Let me start off by saying, the donuts that they do have are delicious. But I don't know if I'll try to go back there again. They opened the store over 15 minutes late, and finally after waiting 30 minutes we get to the front just to find out they are out of the 3 things we came to the store for. Tried these twice during our week in OC, they are so good. The cream filled are absolutely amazing (they are not so much filled but rather split and stuffed). The glazed were also delicious. Word of warning, their hours are 0730-1230 (not 0700-1200 as found all over the internet), and there often will be a line. I wasn't the only one to show up 30-40 mins early (as quite a few locals did too). Excellent donuts made up for the discrepancy of hours. read more

We got to Cathy's shortly before they opened on Sunday and waited in line for a few minutes (they only let 2 groups in the store at once). Definitely worth the wait! I have been trying all of the doughnuts in Ocean City, NJ and these definitely make the list. They are definitely more of a classic bakery style fried doughnut that reminds of dunkin donuts over fancy doughnuts. However, they were hot and fresh and should not be overlooked! We got one of their cream-filled sandwich-style doughnuts that seem to be what they are known for. Very rich but they are soooo good. The sticky buns were good too but the cheese danish is nothing special. I would stick to doughnuts and cupcakes. That seems to be their forté. Will definitely be back when I am hungry for doughnuts!!! read more

We get up at 6:30 to be first in line for when Cathy's opens... and we leave with a dozen cream filled donuts and a few bonus goodies to take back to share with the family. Its a family tradition imbedded in the family tradition vacation. This year we did this twice in one week because we needed more of Cathys amazing treats. This bakery is an annual tradition for us. Each year we get the chocolate dipped donuts with cream filling. A few years ago though, we were informed they needed to be special ordered the day before which we do now via phone. The donuts are fresh and we loved that today when we picked them up they were still hot! They are buttery and they just melt in your mouth. The donuts are very good here, and every time I come down I make sure to get these. The reason why I am giving it a 3 star review though, is because their service is pretty bad. The store never has ANY donuts. A ton of people love to go there, but the staff cannot keep up with making them, which causes very many unhappy customers. Without a doubt BEST yeast donuts at Ocean City. If they're open, don't go anywhere else for yeast donuts (so many good cake donuts at OCNJ). Every time they are as fresh as can be. The dough quality is light and fluffy with that perfect little bit of crispness to the outside of the bake. Her powdered cream donut is unbelievable. GET IT! Everything else we've had has also been great. 5 stars for flavor and for pleasant service. However, the hours are so disappointing. Too many days closed in mid June year after year. However- the attitude of the owner and customers are not the politest and we have had some problems with them in the past.
