My only wish is that his location was closer to my house, and that he was open on weekends, but that won't stop me from going. Next he will see my Veloster for a seat heater diagnostic. I have been to Tune Tech twice. The first time for an issue with my cars remote start, then for a low beam bulb. Both times Tune Tech fixed the problem in a timely, professional, and affordable manner. They even checked all of my lights, finding I had 3 bulbs out, not just one. I was glad I took it to them considering I'd taken my car for an oil change a week earlier to a different company who never mentioned that I had any lights out. I came in to see what happened and they said that the little plastic coolant pipes that go to the water pump were dissolving. I'm honestly quite annoyed because I feel like this is something that should have been noticed a year ago and I highly doubt this wear and tear appeared in a year on a car that already had 170,000 miles. I ended up going to another guy that actually cares about older cars (mine's a 2006) and he figured out it was another gasket in my engine, not a head gasket like they were claiming. Applewood wanted to charge me $4800 in total for a car I paid $3000 for. My mechanic was able to do it for $560 because he just replaced the radiator cap and plastic gasket that gets worn down at almost 170,000 miles each time. I also am a woman so when I called them they used a very sarcastic tone with me and kept gaslighting me on the issue. Sure a head gasket repair may have fixed the problem but I would have wildly overpaid. I added my inspection report that was wildly overstated and would have costed me $4800 for something that they should have already replaced or told me about considering they had replaced my entire water pump and the hose connecting to it.

Per the invoice, she was charged $164.89 for check-engine light concerns and $98.00 for a cooling system pressure test, totaling $290.14, which she paid. The cooling system pressure test to identify a leak was reasonable and not disputed. However, the invoice also documents deferred/declined services totaling $3,289.48. These included extensive recommended repairs that were declined after review. Notably, the invoice states the alternator was not charging and was not repaired, yet a full check-engine diagnosis was still performed and billed. Diagnosing electronic engine and transmission faults while the charging system is inoperative results in unstable system voltage and unreliable fault codes. In addition, a battery was installed without authorization. The invoices show the battery initially quoted at $260, later reduced to $160 without a warranty, and only after objection was it ultimately provided at no charge because the original battery had already been discarded. I expect better authorization practices, transparency, and diagnostic standards -- especially when working with senior citizens who rely on a shop's guidance. Based on what is documented on the invoices and the amount of declined work presented, I cannot recommend this location. We are asking for a refund of the 164.89
