I am so sad, all of the Creamistrys around LA have closed due to various problems, cockroach infestations, failing grades, concerns about nitrogen being dangerous which is really pretty unfounded because it doesn't get into the ice cream. I have to say I really miss it because this is the most delicious ice cream I've ever had in my life. It had the best mouth feel, it was so creamy, and it wasn't overly sweet. Such a shame. Visited Creamistry while in LA on vacation. I was excited to see that they have vegan base and vegan options since I have a dairy allergy. They have two vegan base options--cashew and coconut milk. I got the vegan cashew milk base with matcha flavor. I hadn't tried matcha ice cream before, and this definitely made me a fan! It was very sweet, and I couldn't finish the whole thing (however, we did go out for pizza right beforehand, so that's probably why!). The process of making the ice cream is definitely cool to watch, but it does make the process slower. It also is a lot more steps than at a regular ice cream place, and this stressed me out at first a little with my allergy (which is severe). However, they use a fresh whisk and bowl with each order, which lowers the chance of any cross-contamination. Every wondered what science tastes like? Tables, floors, and counters were exceptionally clean. All workers wore masks for COVID-19 protocol. Decor was pretty much nonexistent. Restaurant temperate was just right. Clientele was young adult. Parking lot was in good condition, but a little packed. Staff was very friendly and urgent. All of them moved with skillful speed and had good hygiene and food safety practices. I ordered the Party Animal Mix and it was okay. Kind of bland, would've been nice to have a contrasting flavor somewhere in there, but it was at the perfect temperature and stacked to the max. I feel their ice cream kind of has a chewy texture to it, which you may or may not enjoy. My friend ordered one with Nutella and it was too packed with Nutella; he ended up throwing it out. What happened to this location? We went to on 10/9 (sat) around 3 or 4. We ordered 2 cinnamon roll(limited) and regular vanilla. The cashier never asked size, kind of milk, any toppings, or cap/corn. (Did I miss something?) There were two lady working, but both are not friendly or polite. We subscribe email from creamistry and got interested cinnamon roll with was shown in cone So we were expected to that. If the cone is extra$$, she could ask us at least. I wanted to door dash from this location, checked hours open, and noticed their kitchen stops accepting orders at 10:15 for online food delivery, and the restaurant closes at 10:30. Specifically, I made sure to put my order in before 10:15. My order was manually canceled by the restaurant after placing my order with no reason given. Creamistry is a little pricey for someone like me who tends to be cheap. But at the same time, I value quality. And creamistry is always SO creamy and delicious. I hate ice cream that melts quickly and I hate ice cream that's all soft and mushy. Creamisty will hold its shape until your last bite. It does not melt quickly so you can take your time and savor every bite, which I like to do when I eat my ice cream. Since it's a bit pricey, i usually get a large and share it--but even then I'm wanting more after. It does take a while for the ice cream to be made. I've noticed each time I go that no matter how few people are in the store, it takes a little while. But honestly, it's worth it. Just don't come in here if you're in a rush. Great ice cream with a good variety of choices for fruit, toppings and flavors to create. The nitrogen and quick whipping/mixing makes the ice cream super creamy and completely smooth.
