First off, the staff were friendly and nice when taking my order, so I will give this business that! I ordered a small meal and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I was in sort of a rush so I was happy it would be finished quickly. Unfortunately it took over 30 minutes to get my food, and the chicken was burned and sort of bland. I am always looking for another Kebab place. So I journeyed to the Northridge Fashion Mall food court to pay a first time visit to the Kebab Lab. I ordered a carry out of the Lule Kebab Plate. It is a combo dish that comes with two minced beef kebabs, pita, hummus, rice and a cucumber salad. The star of such a dish has to be the Kebab and let me say that it is only a few places that can make a good kebab. This place did a grand job. The kebabs were freshly grilled, juicy and not dry, were cooked right, had the optimum charring and burned taste. If anything, the meat was kind of bland and should have had more seasoning, to boost the flavor. Hummus was nice and silky and the salad was fresh and refreshing. Service was exceptional. A little bummed about this place! Kebabs are really a hit or miss for me. My mom brought this home for us to enjoy for dinner and it just wasn't for me. The rice was okay. Could've been better. By the time she brought it home, the plates they used were really soggy due to the condensation and it was tough to pick up. Basically had to slide it out of the bag and use a new plate. I got a piece of the chicken and a piece of the "beef" and some rice and hummus to enjoy. I started with the chicken which wasn't so bad but definitely needed a lot of hummus for me to eat it since it can get a little dry. I was sad to see they didn't have the garlic butter that a lot of other Mediterranean places have. The beef was a huge disappointment. Not sure if it's a seasoning or what but it did not taste like beef. It tasted like lamb to me and I absolutely cannot stand the flavor of lamb. I was so bummed! Not impressed. Three people behind the counter. I waited 5 minutes until someone acknowledged me. I ordered the salmon plate, no rice. Somehow the guy rang up chicken and beef plate kebab. When I saw the price I knew it was ordered wrong plus the ticket also had the order wrong. When I told the guy, he denied what I ordered. I don't think he understands English. He didn't know how to fix the error. He had to call the manager. He couldn't credit my card, so he gave me $ back. Then I went to sit and wait. All the tables had food remains on them. When the manager noticed how I had scooted away from the table he came and wiped it. So far I've been here 35 minutes for my order. Got my order. It's wrong. I ordered no rice. The plate was full of it. The salmon was grilled, with black char marks. The sign read "Wild caught salmon". Sorry, it was not. The color was too pale for wild caught. In addition the portion was cut too thick for wild caught. And for how much char he put on the salmon, it would have been dry if wild caught. But the tabluli was decent, and the hummus was good. I stopped by Northridge mall this morning and decided I wanted some kebab after seeing this place yesterday when I was also at the mall. When I walked in, the employee working greeted me and I told him I wanted to look at their menu to decide what I wanted. I asked him if I should get the Lule Kebab or Beef Kebab and he told me to go with the Lule Kebab because it's more tender and has more flavor. I went the Lule Kebab plate and he told me it would take about 10 minutes to come out. I also asked him how long this place been open and he told me about 2 months now. They have some seating inside but there not alot of tables so you can take your food to go eat at the food court as well. The place is still new so the inside looks nicely decorated and they also have TV here as well. My food took about 10 minutes to come out and I took it home to eat. My suggestion is to eat your food there because your food will be less tasteful when you get home if you don't live that close. The Lule Kebab was good and I like the shirazi salad, I think it would've been better if I ate it when it came out hot. I didn't really like the rice, I prefer the basmati white rice pilaf and I would say that would make a big difference for me while eating the food. I told the worker that I plan on coming back to try their burger at a later date and he also told me their salmon is good as well. My score: Food: 4 star, I give a 4 star because I wasn't a fan of the rice and would've prefer the basmati white rice pilaf. The shirazi salad and pita bread was good. Service: 5 star, the service I received here when I first walked in was amazing. The worker chatted with me and also give me recommendations as well. Atmosphere: 5 star, the place is cleaned inside and they have TV if you want something to watch while eating. Stopped by the mall to do some shopping and while walking in I saw the Kebab Lab advertising the viral Dubai Chocolate bar. In my way out I stopped by and got the small milk chocolate Dubai bar. Paying with card the bar rounded out to $9 which is a fine price for the size. I've tried the Dubai bar from a different place before and can definitely say the pistachio filling for the one I bought today definitely tastes like more pistachio which I enjoyed. My only complain was the actual milk chocolate shell was too thick and not enough filling. Also they had the chocolates set outside, I would recommend only putting a few out as display and the rest in the fridge that way they're cold when bought. Overall service was good the cashier was nice and the place itself was spacey with a good amount of seating. Pretty busy as well which is good. Only reason I give it a four is due to not enough filling in chocolate. read more

My family and recently tried this place. Overall the food was good. Our order consisted of the gyro fries, chicken kebab plate, and the salmon plate. The portion sizes were decent for the price and the overall flavors were on point. The fries were fresh, the gyro meat wasn't bland or overly salty, and the chicken and salmon were flavorful and moist. My only nitpick would be their rice since I prefer basmati rice over the type they use here. The baklava is really good and I highly recommend trying it. The service was decent, although the salmon took significantly longer to come out than the other two dishes. We finished the fries and chicken by the time the salmon came out. I also overheard another customer mentioning there was a slight error with her order. To be fair, they are still relatively new so they are still ironing out some kinks.
