Crazy Susan's makes a very good quality cookie. I enjoyed my food very much 5 star quality n taste. Best cookies I've ever had hands down. Susan's cookies really made my week at the beach. However they are a little pricy. I bought 4 cookies for 13 dollars which is a lot of moneys, but it was definitely worth it. I highly recommend these cookies because they are yummy in my tummy. Especially the oatmeal raisin and everything cookie which is what I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed. Bring your kids in to crazy Susan's for a great quick snack or even a delicious dessert. A vendor of mine sends us a large box of Crazy Susan's cookies for the holidays. Some of these crazy cookies look, well, crazy. Some have broken candy bar pieces on them, like kit-kat, snickers, york peppermint patty, and many others. They look so special. Sadly, I just don't think the cookie is anything amazing. Perhaps I need to get a fresh cookie at their store, but I just don't know. My wife microwaved one of the cookies for ten seconds this year and really brought it back to life. From reading your reviews, I feel like I really do have to go there in person. Maybe knowing Crazy Susan would make me enjoy the cookies better? Sort of like how people prefer Pepsi in a blind taste test, but Coke outsells them because the Coke brand spends so much more time advertising pleasant feelings. You see the Coke name and you buy it, even though you would enjoy the taste of Pepsi more... I still prefer Coke, so perhaps this trick will work on me. In the past, I scraped off all of the candy toppings and just ate that. It was good when I totally omitted all cookie, but that's because it is candy I'm familiar with. read more

The only thing crazy about Susan's cookies are the prices. I don't mind overpaying for quality but these were just pure sugar. They had no actual cookie flavor, just gritty sugar barely held together. The cookies have the consistency of packed sand. If you typically wash every meal down with a big gulp soda and don't mind spending $20 on 7 cookies, you might like these. I tried just one almond joy cookie (to the tune of $2), which was certainly good but really only because almond, coconut and chocolate taste good together, no matter what you do. The cookie did have a pleasant homemade shape, flavor, and texture, but along with that came a little grittiness from the sugar that I'd expect only from an amateur cook. Came here late one night for a sugar craving. My wife called at 8:50pm to see what time they were open too, she said 9:00. Susan was awesome enough to say she would stay open until I arrived. I got there around 9:00 and proceeded to take my time to figure out which goodies we wanted. Susan was a sweetheart and was very friendly. I felt bad for keeping her late as my wife never answered her phone when I was calling her to see what she wanted. I didn't leave here until 9:10pm and felt bad for holding her up. It was nice to see a business owner take such pride in their craft. She even threw in a complimentary brownie, which we have yet to tackle. I purchased the peanut butter/fluff cookie, a few craisen/white chocolate and blueberry something. Didn't try anything but the peanut butter/fluff and man that ish was off the chain. Would definitely come back here, as far as the prices go, yes she is a little more on the expensive side, however, you get what you pay for. I have watched "Tough Cookies" a couple time on food network. So, of course I wanted to try their cookies. My bf was in Ocean City this week and nice enough to drag home 1/2 dozen cookies for us to try. He got us the S'mores, White Chocolate Macademia, Oatmeal Walnut Chocolate Chip, Cranberry White Chocolate, Oatmeal Raisin and the Almond Joy. I am a summer regular in Ocean City and I have watched multiple episodes of "Tough Cookies" on the Food Network, so I couldn't wait to try this out. I am amazed at how disappointing the experience was. I had the cereal cookie and my wife had the Almond Joy cookie. Both of our cookies were soft, but not in a cooked cookie way but in a cookie dough way; it felt very undercooked. At the same time, both cookies were very grainy, suggesting that the dry ingredients were not well mixed with the wet ones. My cookie had a sweet glaze on it, which made it more palatable. The cookies were priced $3 for one or $5 for two. For that I expected a gourmet cookie, not an undercooked, under-mixed one. I visited the boardwalk stall and I am shocked at the state of disrepair. The left was was made out of unpainted plywood, which almost covered the space between it and the next stall. Several ceiling tiles were also missing for the back of the store. Ocean City boardwalk stores generally are kept clean and tidy, this stall was in the worst shape of any operating business I have seen up there. Given the show on the Food Network, this business has a unique opportunity to get people in the door to try their product. It is a shame that they squander that opportunity with such a poor product. read more

Let me get this review up before this place blows up on Food Network tonight. I give it four stars because they are not quite as good as Levain Bakery on the Upper West Side. Having said that, they are pretty damn good. I have had the chocolate chip, turtle, lemon and blueberry. All are pretty good. I don't much like lemon desserts and I liked this cookie. The blueberry has a great blueberry pie taste. I hope the lines don't get too long with the Food Network show and all. They are a great treat in OC. read more

Crazy Susan's is a must for my family and I every time we come to OC. Family owned and operated. Great family vibes. Cookies are something special and unlike anything else in the area. Our favs are the blueberry cobbler, sugar cookie with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles, chocolate dipped chocolate chip and cookies and cream. While in Ocean City, NJ for my vacation I decided to go visit Crazy Susan's. Yes I saw them on the food network so why not. They must be fairly new to the OC because I have been coming to this locale for years and never heard of them. So we strolled on over to the cookie shop. When I walked in the first thing I noticed is how damn small this place is. Where do you even fit a camera crew??? That had a pretty good assortment of cookies. The only way you can test the true medal of a cookie place is through their chocolate chip cookie. The oooooold go to. I got 3 cookies. They are average size cookies, but they are thick. The lady at the counter was very nice, however when she told me 7 bucks for 3 cookies, I was like excuse me??? Oh well I guess it's the price you pay for their fame. Snagged my cookies and went outside where they had 1 table and 2 chairs and decided to jam on my bounty. The cookie was good, soft and chewy just how they should be. 3 bites and I just consumed a $2.33 cookie. The cookie was good but I don't know if it was worth the cost. All in all if you want to try their cookies go ahead, but they carry a hefty price tag! I would take Brown's Doughnuts any day over these cookies! read more

Not only does Susan bake the BEST cookies and offer the greatest variety and taste of cookies, but she and her family and staff have the biggest hearts and are so warm, welcoming, and accommodating . We've watched her on the Food Network, have been to both stores (one on the boards which has sadly closed and one on West), and visit each time we are in OC. She's got something for every taste and does offer gluten free options. YUM! We had almost 10 lbs of cookies for a 50th wedding anniversary we hosted. Each and every cookie was delicious. There were over 10 different kinds of cookies and each one was homemade and delicious. Some had peppermint patties, Twix, coconut, etc. There was not ONE cookie left on the tray! Crazy Susan's has two locations in Ocean City -- one on the boardwalk, and one on West Avenue (this is where most of the baking and TV show filming seem to take place). My husband and I were on vacation last week and while we were in OC (in the drizzle) we decided to check out the shop and get some cookies. I have to agree with the other reviewers who also mentioned the grainy, dry, seemingly "undercooked" texture of the cookies. We got two chocolate chip cookies that were not warm or soft -- more like "sandy" textured. The oatmeal raisin with walnut cookie I ordered was deemed to be too "old" to sell. The young lady told me that while their regular cookies stayed fresh for up to three days, the oatmeal cookies only stayed fresh for about a day (so why was a whole tray sitting in the case at approximately noon?) She did give me two of the "old" cookies at no charge. My husband and I each took about two bites of the chocolate chip cookies once we got back in the car, and decided they weren't good enough to keep eating....... As my husband said, he's had better Otis Spunkmeyer cookies! I normally am not much of a complainer, but these were NOT good cookies. They make Mrs. Fields look like a goddess in comparison! read more
