We(co-workers) used to be regulars at their 15th Ave location before closing. This is the first time in a while we decided to try their downtown location. This establishment is much larger and can accommodate any party size. Large seating area with tables and some booth style seating. The service is just as I remember it, different faces but still friendly and attentive. This brings the stars down and I dislike saying this-it is not the same! Can someone confirm or deny if they changed their gyro recipe? Not a fan and over salted. Such a disappointment after being away from them for a while. We had bigger hopes.

I love Crazy Jim's. Always the best food and their pitas are to die for. Soooo good. I will drive very far for a pita from Crazy Jim's

100% Awful! This place use to be good. Three of us got take out and will absolutely never return. First, my $12.95 vegetarian salad was so disappointing, shredded lettuce topped with semi old baby carrots, a piece of bell pepper, sprinkled mushroom and onions. Don't forget the piece of tomato...it was just a side salad and I was literally hungry after eating it. My second friend also had a chicken salad and was disappointed. But more importantly, my third friend had a salad with chicken and as she ate part of it, discovered a curly hair. Now that's just disgusting. Three out of three of us will not return and we're completely disappointed. We are sad to see Crazy Jim's food go downhill :-(

I am very happy I found this restaurant! Short walk from work and great food. Not happy about the price, $14 and some change for a chicken shawarma pita and a side, no drink. That steep if you ask me. I ordered no onion, add feta and extra tzatziki. Fingers were crossed because of the last place near work that I placed the same order and they got it wrong. The wait wasn't too long. I had plenty of time to eat once I walked back to work. Now moment of truth... I open the box... and I smiled. There is exactly what I ordered! Yes! And they were very generous with that extra tzatziki I requested. Lots of feta, chicken smelled great and looked juicy. I pot on the tzatziki and take my first bite. Delicious! The flavors were all on point! Soft pita, juicy flavorful chicken and that tzatziki was perfect! The pasta salad was really good too. Not much to it but still a lot of flavor. I will definitely return. Thank goodness I found a place near work where I can get a legit chicken shawarma.

    Best salad, burgers and gyro

The best place to eat while in downtown Phoenix M-F 7am to 2pm. Albert the owner is such a gem to everyone who walks in....even knows some of us by name, if you go please let him know Natalie sent you!!

Been to Crazy Jim's before and had to come back while I was in downtown! It's family owned and everyone is super nice from the owners and down to the servers. I love how customer service is top priority and a smile is on everyone's face. The food is wonderful. I ordered the gyros platter and my mom ordered the lemon chicken soup (not pictured). Can I just say wow?! Very yummy. The taziki is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I want to slather it on everything. I was too stuffed to order dessert but I had my eye on the baklava. I'm definitely ordering it next time!

I needed a healthy meal after a hard workout.

I live their Gyro Feta Salad with creamy Greek dressing. It is just the right size for lunch. The service is good and staff are friendly.

In past visits I loved their Asobuco but none was on the menu. That's what I wanted to order. There was free baklava ....wasn't looking for free....went up to the counter to order some. Then was given two out of a bunch of stacked containers behind the register. If I hadn't inquired wouldn't have known. In past visits they always walked around with a tray and offered. This was dry as well..... I do appreciate free but not dry. I was willing to pay. I probably caught them on an off night, business was good which is always a good sign. I'll give them another shot but won't order the Chicken Chips.

Everything was very good, and the sauce on the pizza was especially excellent. Service was good -- not great, but good. The DJ actually added some nice ambience to the place and gave the restaurant a good vibe. Now here's my problem. This is a BIG restaurant. I'm not talking about some tiny little neighborhood place where they have to squeeze every table into every corner. Yet somehow, they sat the four of us right next to the server computer station, where the staff is constantly coming and going, punching in checks, picking things up, walking back and forth -- the whole time you're trying to eat dinner. And to make it worse, that table is close to the front door. This is Arizona. Every time that door opens, you get a blast of heat. I can only imagine in colder weather you'd get the opposite problem. I've been around restaurants a long time, and some tables just shouldn't be tables. That's one of them. I understand nobody wants to give up a four-top, but in a restaurant that size, come on. Move the table or get rid of it. The guest experience should be worth more than squeezing in four extra seats. The food absolutely deserves a return visit. Just do yourself a favor if they try to seat you by that computer station near the front door, ask for another table.

Every detail you notice is extravagant and purposeful. Visiting on a Saturday for lunch, there were plenty of other families eating together too. I noticed the crowd was mostly older, which lets you know this restaurant is a true staple in the community (I find that usually the old people know what's up). As all 4 of us weren't super hungry, we split the Persian Room Special- Combination of barg (Filet mignon), chicken filet and Koobideh kebab, served with basmati rice and grilled tomato. It was a huge portion of food, served on a large silver platter. The menu states that it serves 2, but it perfectly filled us 4 adults! Granted, we weren't super hungry to begin with, but 2 is definitely an underestimate. I'd say it can easily satisfy 3 hungry adults. Anyway, quantity aside, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Everything was so flavorful and paired well together. The meat was also juicy. My favorite was the koobideh kebab for sure. There isn't much more I can say, as the food speaks for itself. The Persian Room is definitely something you need to try for yourself. Weeks later, I'm still craving it and will definitely be back!

While the remaining food tasted great, the discovery left me feeling grossed out for the remainder of the meal. Overall, the atmosphere and flavors are excellent, but the hygiene slip brings my rating down to 3/5 stars

I'd been here several times years ago, and after coming back, I'm honestly wondering why I don't eat here more often. I ordered the chicken shawarma, a stuffed grape leaves platter, and hot tea. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and wrapped with the classic toppings, and the portion was fair for the price. Speaking of price, the value here is honestly hard to beat. The stuffed grape leaves platter came with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and hot stuffed grape leaves. I had completely forgotten they serve them warm, and my brain needed a minute to recalibrate because I'm so used to cold dolmas everywhere else. Once I took a bite, though... yep. That's how they're supposed to taste. Soft, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I ended up adding some of the hummus and tabbouleh to my shawarma, which made an already great sandwich even better. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server was genuinely kind, gave me a few extra minutes when I couldn't decide, checked in without hovering, and even offered to package my hot tea to go when he noticed I was still working on it. (For the record, ordering an entire pot of tea for one person was an ambitious life choice on my part.) The dining room isn't huge, and there's also a small market attached, which adds to the charm. This place reminds me that consistency is underrated. Years later, I came back, and it was just as good as I remembered. Great food, great service, great value.
