It had been a while since my last visit -- and I was pleasantly surprised by how much the place has changed. The interior looks great, and the new ordering process with the self-service kiosk is super smooth. You just order, grab a seat, and wait to be called. We ordered the Bagel Breakfast Sandwich, Everything Croissant, Honey Cream Cold Brew, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie. I was tempted to try the coffee because it looked so good but decided to stick with the smoothie. Funny enough, while sitting down, one of the staff (possibly the owner) mentioned how great it is to add a cold brew shot to the smoothie. A few moments later, he came out and actually brought one over on the house -- such a kind gesture, and it made the smoothie even better. Overall, great service, welcoming atmosphere, and a much-improved setup since my last visit. Everything ran smoothly from order to pickup. Definitely will be back!

Tried the Spanish Latte and it was pretty good. This location has plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating and a fun ambiance. Not sure a fan of the kiosk ordering system since it requires my phone number ... service was quick but lack the personalized feel.

Food is excellent, parking is plentiful, staff is delightful. Pretty and cozy setting if you eat inside. My only observation was that there cushioned area was a bit dinghy on the seats. Ordering is kiosk style which is nice if you want to stop in for a quick to-go order. Came on a Wednesday at lunch and there was no wait. Ordered the Monte Kristo paying and it was ready on about 5 minutes. It was very flavorful. Next time ill try the turkey pesto panino.

Nice little coffee and brunch spot! This was my first time here, and I really enjoyed the jalapeño bagel sandwich, freshly made to order. I also tried the banana nut muffin, and everything was delicious. I ordered a vanilla latte, which had the perfect amount of sweetness. The food menu doesn't offer a ton of options, but everything on it sounded really good. It wasn't overly crowded, which I appreciated. WiFi is available, and the tables are spacious enough to get some work done. I spent a couple of hours here and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The place was clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

I've been here multiple times and it continues to be one of the best spots for a quick bite and delicious coffee! My go to is the breakfast bagel and the iced Spanish soy latte! Definitely a must try! The staff is all pretty young but all of them are very nice and are patient and they have good music playing all the time.

Came in to have a little lunch and cookies after my daughter's doctor's appointment. The service was excellent and the vibe was nice. Typical coffee shop vibes. Wifi available and comfortable chairs. Not a ton of space but a good little hole in the wall. My wife thought the sandwich was good and my daughter enjoyed the macaron set. Nothing super out of the ordinary. Very consistent.

Cappuccino to go

Love this spot. Came here with my mom for lunch a while back and today I'm just grabbing breakfast to go. Both times got super friendly, quick service. Food is great, açaí bowl and smoothie and paninis are all well made! Owners are kind and they work hard to make sure it's a lovely atmosphere in here. Check it out!

I'll start with the positive I do like their coffee! My go to is a Large SPANISH LATTE oat milk either hot or iced. It's 7 dollars and some change. So more expensive than Starbucks but I like supporting local businesses. This place is in the middle of La mirada residential area and right as the commercial stores start there's BIOLA near by and I think that's who they want as customers the BIOLA students. Now the bad! 1. NO CASH! - like my kid says "it's the big '25 get with the times" I guess. But it's probably because... 2. You have to order on a kiosk! I guess this allows for the staff there to stay in the back preparing an avocado toast and the Spanish latte. And management has one less employee to pay to take orders. The girl that helped me find my item on the kiosk was super nice. Will NOT be coming back unfortunately. There's other coffee spots opening in the same shopping center hopefully they have the staff to TAKE MY MONEY.

Scam menu. Shows meats are included in sandwiches then when you choose to type of meat, theres a 30 cent fee. There is No service only SELF service.

Ambiance: Randomly, I found this place on Google for a quick bite. Decent amount of seating, straightforward menu, and easy to navigate. Service: They were super nice and helpful, attentive and quick with the turnaround. Food: Overall, what I got was ok. My sandwich was really dry and wasn't toasted (I don't think it was supposed to be, but I feel like it should've been). I'd probably go back for another drink, not food.

I think I would rather just not have the avocado in my sandwich not the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd bad avocado I've had in my sandwiches from here unfortunately. Lesson learned. Good coffee though!

Great honey cream cold brew

Great service. Attendant was kind and friendly! Delicious food. A welcoming and calm environment. Love it!

A weekend brunch with friends brought me to Madre's Whittier, where the menu offered plenty of tempting options--and a few unexpected lessons about ordering seafood. I tried the Ensenada Omelet, loaded with shrimp, salmon, crab, and octopus. Now, I'm a seafood lover, but octopus and I aren't exactly close friends. I asked if it could be removed, but since the seafood mix is pre-made, the octopus had already RSVP'd to the party. The omelet was good, topped with a creamy sauce, but not something I'd order again. The crab appeared to be imitation crab, and while everything was prepared well, it just wasn't a standout for me. The real star? The strawberry pancakes. Delicious! Next time, I'd order those with a side of eggs and call it a win. I also sampled the chilaquiles, and now that's a dish I'd come back for. The Tiramisu Latte was another favorite--not overly sweet and packed with that classic tiramisu flavor I love. A special shoutout to our waitress, Annie, who was attentive, friendly, and made our brunch experience even better. My Verdict: Skip the Ensenada Omelet and build your brunch around the stars of the menu instead. The strawberry pancakes are the must-order item, the chilaquiles are a strong savory choice, and the Tiramisu Latte ties everything together. If you order wisely, Madre's delivers a brunch worth coming back for.

There is more outdoor seating on the covered patio than indoor seating. Both seating areas are nice. The lady who seated us was very friendly and pretty attentive and especially considering she wad handling a lot of other tables. Both the house eggs Benedict and house French toast were good. Was expecting crispy bacon on the benny considering the description, but the only difference from classic seemed to be the avocado. The benny egg and muffin were both collected well, especially the eggs they did a great job on those. Wife didn't like the flavor of the hollandaise sauce, but thought it was fine. She liked the French toast much better. You did not need syrup as the butter cream and chocolate sauce were plenty sweet on their own. Half serving is probably ok for one person, full was nice to share. The bathroom was clean, large, and single person--great for a pit stop before you head out! The mason jar waters were cool. Overall, nice local joint for a peaceful weekend or vacation breakfast. Definitely recommend giving them a try. Will be back sometime.

There were NO customers as we entered the restaurant, perhaps we came in rather late, an hour before closing. Nonetheless, considering there's no one inside the place, the service was aloof, distant and not attentive. As staff were going home, the two waitresses did not check on us for refill of coffee and water. When we paid the bill and generously tipped, we said, "bye!", the waitress was seating with her phone glued to her face. The food was decent. I ordered the "House full French Toast", and it is loaded with sliced strawberries and bananas, and drowned in chocolate drizzles. The brioche toasts were a tad dried and spongy but well coated with eggs. Delicious still. My other half ordered a Spanish omelette; it was good. We both got a little queasy in the tummy afterward. Considering spotty service and average food, we're not coming back. 2.5 stars.

Found this cute, small cafe while looking for breakfast after dropping our car off for service…read more We opted for the breakfast burrito and a side of biscuits and gravy. The burrito was tasty - loaded with eggs, bacon and ham, hash browns with crispy bits, cheese, and fresh pico de gallo. 10/10 Salsa Verde was flavorful, could use more heat. 9/10 The buttermilk biscuits were topped with sausage gravy. The biscuits were great, crispy on the edges, soft in the middle. The gravy was too salty for both of us. It's our first time here, so I'm not certain if that is how the gravy normally is or if they just got a bit heavy handed with the salt today. Service is fantastic - everyone is really attentive and friendly. We will return when in the neighborhood.

Both times I've been the local law enforcement was in having coffee, so you know the service isn't going to be horrible. And heads up for seniors, there's an early bird breakfast during the week for $10.95 for a basic breakfast. Right off the bat going to say a couple of the reviews weren't off...the coffee listed on the menu advertised refills, but truly, the mugs are small and there's not someone routinely walking around with a coffee pot like you might expect at a breakfast spot. And I too found a hair in my food...had not planned on mentioning this, but when another reviewer mentions it in less than a month's time, think it's time for management to review prep and food handling standards. On the positive side, I was able to get a coffee to go. And I wasn't going to complain about the hair (I found it halfway through finishing off my pancake), but I realized it was really stuck in there so needed to let them know they needed to likely toss that batch of batter. Having been restaurant management, I personally would have comped the ticket. But they did take off the pancake, in fairness, without my asking for a refund. But truly, it does pretty much end your meal (just took the rest of my omelette to go). The prices are steep, but I'm sure the overhead is not low...food costs are going up, staffing costs are up, and they have a large space with plenty of parking. All of that comes at a price. But the portions are good, and overall what I've had was tasty. I did give the place another shot after the pancake incident (truly, the pancake was a bit underwhelming, with an expansive menu I recommend trying something else). I tried the birria omelette and the carnitas omelette with the house potatoes. Taters were tasty, omelettes were fluffy and consistent. It was interesting how they plated. A basic cheese omelette with the meat layer on top. I also tried the loaded chili cheese fries. I ordered without onions as I'm not a raw onion fan. It comes topped with sour cream and some other sauce. I would recommend order both toppings on the side. There was so much sauciness that you could barely taste the chili, but it does fluff up the plate, so maybe there's a method to the madness there. Staff has been nice and polite, but I can see where some folks may have had a bad experience. You can tell there are some hard workers (both of my servers fell in this category), and there's a couple of slackers. But the manager on site should be floating so that they can keep an eye on the operation (front and back of house), and check in with diners. Just my two cents. Definitely worth a try if you've never been.
