I have hesitated to review this place over time because of all the mixed reviews I've seen on the page. But here's the deal: I am a bit of a creamistry addict. OK? I said it. Here's why: I have never had a bad customer service encounter here. Yes, the fact that the greeting is the most ingenuine "hi welcome" I've ever heard in my life is irritating more than welcoming....HOWEVER, the employees have always been nice to me and seemingly productive. The ice cream is fantastic. I had nitrogen frozen ice cream when I lived in Utah at another chain and it was terrible. Here it is delicious! Smoothest ice cream I've ever had. I have a hard time enjoying many other brand now that I've had this smooth wonderful stuff. The options make it worthwhile. YES, the wait is long. I get it. But these people are making you customized ice cream from scratch. How impatient can you be? Just make sure you go when you aren't in a rush. Problem solved. I like bringing my out of town friends here because it's something different than the norm. Final thing I love? I can order non dairy bars or organic products. That is huge. My mom and sister are dairy free, and I like to avoid it. Being able to choose your base is a game changer. You can easily bring anyone here and satisfy the dietary needs of the whole group. Yay! So in summary, it's delicious and a must try. Make sure you bring adult friends, dates, special diet people....because your kids will hate waiting. Bring it home to them instead. read more

First impressions... LOUD (terrible acoustics), not so clean, flies, clientele a bit rough...? And pricey as hell! The one staff member ringing us up and then making our ice cream kept wiping his nose and it was driving me nuts! Dropped by this ice cream shop while crossing Bakersfield- it's pretty awesome imo. I'm always hunting for nitrogen frozen ice cream as they're generally way more creamy and dense compared to others. Got the Nutella and the strawberry flavour scoops. Did not disappoint. Even tried the nitro shakes on the return trip, they were creamy as hell although the "flavour" felt a bit diluted. They've got my business as long as they keep up the standards. Will recommend to friends & family and will return! Ps- service is expected to be a bit slow as they make your ice cream scoop on spot as opposed to simply scooping your ice cream out of a giant tub. read more

Kids love this place as well and usually when they place the liquid nitrogen in the bowl to make the ice cream, there's clouds of vapor the come from behind the counter. They have really great options for those that are lactose intolerant or vegan. They have plenty of options for everyone's request. The flavors and different types of treats vary and make everyone happy. Most of the time when we go, we try something new. Everything we've tried has been delicious. I recognize the "base" act to be very similar to the tastebud teasers the airlines hand-out on most flights..only now it's a creamy, hard frozen ice cream treat that's covered in a thinned down marshmallow topping served in a freshly made to order, thin and crispy vanilla waffle cone bowl. (Which I'm pleased and surprised stayed crunchy after freezing leftovers at home). Ohh the best part, it was a Friday special "buy one large & get another large for ONE DOLLAR" Tonight my tastebud concert was enjoyed and worth the price. Simpler is a better option in my opinion for all the mix-ins available, however, either peanut butter cups OR cheesecake bites would have been a nice addition. Well, I wasn't really all that impressed. My husband was in the mood for an ice cream cone and perhaps we just chose the wrong place. It was close by and I saw it had good reviews on Yelp, so decided to give it a try. This apparently is some great new high-tech, big-show way of making ultra-smooth ice cream. However, none of this was really explained to me when I stood at the counter, trying to decide what to order. I walked in and the clerk behind the counter asked if I was ready to order and I said I needed a minute because I hadn't been there before. He did offer to walk me thru the menu, which was mostly smoothie, sundae or parfait type items. When I asked about just scoops of ice cream in a cup or cone, he said they could do that. My husband wanted a cone with a scoop of strawberry and a scoop of chocolate. But we are told if you want a 2-scoop cup or cone, you have to have both scoops of the same flavor, because they custom mix the flavor with the base for each order. I guess "custom" doesn't mean that you get to choose more than one flavor of ice cream. So we order him a strawberry cone and I get a scoop of vanilla in a cup with fudge sauce. But then the clerk checks on the cone and says their cone maker is out of order, so we get the strawberry ice cream in a cup. The clerk did offer to add some cone crumbles on top for no charge. There's a lot of show as the liquid nitrogen is mixed with the ice cream base and clouds of fog envelop the clerk. But when it's all said and done, we spent $20+ on two very small scoops of ice cream which don't even come close to filling the little cup. It wasn't until I was standing at the counter waiting while they produced the ice cream that I read the blurb on the wall about how their ice cream is different and how it's made by injecting the cream base with liquid nitrogen. It would have been nice if the clerk explained that while I was ordering. Maybe I would have felt that I was getting a little better value. We got the dairy base and the ice cream was very smooth and creamy. No complaints about the quality of the finished product. The portion just seemed incredibly tiny for the price. It was only a couple of bucks to up-size to each larger size, but we weren't that hungry. Clearly, the big smoothie sized cups with add-ins are what they are trying to sell you here, and if that's what you're looking for, you might be happy and feel like it's a decent value. This just isn't the place to go to get a simple ice cream cone. Way too expensive for a tiny portion. read more

I guess they're right don't come here if you have somewhere to be. I don't know what was going on but there were 2 parties ahead of me. We waited for about 20 min until the 1st person got their order taken. 2nd person just walked out. I gave it another 10 min and my order was still not taken. I could see other parties sitting down who were there before me still waiting for their ice cream. My husband was able to go to Habit, order food and finish it before I even ordered my ice cream. The whole experience was easy and awesome except for picking up my order. I stood inside the store in front of 4 employees for almost 15 minutes before someone asked to help me. I told them I was waiting for a pick up order and he went straight to the freezer behind the counter and pulled out my order. I never received the notification saying it was ready nor and I was little burnt it took so long for some one to help me.
