this is a really difficult review to write because I have been eating here for years and really loved the food and service but in the past year the restaurant either changed hands or changed their focus to the point that I am not sure if they are a middle eastern restaurant, bakery or convenience store! I normally order the shawarma chicken or beef salad, they always give you a very generous serving of meat and the dressing is delicious, but in the past 6 months when I have ordered these salads they have been horrible, neither the chicken or beef are shawarma but more like fine chopped meat cooked on the grill and let's talk about cooked, one side of the beef was cooked the other 100% raw, the chicken is mostly dark meat with fat and gristle really unappetizing......it saddens me to say this but if there was a zero stars I would give it. I absolutely loved the pita bread and garlic sauce it was different and tasted very good. Wasn't a fan of the hummus but everything else was good. My Husband liked his meal also. They have a lot of options to choose from. Veg and non vegetarian. Simple pita sandwiches, falafel, kabobs, rotisserie chicken. I tried this place after craving Mediterranean food reading the reviews. Unfortunately, I did not like the food. The chicken was musty, it wasn't prepared like shawerma and it did not taste like shawerma. The taste was off. I'm unsure if it was a bad batch of chicken or if it was undercooked but my body instantly felt uneasy after eating a few pieces. I had to toss it after a few bites. It's possible that I got food poisoning. I knew something was off when other patrons smelled the chicken after starting their meals. I really wanted to give this place a chance. Counter attitude was very nice. In fairness I only had a falafel. It was awful. Priced at $7.95, it was really salty and soulless. The ingredients were fresh enough I think, except for possibly the pita. Oh that pita! Yuk! I usually give 2 stars for a nice personality employee, but this wrap was just too gross. Also it had completely fallen apart. I do not know why. It was large enough, no complaints there. I ate most of it because I was starving. Upon me asking, they did give me a generous helping of Tahini. I don't believe there was any Hummus in the wrap. It was one of the worst falafel's I have ever had. I ended up biting my tongue because the thing was so salty, so they got some revenge for this review. Of course eating the wrap was some revenge also. Its an easy and fun thing to make. I have had crazy falafel through catering at my workplace and they have very tasty shawarma wraps that I enjoy. However dining in the location they are usually out of stock on all their meats and will only serve rice. Rubbery Chicken! Major disappointment! My wife and I decided to grab the chicken breast plate, and we were both horrified by the chicken as it had not been cooked well. It was really tender and quite literally tasted like rubber. The quality of this establishment has gone down tremendously; consistency is lacking in this business. Pros: Shawarma was decent, good crisp and not dry Salad and hummus both hit the mark The garlic sauce is fantastic, maybe even better than zankou, and they give you a huge portion of it Cons: The fries were honestly terrible, they were soggy and disproportionately cold compared to the rest of the meal. I started eating them immediately in the car and kind of had a "what the f..." moment like why do these taste as if they have sat for thirty minutes already. They didn't even really taste like they would be that good even if they were piping hot. The pita bread is underwhelming and kind of small. Probably would order extra pita if I got the plate again. So basically garlic sauce good French fries bad. I will try this place again and maybe update the review if it's different. I ordered directly from their website and arrived precisely at the pickup time, no part of my meal should have been cold. I was having these strange thoughts while waiting for my Beef Shawarma lunch special plate from Crazy Falafel. I found CF on Yelp and the pictures looked appetizing. I ordered the No. 1 which includes beef shawarma, rice, lettuce, tomato, onions, hummus and a pita. My plate was served quickly and I enjoyed the flavorful aroma. The beef was delicious and cooked perfectly. The rice, hummus and salad were equally tasty. Now the crazy part. Crazy Falafel offers a 'split' menu of Mediterranean and Mexiterrarean. Besides shawarma plates, CF offers a $1.50 taco. What? Que? The menu options are extensive and includes both Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine. I really enjoyed my plate from Crazy Falafel. On the next full-moon visit, I plan to order "Tacos Mexiterranean" to stretch my culinary limits. Crazy Falafel serves twelve reasonably priced lunch specials and the customer service is good. Not worth it whatsoever. My mother and me order the rotisserie chicken wrap and the shish wrap (which they claim is filet mignon). Sooooo bland and flavorless. I guarantee that isn't filet mignon which is weird as to why they would lie about that. Maybe just to hype it up and get more sales I guess. Also it's very expensive, almost $20 for a combo. I been to other Mediterranean places that are way cheaper and taste 10x better. Don't waste ur time as this place is just weak, the food taste so flavorless and you won't be satisfied with it.
