Food on a stick! As I have previously noted, Chinese food is not one of my favourites. Crazy Wings has a bit of an edge though, the edge taking the form of a pointed stick.
"Beijing old village street food" is exactly the kind of thing that appeals to me so my mother & I decided to give it a go and ordered $45 worth of dishes to share (this place is fairly cheap so that's a lotta food).
Spring pancakes were delicious but pretty oily- as is often the case with them unfortunately. The food was all lightly spiced and tasty and the cucumber salad was amazing, but by the time I got to the Crazy Eggplant after potatoes, garlic and the pancakes, I felt like I'd drunk half a cup of oil. Shame because if they did these dishes without oil or at least drained/blotted them afterwards they'd be amazing.
Take paper towels for blotting and I'm sure the eggplant is delicious if you wring it out, but do it over a cup to avoid an oil slick on your table... read more
