kind of thing, so the fact that I mention it is rather significant.) Someone really took some time and care furnishing the place. The music was an interesting mix of Asian pop. Very pleasant. Now this is one of your standard Asian buffet type places with the free drink refills. It's got a cold bar with some of the freshest sushi I've seen in a buffet, and it's not all your standard stuff either. (Tho, I'll admit, most of the sushi rolls incorporated creme cheese, something I don't care for, but realize is very popular with Midwesterners.) There was this one kind that was made of the fried soybean skin pouch, stuffed with seaweed, cucumber and other slightly sweet stuff. Not quite to my taste, but I heartily applaud the fact that I'd never seen it before. (Gotta try that new and different stuff, yanno.) There's also a bar where you can select your items and have the chef cook it up for you. There were only two choices of cooking sauce, but that's not a bad thing. (I was happy with what was on the buffet, so I didn't go with the stir fry.) The food on the steam tables was very fresh and tasty. There was a nice selection of appetiizers, which were nicely fried and not greasy, and even a few dim sum items. Being allergic to pork, I was glad to see that the shumai was chicken and not pork. There was an item I'd not seen before, a piece of shrimp wrapped in a meat dumpling. I was very impressed with the fact that on the stir fry dishes, the veggies were slightly undercooked, which is good because they can finish cooking on the steam table and not get all soggy. All the stirfry dishes I tried were excellent. There was one appetizer that really impressed me, the chicken on skewers. However it was spiced exactly like Peking duck, and so tender that it fooled me into wondering if it wasn't actually duck.(I often forget to read the little labels over the food.) Awesome! I also really liked the spicy chicken with jalepenos in a citrus sauce. YUM. And of course, my favorite buffet dish, the almond string beans, was excellent. Oh yeah, the desert bar had a lot of selections and there was also a freezer with 6 kinds of ice cream! Cons: I was a disappointed in my search for the perfect buffet eggroll. However, the eggrolls, while a bit bland were mostly vegetable and the springrolls had meat in them, which gives the diner a nice choice. The crab rangoon was sweeter than I am accustomed to. Pros: I was astonished at how INEXPENSIVE lunch was. Like as in under $6!!!!! Bear in mind, we went on a Monday just before lunchtime, which is not traditionally a peak time for restaurants. That being the case I found the quality and freshness of the food, coupled with it's extremely reasonable price to be an incredible value! Decent buffet. Pretty standard offerings, nothing spectacular. Have small selection of basic sushi, a Mongolian grill and several bars of random dishes. Place was well kept and clean and the staff was friendly. Overall a good buffet - best I've found in Galesburg. read more

Wow the best Chinese Buffet I have ever been to. They have a Huge selection of always fresh food. Very flavorful and delicious. Above average Chinese buffet. The selection is awesome, plus they have a hibachi grill and sushi. Everything I tasted was full of flavor and fresh. They only had about 8 different sushi rolls but all of them were fresh. I really liked the h&s soup, had 3 bowls of it. THE WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO. I had tried calling before hand to ask and make sure they had sushi and nobody would answer. When i got there, the service was terrible; I was literally ignored. The sushi bar was completely empty other than two stale rolls that had been sitting out. I also had to ask for ginger, as it too was none existent. So they gave me ginger fresh out of the freezer with ice chunks. I had to ask SEVEN times before somebody made me only two vegetable rolls. I ended up sitting an hour waiting to get two rolls! My sister and i stood at the bar, waiting and waiting yet, we were ignored. Everytime we would ask, the lady said "ten more minutes". (I come to these places to dine on nori wraps/vegan sushi and i left still hungry) one of the men refused to make any because he said he didnt know how. This buffet is also the smallest asian buffet i have been too. When we got our fortune cookies they were old. my cookie was like dough. I could bend it like clay. Never going again. read more

Terrible food! Two of my children spent the next day nauseous and unable to eat. Food is obviously prepared under cooked so that if it sits on the buffet too long it will finish cooking. Some of the food was obviously left over from the lunch buffet (crunchy fried rice anyone?), Fish fillets were squishy and soft, chicken was the same. Disgusting and I urge everyone to avoid this place like the plague. I also found out that they were shut down several times by the local health department for violations. BLECH! read more

Love the food, don't like the owners. During Covid we have been going to CB for takeout. They increased their fee so what you pay for to eat-in with a soda, you now pay the same amount to create your own takeout (and this not include a soda). I go once a month or once every 2 months. We pay for the takeout buffet. The problem is the owner and his wife or mother don't really want to you to take any food. THEY WILL WATCH YOU. For the 4 times that we have visited, my husband would get ice cream to go also. He would put ice cream in a small cup and the owners wife/mother would hand him a top. But OUR LAST TIME there, the owner had him throw away the ice cream because he said ice cream was not included in the buffet. On this day, they were also moving around us and so I came to understand that they were monitoring food. That's just rude. Spell your prices out. Spell your services out and be done. read more

Food is real good- I always go to the stirfry area where they cook my food fresh with little salt and sugar content. The waitress was real polite even though she didnt kno a lick of English- She knew exactly what we wanted (somehow?). Food is always real hot- my kids are real picky at what they eat but they love this place for some reason too. Crazybuffet, is HORRIBLE! ALMOST the worst place to eat. Customer service does not exist. (Apparently neither does food) I got charged Full HOLIDAY prices when half of the buffet was empty. I counted 15 empty trays. When I asked to talk to a manager they informed me he was not there. I inform them that they were charging me for goods and services that they did not give me and not only did they not discount anything they still charged me a "Holiday" premium. So their answer to my inquiry as to where the food was that they were charging me for ? 'We are going to close soon'. "Soon" meant an hour from then. So I got the whole 'F#&K YOU PAY ME' answer. Price was about $10 for a dinner meal buffet. Buffet had much better selection than most Chinese places. Even had CRAB LEGS! Great selection and tasted great. We ate the buffet and this was unlike any other Buffet with sushi, seafood and so much more to choose from. The name of this restaurant sounds deterring but once we heard from some friends that the food was pretty good we decided to give it a try. well to start with copied there coupon from facebook..and was pretty much yelled at that it wasnt a coupon she went and yanked a coupon from a fellow diner that had a coupon from newspaper very rude to me and them.advertises steak and hibachi there was no one there to cook that although there was a couple steaks laying out and other stuff for stir fry. they did ask my son if he wanted refill on soda when it was empty never asked me for refill on iced tea when almost empty. the drinks are like 2.50 cost me like 20.50 for a 6.99 buffet and two drinks.. food was decent they advertise steak and crablegs well of course no steak and there was like 10 small crablegs setting in water when i went in and they were still there when i left.. i wont go again..you are crazy if you go to crazy buffet read more
