    VOLCANO ROLL

This was probably my most disappointing sushi experience ever, and yes, it was takeout. I ordered two rolls and a piece of sushi. I will admit, I had high expectations because of the reviews. Living in LA, I am learning the hard way that reviews are not always the move. I eat a lot of sushi, from cheap spots to high-end places, so I know what I am talking about. One roll I always order no matter what is the volcano roll. If it is on the menu, I am getting it. Unfortunately, this was the worst volcano roll I have ever had. The portion was basically a four-piece cut in half and it was almost twenty dollars. The inside tasted extremely fishy and just cheap overall. Maybe it was an off day, but it was not good. I also ordered salmon belly sushi, and this is where the quality really showed. It had a bad aftertaste I have only experienced at very low-end sushi spots. That was a big red flag for me. The Blossom roll was fine. Not terrible, not great. It just made me regret spending the money when I could have gone somewhere else. Since this was takeout, I cannot speak on the dine-in experience, but based on the food alone, I would not come back.

Crazy rock n sushi doesn't let you down! Food is great quality and the atmosphere is nice. They served us our rolls almost immediately! The rolls came out faster than appetizers but there was no complaints with it. Jay was very helpful and attentive. Great sushi spot better than others in the area

This is one of my OG sushi spots from when I first moved to Hollywood years ago. Their menu has evolved overtime, and I hadn't been by in a while so it was WAAAYYY overdue. FOOD I ordered the Captain America which has some of my favorites in it sushiwise including crawfish and eel. My server did give me a heads up there was spicy tuna inside which turned out to be fairly mild. I loved the portion size, it was worth the price point for the meal. I'd definitely do it again SERVICE 5/5 Ara was very helpful and greeted me as soon as I came in. Even though I was ordering to go, she offered for me to sit at a table as if I was dining in, which was nice so I could comfortably check out the menu and get a similar experience to dining in. AMBIANCE I hadn't been here in so long I got to checkout their new menu, and the decor was very cute and festive for the holidays. The staff were attentive and happy to help. There was moody lighting and chill music playing. It's a comfortable environment. I'd be happy coming here to meet up with friends or even for a solo date. HONORABLE MENTION There is seating at the sushi bar where you can watch them make the sushi up close. I'll definitely be coming back to try some more great food, and even check out some of their deals!

Sushi was amazing the rolls were big i usually need two rolls to feel full but one was enough and i loved the environment not too much light and mot too dim just enough to have a nice vibe for dinner and sharon was the best so sweet i cant wait to recommend this and bring my friends

We came here on a whim since there was a pop near by! Luckily it wasn't crowded at all and you didn't need a reservation at the time. It's a cute small sushi place with authentic look to it! Amber lighting: my favorite ! They give you complimentary nuts and they do ask if you have any allergies, which I thought was cool. We started off with soju cocktails. I got strawberry and my friend got the berries. It was good. Not too strong $9 I opted for the Fatty toro and Uni don bowl. It was a feast! It came with pickled asparagus onions, nori to use as a dipping thing and a fruit cup! $28 (I think) Oh and of course I got an oyster shot. Our waitress was friendly and bubbly. She helped us with our many questions

Can for a birthday lunch and was very impressed with the place! Incredibly attentive servers with a large menu and equally big portion sizes! Everything was made super fresh, and I was incredibly impressed by how thick they sliced the sashimi. The chicken teriyaki was also much higher quality than most places, coming with this beautiful presentation. The waitress was careful to make sure that I liked everything that was included in each dish, which was a nice touch.

The food at this restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the servers were so friendly. Next time, I'd love to try the dishes I didn't get to have today. Luis and Ara were truly the best servers -- hope to see you again!

Wanted to give a quick update about this restaurant. It has been a favorite go-to as the quality of fish is excellent and the selection or rolls and sashimi seems unlimited. We usually don't have to wait very long to be seated, granted it's just for 2 ppl on a weekday, the weekend is probably busier. The service has been consistently wonderful and we always look forward to our next visit.

The intimate atmosphere, beautiful presentation, and focus on fresh hand rolls and yakitori make the whole experience feel special from the moment you sit down. Everything we tried was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. We especially loved watching the hand rolls being made right in front of us and enjoying them immediately--the simplicity, quality of the ingredients, and attention to detail really stand out. A HUGE shout-out to Chris, who took amazing care of us all night. His energy, knowledge, and hospitality made us feel so welcome and turned a great dinner into an even better experience. And a very special shout-out to Chef Ayden! You can really see the passion and craftsmanship behind every dish. Thank you for taking us through the experience and making our night so memorable. Beautiful atmosphere, incredible Japanese food, and most importantly, wonderful people behind it all. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended! Definitely a good spot for a date night. I was craving some yakitori, so we ordered a bunch of different ones including Negima, Gizzard, Tsukune, Wings, Chicken Thigh, Liver, Hearts, and Cartilage. All the yakitori was cooked to order and everything came out really good. We also had the Hokkaido Scallops & Sweet Shrimp Crudo, which was delicious. For sushi, I ordered some nigiri including Scallop, Salmon Belly, Bluefin Toro, and Kanpachi, plus the King Tuna Roll. I have to say everything tasted pretty good. I honestly came in thinking it was going to be just okay, but I was pleasantly surprised and ended up really enjoying everything we ordered. Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice and intimate. I'd definitely come back, especially for the yakitori. Great little spot for a date night if you're around The Grove.

Interesting experience to say the least…read more Came on a Saturday night off the whim and was seated right away. There's indoor and outdoor. Outdoor consists of the sidewalk & a sectioned off patio section. I liked the dark ambiance, it felt very romantic. The lighting was very intimate. A waitress came, got our drink orders and we ordered the duck breast as an appetizer. We got our drinks, which the tall glass is very misleading as I felt like I barely sipped anything and it was GONE, lol. I ordered the watermelon drink and it was tasty, I just wanted watermelon water anyways. It came with a watermelon slice which was nice. After the drinks we were WAITING idk how long until a different waitress came and took our order ?? We put in our entree, received them & never got our appetizer. We were waiting a long time for someone else to come by. I ordered the seared kanpachi jalapeño roll, which 10/10!! it was flavorful, had the spice & felt fresh. I didn't have to add anything like soy sauce to it. I just eat all my sushi with ginger and it paired great with it. Finally someone showed up & we said we ordered a duck breast appetizer with the first waitress, which was never put in. So the second waitress went ahead and put it in. The duck breast has an interesting texture. I can't explain it. I did not like the texture. The flavor was fine but the texture really threw me off personally. Kind of reminded me of pâté cat food, it felt like how paté cat food looks if that makes sense. Texture wise. Overall, service was trash. The waitresses were both unfriendly, but I guess that's just LA customer service nowadays. We waited forever. Spent more time waiting rather than eating. Valet or street metered parking. Restrooms in the back, 2 single unisex stalls.
