Egg salad sandwich was pretty filling!

This little sandwich place is a 3 minute walk away for me and always a good eat. The shop sits in the lobby of an office building on Central Ave, so if you are in the area and need a quick lunch, stop by! They create classic sandwiches that come with chips and a pickle spear. This is always a good lunch choice with my work group. They also sell salads, energy drinks, tea, breakfast burritos, soup, etc.

Ooh, I get to be the first review. I just discovered this sandwich place in the lobby of the building next door to my office building. My understanding is it hasn't been here that long. Mahon's is focused on this location and got out of the Camelback/19th Avenue area. It's a nice change of pace from the cafeteria in my building where they have wraps and burgers. This is just simple, "what you see is what you get" sandwiches at very reasonable prices. I was happy to see that they offered a Reuben. Even though I knew I was basically eating a pile of salt, I still enjoyed the pastrami with the saukraut. You have your choice of potato salad or a bag of chips as a side. The guys that run the place were very nice and outgoing. I look forward to trying some of the other items on their menu. I'm just happy to have another convenient lunch option.

They couldn't find my order and I couldn't get any information on my phone. I decided to reorder and told them I would just dispute the charges if there was a double charge. They offered to give me the sandwich for free but I said no. They rang me up with a $3 coupon and quickly made my sandwich. When I got home I looked at my computer and it appears the order didn't submit after all. It was all my mistake, but the team at Ike's was so nice and went out of there way when I was there. We just don't see a lot of good customer service anymore and especially in fast food. I appreciate the small acts of kindness.

As I was doing so, I heard someone repeatedly yelling "Ma'am, ma'am" from across the restaurant. When I looked up, an employee at the far end of the restaurant continued calling out to me. After I acknowledged her, she loudly stated that I needed to read the receipt because there was a second bag included with my order, adding that they did not want me "calling up here complaining" that I had not received everything. What was most upsetting was not being informed that there was a second bag, but rather the manner in which it was handled. The employee shouted across the restaurant in a way that drew attention from other customers, and the comment about me potentially calling to complain felt unnecessary and disrespectful. I was embarrassed, and everyone nearby appeared to be watching the interaction. Had someone simply approached me or politely informed me that there was another bag, I would have appreciated the assistance. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed and shocked by how I was treated over what was clearly an honest mistake.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Cheba Hut is a cannabis-themed sub shop eatery, and parking ended up being manageable. The place was very busy when I arrived, so I grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender was clearly juggling a lot but stayed friendly and personable. The place was super clean, and I immediately loved the laid-back neighborhood vibe near Roosevelt Row. I ordered the French dip sub along with a munchie- pretzel nugs. Cheba offers three sandwich sizes (Nug, Pinner, and Blunt), which makes ordering easy depending on your appetite. Everything came out fresh and flavorful, and the pretzel mugs were especially good, soft and salty, Parking here is a little more limited than some other locations, but overall I really enjoyed my first visit and was happy to learn there are multiple Cheba Hut locations around town. I'll definitely be back.

Thank you unofficial yelpees for the later raid since I am so clueless lately. I needed this getaway from being a plain Jane. Even though I got the regular burger my life was so complete when they told me you could get these things as a salad too and I was late to the game so I had to go back and ask them to change it and they STILL gave it to me!!! And then they ended up giving me a sandwich with no charge because I guess they forgot and I had wanted to try the Kona bun so badly but I never got the chance to since they were out. Honestly that makes me sad but it gives me another reason to go back. Also...must get the Fresno sauce. Never going back to just hot hon or simple. I need both Fresno and the original on the regular. I need need need it. ‍‍‍ I honestly didn't have much room for the ube tres leches by the time I devoured the freebie burger bc I was so starved and also excited. My yelpies can attest that I sounded like I won the lottery when they called my name for the second order as well with my cake but honestly I had to eat the whole burger cus it's been so so long since I've had a burger and I had to recreate the Kate Hudson scene from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I read that their parking lot fills up quickly but that there's a public lot across the street, so I parked there and crossed over. This cozy restaurant was fairly busy and we perused the pastry case while waiting in line, lots of tempting treats. My friend ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes which are topped with blueberries. A lot of their menu items have pork in it, but they were good about substituting. The burrito usually has schreiners chorizo, hash browns, cheddar, sunny egg and chili oil with side of salsa verde. I asked for avocado instead of the chorizo. We brought our own drinks so didn't order any. We grabbed a table on their patio since the sun wasn't over our heads yet. It's nice out there and I think they have some fans going to keep the air flowing, and there was also a natural breeze. Our food came out and they were plated beautifully. My burrito looked good, but it had too much hashbrowns and also there wasn't any chili oil, which was a bummer. Maybe they normally put it on the chorizo so they forgot to add it to my avocado. The egg was runny which I like: The salsa verde was delicious; I love cilantro and it had great flavors. I tried the pancakes and they were fairly rich but I liked the tart lemon flavor and the blueberries, one of my favorite fruits. This is a nice place to meet up (small groups) and I'm glad I visited again.
