Was originally told nothing was wrong with my brakes or automatic gear shift, which was totally stupid and even embarrassing for them to tell me since clearly that was and still is the biggest problem the car has, which is now getting worked on by an actual garage shop. My car was held for over a week on a job that was promised to be done the next day, even after consistent calls daily they made it clear they do not care about you or your car as long as they get their paycheck. The shop itself reeks of weed and are clearly high all day themselves, had to stop by since my phone call wasn't being answered. They then proceeded to ask for a positive yelp review before evening fixing anything on my car. Went there for a check engine light that never got fixed because they weren't sure what the problem was. Just started trying things and sending me bills. Please don't go here it is not worth your time, money and effort.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP. THESE FOLKS WILL TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE!…read more Before I start I will mention I own a car leasing company, I deal with repair shops all the time and most people in Colorado are great, this shop is truly despicable. I recently got two different services done but this negative review will be for the windshield repair. So the guy originally told me he could get a used windshield for around $150, he claims that windshield got sold and he'd be able to get a new one for $250. The windshield he installed was clearly used because it was tinted lol and this genius was so lazy he didn't even peel the tint off but that's not the reason for the negative review. These incredibly lazy bums didn't clean out any of the class AND one of them must have smoked in my car because there's a cigarette burn on the drivers seat. But that's only half the reason for this review. The other part, which I still can't fully believe, is that they charged me $110 for 'storing' my car at their crappy shop for 10 days. I had previously had work done there and I left my car for about a week after service and wasn't charged, establishing a precedent. They called to tell me my car was ready but nothing about getting it or incurring fees. I have about five shops I regularly work with so I called each of them to ask if this was normal and all five said I was dealing with a crook. None of them charge storage fees and one of the other shop owners heard about how this shop also screwed up the radiator repair on my other car and he looked up this shop and said 'It looks like they've been around for 20 years and their shop looks like it's got the bare minimum equipment and almost no employees, sometimes if a shop looks like they can do almost no repairs, guess what? They probably can't'. I had a feeling this shop would suck, but I didn't think they'd give me back a car with glass everywhere, cigarette burns and $110 in storage fees without ever verbally indicating it. But clearly, these guys are struggling, don't support these scumbags, let them fail.

Mechanic recommended fixes for the long road trip, we had them completed and picked up the car with seemingly no issues. We were slated to leave the next morning at 5am, so we woke up at 3am to get ready and take the dog out on a walk, where we discovered the splash guard hanging completely on the ground underneath the car (first image + video below). So we had to delay our trip out by 2 hours just to bring it back in. Told them my frustrations with having our travel delayed, and wasn't really met with any sort of apology / compensation. Finally get back out on the road, and when we arrive at our destination the next morning, we noticed a scraping noise when hitting some low bumps. Looked under the car and see that part of the guard underneath is held together with a zip tie! (Second image + video) Absolutely insane work. Completely disgusted with the shoddy work and the lack of attention + care.

It was incredibly frustrating. When I brought it to Grant Automotive, Ryan actually took the time to listen. Even though I was pretty frustrated at that point, Ryan wanted to figure out what was going on instead of brushing me off. He even invited me to ride along with them so they could witness the issue themselves. He absolutely didn't have to do that, but the fact that he did shows how much they're willing to go the extra mile for his customers. After taking a closer look, we realized the problem was actually simple -- the front grill had small vent covers that were restricting airflow. Once we removed them, the overheating problem was completely solved. What really stood out to me was their willingness to take the time, problem-solve, and treat me with respect when other shops wouldn't even try. You can tell they truly care about their customers and about doing the job right. I'm really grateful I found them and would absolutely recommend Grant Automotive to anyone looking for honest, helpful mechanics.

They referred us to the Kia dealer, which I knew would be very expensive. So I did some research online and found Franklynn Automotive. I called and described the situation to Steve. He said they likely can handle it, but would start with a complimentary second opinion. After their inspection, they determined that the hose does not need to be replaced and we only needed to refresh the refrigerant, which they do have the equipment for. In addition, the reason the other shop might have suggested the hose replacement was because of a leak related to the axel. All in, the repairs would be substantially less than the dealer quote for work that may not have been needed in the first place. Overall, great experience with Franklynn.

He was the reason I wanted to get the suspension serviced here as his explanation of what I needed done showed his mastery of his craft. However after taking the car to Tesla to get a 2nd opinion I discovered that this shop (not the tech) was trying to charge me literally a 200% markup on the parts to do the repair. Crazy right!!! The genuine Tesla parts for the repair were $209 and these guys quoted those same parts out to $614 (I sent him the estimate from Tesla with the exact cost of the parts). Unfortunately for me Tesla wouldn't work on the car because of an aftermarket body kit the previous owner had installed. I really liked the mechanic at this shop, so I went back to this shop with the intention to move forward even though their cost was literally 56% more ($1,635 vs $2,555) then Tesla for the same work (because of the price gouging on the parts). Then when I asked about it before my approval to move forward the manager got snarky and said how would you expect us to stay in business if we don't markup the parts. I said and I quote "I get a markup on the parts and your high hourly rate for the labor on the work but not a 200% markup on the parts." The guy gave an excuse about the software they use but was unwilling to budge on the price gouging. I literally said why don't you let me buy the parts directly from Tesla and you can still mark them up 25% and he still said no. I was completely professional throughout the conversation, but obviously would not pay a 200% markup on parts on top of the already top of market labor they charge. After the conversation he texted me back and we agreed to not move forward. I only leave this review to warn others. It's a bad business practice to over charge people like that and so I just wanted to give people my story warning them to watch out and be careful before doing any work here. Update: this slime ball's disclosure of all the information I gave his manager, Steve, in good faith is abhorrent. Everything he mentioned on the car was told to them right up front as I told it to the manager, Steve, in person and this clown is repeating word for word what I told his manager. I was cool with this at first but this guy is a complete scum bag now using my own words and lying about it. Anyways besides being a scum bag, no effort at all was made regarding the parts and this shops 200% markup. I literally told the guy running the shop I would buy the parts myself and let them mark it up 25% and still the answer was a quick no. Everything I said was honest and accurate and don't appreciate this guy claiming transparency when his long shpeel was essentially just a my own words complaining about the car I bought and his shops poor excuse for price gauging. They could have done the job without gauging me on the price given I had the option to buy the parts myself. Not cool at all the response from this guy and his piss poor excuse for attempting to rip me off.
