    Few of their daily specials!
    Elaine L.

Sushi Fumi is hands down one of the best sushi spots in LA. Huge fan of their lunch specials, and they have a wide selection of daily specials as well. They open at 12PM then again at 5:30PM, recommend getting there before they open so that you don't have to wait too long. It's walk-in only and since it's a small spot, it fills up very quick! Service is great and very quick as well.

We saw the line so decided to join the queue and it was pretty good! Since we came around opening, there wasn't really a long wait time. The inside is packed but service was attentive -- they came by often to check up on us and refill water. The fish is fresh and vibrant, but they put way too sauce on some of the nigiri we got which took away from the taste. Prices are a little on the expensive side, so I recommend trying it out! We got: - spicy tuna crispy rice ($16): rly good! tuna was fresh and rice was the perfect amount of crunch - tuna lemon ($22): a little too much cilantro sauce, would order another roll next time - baby yellowtail ($8): rly good! i think they did sneak wasabi under the fish though which caught us by surprise lol - eel ($8): perfect amount of sweetness! - salmon w yuzu pepper: too much sauce; super fresh but the sauce on top was too overwhelming - toro (mp / $18): i hate it when it's priced at mp but unfortunately it was rly good and fresh, just again a little too much sauce on it ):

As a foodie and passionate sushi lover this spot is a hidden gem. Some of the best sushi I've had, apparently Kim Kardashian is a fan too... fresh, tasty, and amazing service! It gets packed- I believe they open during certain hours, get there when they open if you can! Very much worth it and the line tends to go by first... not sure reservations are accepted. Great and cozy ambiance and amazing service!

This place was insanely good like one of the best sushi spots ever. They don't take reservations but we went on a Monday (a little on the later side( and the wait wasn't bad at all. I think the hype is definitely worth it. The fish was so fresh and everything tasted soooo good. The nigiri & sushi were my fav. We started with miso soup which hit the spot. We shared seared albacore belly, yellowtail jalapeño, spicy tuna crispy rice, salmon sushi, snapper sushi, toro with scallion cut roll, and one other sushi I can't remember the name but it was sooo yummy!!! Everything practically melts in your mouth and the service was also very quick! The vibe is like a typical sushi restaurant - we sat at the bar so we were in and out fast. I wanna go back already!

you've read the reviews...you've seen the line. yes, the sushi's worth it. servers are efficient, but you definitely aren't here FOR the service. Advocate for yourself when waiting for a table, don't go too far and be ready for the call! Inside isn't "cute" & they pack people in there but it's understandable because the food is so good! everything we got was amazing. if I had to have one critique on the good..I wish the tuna lemon and Philadelphia roll had more sauce!

Yes, this place lives up to the hype!! I always see a line for dinner so I decided to stop by for lunch. I showed up about 20 minutes before they opened and I was the first in line, but by the time they opened, at least 20 people were waiting and the restaurant was packed immediately. Service is so great from all the staff and I loved the hospitality from everyone! The sushi is absolutely delicious and isn't drenched in sauce or overdone with nonsense ingredients. Everything is balanced and served just right! I loved all the nigiri but the toro was outstanding and the seared toro was simply mind blowing. The texture was heavenly! I liked that the chef offered to make the sea perch order with both raw and seared since both were on the menu! I didn't have a preference and let him know to serve me whichever he chose, and he did both, awesome! The unagi too was some of the best I've had in LA, thick and fatty but charred so well and melted in my mouth. I can't wait to come back!

Sushi Fumi is the best sushi in LA, and I absolutely stand on that. The truffle toro here is hands down the best toro I've ever had--rich, buttery, perfectly balanced, and unforgettable. The truffle scottish salmon sushi is also amazing, and every piece of sashimi is extremely fresh. The rolls are great, and the spicy tuna crispy rice is amazing-- but the real main show is the sashimi and nigiri. The hamachi yellowtail with jalapeño is phenomenal, & same for the albacore crispy onion. try the hamachi yellowtail as a hand roll, it's so good. popcorn shrimp is also so good. But I will constantly come back just for their toro alone. the service is fast and excellent, and honestly, anything you order here will be top-notch. Restaurant is kind of a small hole in the wall type place. No notes.

10/10, 10/10!!!!! We stopped by on a Friday around 7ish there was a 45-1hr wait. I have never heard of this spot before but I was craving some really good sushi. This place didn't fall an inch short of my expectations. The sashimi was sooo fresh - I didn't take pictures of everything we ordered, but all of the sashimi was fresh and flavorful. We ordered about 6-8 plates ? I believe when the sushi chef saw that we were getting full (we sat at the bar) he was friendly enough to ask if if we were ready for our 3 rolls lol so I said we would take 1 out of the 3 and cancel the other two. It is a very loud environment. They do not take reservations so first come first serve. Staff is friendly and fast. It is worth the wait for a table; I'll definitely return for more.

i'm giving this five stars because the sushi was phenomenal melt in your mouth!!! toro with jalapeño cilantro & truffle ponzu sauce is a MUST ORDER! i need to come back here. the line can get long but so worth it. the chefs are kind and very quick. the ambiance is fine, it's a bit noisy, and could be more spacious. sushi is worth it.

Come here for the sushi, the sushi, the sushi! Delectable rolls and the freshest most umami sashimi. Daily rotation of high quality fish. Gorgeous plating with the most delicate notes of yuzu, miso, togarashi etc. Everything here is next level. The handrolls are exquisite. The uni is buttery goodness that you need to eat slowly and relish. Small but swanky interior with impeccable service. There will be a long line in the evening so I prefer lunch. Once you go you won't resist coming back, maybe on the very next day!

Love love loveeeee Sushi Fumi. So much so that I returned 4 consecutive weeks after my first visit haha. My go to items are the miso eggplant, crispy rice with spicy tuna, yellowtail w/ jalapeño sushi, salmon w/truffle oil sushi, seared albacore belly w/ garlic chips, and the baked black cod w/ miso sushi. The vibe is chill, the fish is fresh, service is always great, and the sushi chefs are amazing!

I recently came here on a date and had a great time. It was really busy. We ended up waiting outside on a Saturday night for at least 30 minutes. Almost left, but we were able to get a table. the ambience is nothing special, its more of a casual eatery. But the star of the show was the food. I ordered the Unagi V Uni, the baked cod, the scallops, the toro tartar, the yellowtail, and the spicy tuna over crispy rice, and the monk fish, liver, ankimo. Every dish was delicious. My favorite was the truffle Toro and the bake cod. The dishes came out pretty quick and the waiter was efficient on refilling our drinks.

My new fav sushi spot!! This place is a 10/10. All the rolls and flavors differ significantly from all the other sushi restaurants in Los Angeles that I have been too. The food melts in your mouth and overall it's incredible. There is a waitlist and you do have to wait outside depending on our busy they are but it's worth it. The moon roll, truffle toro, cucumber salad, Tuna Lemon Roll were my top favorites!

At 6pm, we were only 1 of 2 parties; by 7:30pm, all the inside & outdoor patio tables were filled except for a couple. Instead of the traditional nori typically used for handrolls, they served a salted, crispy version. While some diners may enjoy the added texture, it wasn't quite for me. It reminded me of the seasoned seaweed used in Korean kimbap--similar to what I buy at Costco and use at home--which took away from the experience I expect from a classic handroll. The fish itself was fresh and above average, especially considering the lunch special pricing. Overall, it was a solid meal, but if I order this again, I would definitely request traditional nori to better complement the quality of the fish.
