I found myself and a bunch of friends having had a hearty lunch on a Saturday afternoon, wandering the streets of Brixton in search of somewhere that would serve a range of desserts and be able to seat a group of 8 people. This was a surprisingly hard task to accomplish. We browsed through the Brixton markets and found it to be bustling and packed to the brim in all the small eateries. Cafes on the main or side streets also didn't serve much by way of dessert, rather opting for English breakfast or paninis instead. So what do we do? We resort to searching on Google and it reveals that there is a dessert establishment called the Creams Cafe, a 10 minute walk from Brixton station. So we go to check this out. Creams is also packed with people and understandably so given the scarcity of dessert elsewhere in Brixton and the dessert available here is not just any dessert, it in fact has a full impressive array from sundaes, crepes, waffles, cakes to ice cream, milkshake, and other varieties of drink. In short, it has everything to satisfy a sweet tooth. The portions are generous and good value; well worth the wait! The seating when it does become available is comfortable and spacious, with booths big enough to seat 8 people or tables lining the cafe that can be rearranged to accommodate for as many seats as you require.  A word of warning: the desserts are rich and can be loaded with additions such as cream, flakes, custard, chocolate shavings, etc. so go with some stomach capacity. The attention to detail and presentation is a pleasant surprise. Whilst there is clearly an effort to appeal to children with options such as bubblegum flavoured dessert and Cookie Monster or Hello Kitty cupcakes, the creative variety on offer is enough to spoil anyone for choice. A must-go-to stop if you're in Brixton wanting dessert.

Went there with a couple of friends, loved the place ! If you've got a sweet tooth then this is heaven on earth ! I had a pistachio Sunday that was great although I preferred the strawberry one my friend got. Cool place to go to if you're not on a diet or if it's your cheat day ! The place was clean, the staff didn't bother us much even though we stayed for ages on a busy Saturday afternoon. Will definitely try their black ice cream sometime soon.

The Library at County Hall is situated inside the Marriott hotel cradled beside the River Thames…read more The restaurant offers sweeping views of the iconic Big Ben and captivates with its sophisticated charm and old world ambiance. My husband and I had the privilege of booking afternoon tea during our recent visit to London. The total cost was approximately $175 USD and served one pot of tea with the flavor of your choice along with delicate sized sandwiches and several desserts on a tiered platter. Alejandro, our server, was not only hospitable but knowledgeable with the tea offerings. Service was also efficient and the presentation was refined. That, along with the stunning view, made our experience memorable. The only part that STAINED my delight was being seated next to 3 overly pretentious young women who, while dressed well & presented the proper image, did not possess the etiquette they "TRIED" to present. It was more obnoxious than sophisticated. To give you a better visual - think 'ladies who lunch' but with the tone that matched women who discussed men like they were at a bar rather than an upscale tea room. I found their conversation inappropriate, immature and rude. They spoke loudly enough for perhaps a third of the room to hear. Other than that, I would recommend The Library for all that it offers - just cross your fingers you aren't seated too closely to a trio of young 20-somethings who think they have the male population all figured out like they've watched and taken notes of every episode of 'Sex and the City'.

5 stars for the view, 4 stars for the tea. The location is perfect with stunning views of Big Ben…read moreover the Thames. The tea itself was pretty good with a big assortment of sandwiches and desserts (and a cake shaped like Big Ben!) the tea selection comes in little glass jars you can smell, and both the County Hall mix and earl grey tasted yummy. The service was pretty quick and friendly.
