Nice place good ice cream, we had a good experience eating liquid nitrogen ice cream!

I had nitro ice cream in Miami once and it changed my life. I've been dreaming about that Nutella flavor ever since--so naturally, I asked my husband to take me here for my birthday. Holy mother of Moses... I could eat that Nutella nitro ice cream every single day. No regrets. The place wasn't too busy, but we did have to wait a bit--some bigger groups were ahead of us, waiting on their frozen delight. While we waited, we started chatting with one of the groups and found out we shared a birthday! After we got our glorious ice cream, we sat outside and that same group came out and asked me to take a photo of them. Then their mom took a photo of me and her son--because, you know, birthday twins! It was such a sweet moment. I love connecting with strangers, and we were laughing so hard it made the whole experience even better. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed--nice, but short on words and not super chatty. Still, they got the job done and handed me my Nutella masterpiece, so I'm not mad. I love love my ice cream made this way. It's my absolute favorite. It doesn't melt as fast as regular ice cream, and watching them make it is half the fun. I actually passed this place the other day and thought... maybe it's a sign I should go back? This is the third place with this approach to making ice cream that I've tried, and it's by far the best of the bunch. Basically, take fresh ingredients, add a ton of cold (ok, well, literally speaking, take out a ton of heat), and end up with a creamy, dense, flavorful delight that's exactly what you want flavorwise, with absolutely no time to gather off flavors or ice crystals like traditional ice cream. It's dense, super creamy, and just bursting with flavor, and the add ons were fresh and delicious as well. My wife and I ended up getting a banana creation (could have sworn it was an Elvis kind of thing, but I failed to get a picture of the menu), and a Heath bar crunch cup. Both were wonderful and substantial in portion size. This place is the real deal in this style of ice cream, it's highly recommended! read more

I don't know if there are other ice cream shops that flash freeze with liquid nitrogen right in front of you, but it is a pretty cool sell, especially if you have kiddos. My family shared a Cookie Monster and Unicorn and while normally flavors like birthday cake would flat out repulse me, the ice cream was so fresh that I was loving these flavors. They're perfectly balanced - not overly, sickeningly sweet. The creations are very pretty to the eye so I get the high price tag. Typically, paying nine bucks for a single ice cream with a few toppings would make me scoff, but the sheer freshness has drawn me in. I can't wait to come back and try more! read more

I fell in love with Creamistry the moment a friend introduced me to it a few months ago. The ice cream is indulgent, rich, beautifully presented, and fun to watch as it's made instantly before your eyes using liquid nitrogen. I recommend all their flavors, especially the sorbets. I haven't tried their oat milk options or shakes yet, but if they're even half as good as the ice cream, you can't go wrong. This was a fun place to eat some ice cream on a hot day. The coffee ice cream had a strong coffee taste that a coffee lover would really appreciate. I think there were too many Oreos added in the mix and overpowered the ice cream. The brownie bites were chewy and soft. Overall the ice cream was good and I recommend you try one of the premade creations to get more for your money if your someone that likes a lot of toppings in your ice cream. read more

Today is February 22nd, 2022 It is 9 p.m and Citlali (the ONLY employee) has been working here since 5:25 p.m. I just would like to preface that nothing from this review is her (Citlali's) fault. She is the ONLY employee and no management was there. She had to prepare ice cream for 11 ppl at once BY HERSELF by the time I arrived. 1: since nobody was there it was clear the menu and items were running out as 7 items were crossed off the menu 2: the BATHROOM was horrendous. Now Bc she was unable to ever seem to leave the kitchen the bathroom seemed to progressively get worse and worse. This was the end result . The toilet was basically unusable and the floor was COVERED in sticky piss. I really hope this wasn't the only bathroom in the establishment Bc imagine working a whole store by yourself, needing a bathroom break and finding it at this point. Unbelievable. 3: the fact that me and several people were willing to help her at her shift seeing how overwhelming it was says something about how this company values their employees, either she needs a raise or to save herself and leave. I don't ever see myself giving my money to this establishment if this is what they put their resources towards. All in all by the time I got my order (30 minutes later) it was very good and I enjoyed my product but it wasn't as enjoyable as it should've been Bc someone was literally suffering Do better. read more

Don't not come to this place!!!! Is there a way to give no stars???? We've been here about 4 times over the past few months - it's been worse each time - the "teenagers" running this place have no idea what they are doing - 4 or 5 competent workers should be able to run this place - there were crumbs everywhere - the bathroom was beyond scary - 3 regular ice creams took 45 minutes and that was with several orders in front of us bailing and leaving or asking for a refund - when we finally got our order it tasted off - I'm concerned that the workers here could be so negligent that they could be making people sick - avoid this place - hopefully it will close soon permanently read more

Does Creamistry care about its employees? From the reviews it seems like a good establishment, but when I came in there was only one employee left to do all of the work. I asked him what was wrong because he was visibly upset and he said that the employees from the night before left the store a mess and he has had to clean the store by himself all while catering to all of the customers AND making the ice cream. That's not right. The poor guy shouldn't have to do all of that because management won't whip their employees in shape(for lack of better terms). As a business owner myself, this is bad business. Would have given a higher rating but nope. The place has a great location and beautiful inside. The issue: 1: No greeting from the team working there and simply stare at you and keep going. There wasn't even a line! 2: Being in such a great location, why are they wearing sweats? Like they borrowed their grown brothers sweats. 3: The place is a hot mess! This Creamistry location is problematic. My husband and I went last night, the first time since before the pandemic started, and it was really disappointing. First, let me begin by saying I work in a fast-paced, customer facing role in my own profession, so I am more than happy to give grace and space when it comes to businesses who are swamped with customers and having to fulfill orders in a quick manner while people are looking on and waiting. That being said, it was incredibly busy. The store was jam-packed full of people. I am not sure of what their occupancy was, but it had to have been really close to capacity. It was chaotic, confusing and uncomfortable. When you walked in, you had no idea where the line started. Customers were standing around and you would have to ask another customer where the line began. To add more of an obstacle to the already limited space in the store, there are 3 large, empty liquid nitrogen tanks taking up space where people could be more safely spaced. I get the idea of having 1 empty tank for display, but 3 empty tanks just sitting there looks like they are waiting to be picked up and they don't have space in their back of house. It's a bad look. While there are social distancing circles on the floor, those are completely disregarded by customers. They look shopworn, like they've been there for a long time and they are really raggedy. Even for non-COVID times, I'd say the density of people in the store was a lot. A few customers were wearing masks, but I'd say 80% of them were mask-less, which is even more incentive to safely space people apart. My recommendation to this Creamistry would be to have 1 or even 2 employees work the door and the line to ensure that the place 1.) Doesn't become so packed with people that it is alarming and 2.) That people are clearly oriented to where the line begins. When we placed our orders, there was no place to wait but by the door smooshed in by the large nitrogen tanks, so I took it upon myself to direct people who had just walked in to direct them to the beginning of the line. That is how chaotic and disorganized this felt. I think by having employees work the door and line, you'll find that people have a better overall experience. We do this at my job as well and it greatly enhances the quality of the interaction. People will gladly wait when you communicate what is going on. They could even have iPads to take people's order in line while they wait. It's really that simple. Now onto the actual order we placed. My husband ordered a large- he got a small (he was charged for the small as well as we found out on the receipt) but maybe if it wasn't so chaotic in the store there would have been better communication. The ice cream itself it great! Creamy and rich! The toppings however and the execution of the order is poor. I got the Strawberry Bond and the cheesecake bites were lackluster, like maybe they had been left in the fridge too long and there was no strawberry sundae drizzle on my ice cream like the picture indicated. Only half the staff cared to wear a mask and they all looked like they showed up spur-of-the moment in their street clothes, you know like hoodies and things you really shouldn't wear when preparing food (hello drawstrings). Not the look you want when people are working with food. The area behind the counter was messy and disorganized and the waiting area was dirty. I noticed some of the color transitioning LED lights were out and it was just all around cringe. The pint freezer was storing some random boxes not pints and everything looked like it had been not well-maintained. I would implore the owners of this place to go wait in the disorganized chaos and experience it from the customer perspective and ask yourself if this is really what you want to give your customers? Creamistry is a great idea and I know it's capable of being so much better. I had been to the (I guess now closed) locations on Greenville Ave and in Southlake and had great experiences there. Our experience at this one was just awful all the way around and the only reason I even give it 2 stars is because the ice cream itself is delicious and there is potential to turn things around. I believe in Creamistry as I know it can be awesome- but this location does not show the idea the care it needs. Sure, you'll have lines of people for a while, but eventually people will get turned off by the disappointment. read more

Was out in Addison for dinner at a Lao/Thai spot and we wanted something sweet. Looked for open spots nearby (9pm) and found Creamistry. Neither of us had been before. It was a Friday night and neither of us had actually ever been to this area either! There were tons of other restaurants! I parked in the garage and had to go all the way to 3! Ok, so the line at Creamistry was long. A few patrons walked out bc they were told it would be about 30 mins to get their orders. There were 3 people in all working, 1 on register other 2 making treats although it seemed like only 1 person was. We were instantly mesmerized by the way the ice cream were made! But our ohs and ahs were short lived. The young lady taking our order was very disengaged. Told me it would take 30 mins for our ice cream- it seemed like more to discourage me from ordering- not apologizing for the wait. I like to mention to new places I try that I've never been there to see if they are helpful or suggest any must try... again this young lady clearly did not give a s$&t. I ordered. My girlfriend ordered. We opted to wait outside bc it was a beautiful spring night, not too cool- warm with a breeze! Besides, it was muggy as heck inside the shop. After 20 mins I decided to go check on my ice cream bc the inside was completely dead. I see a cup sitting on the counter, but can't tell if it's mine, they do not stick the sticker on the cup to identify it. I didn't want to just touch it if it wasn't mine. The gentleman was in the back cleaning, and the gals were cleaning etc too. The gals both saw me standing there but didn't even ask if I had a question. I finally asked once I felt like I wasn't disrupting what they had going on. Yes in fact it was mine (whipped cream all melted from sitting there so long but whatever). Now I really didn't think it was mine bc my gfs wasn't up there either. And as I mentioned, they were all cleaning etc not in the middle of making my gfs so I really was confused. I asked about my friends and they never made it, had no clue what happened to it etc... so he made hers. I have to say the work area was really messy/ dirty... to their defense, they were BUSY!!! However, I believe in cleaning as I go so I was just a little grossed out. Not enough to make me not eat my damn near $10 ice cream concoction though lol I had the coffee something and my gf had the s'mores. We both concluded the creations itself were not worth that amount of money. The concept and how they make the ice cream is fun! However the dismal and disengaged staff make me not ever wanna come back. The s'mores was literally chocolate ice cream, graham crackers pieces, marshmallows, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. $8?!? No thanks. If the staff was nicer and more engaging I definitely would have added it to the treat places I have when in the area. read more

Finally tried this place with my friends on a Saturday night. There were 5-6 people (all looked really young, maybe teens) working behind the counter. It didn't really look clean as they were all wearing dirty hoodies, but they were at least nice. Some of them were just standing there, while the rest were actually working. It was really awkward. The ice cream was medicore. I understand that you are paying for the experience and the liquid nitrogen, but come on? If you're paying $8 for a regular sized ice cream, then at least have it a little bit bigger and filled. My friend got Birthday Cake and she enjoyed it I enjoyed mine too but for some reason mine melted sooo fast! Mine became literal thai TEA while my friend's was still in a ice cream shape form not sure if thai tea just has a different ingredient that makes it melt faster or whoever made mine didn't freeze it enough. My gf and I walked in, and the clerk was with another person who was on their phone leaning on the bar and we didn't get greeted or even a "we will be right with you" No eye contact was made from the person behind the bar. Bathroom was out of order and the place was dark as well. Kinda bummed out because it looks cool online. They also had no waffle cones, and there were a few flavors not available, with "not available" marketed over the laminated menu.
