They have ice creams galore here. It was hard for me to choose! I went for the prettiest one I saw and that turned out to be the Birthday Cake flavor. It was delicious! Tina had the mangonada that looked very good. I was wanting a salty snack too, so when I saw the Dori-Lokos or "Crazy Doritos" I knew I wanted to try it. The lady working there asked me twice if pork skins was okay for her to top onto them. I said sure. Little did I know what I was about to experience! They were actual pork skins that were like a cartilage or jello like texture. I assumed they would be like the crispy bagged variety you see in stores. It was an experience for sure! I liked it, but I probably would not order it again. The Crazy Doritos were also topped with a sort of nut that I liked, cucumber, and hot sauce. I just can't believe I was not in Mexico when I came here. I'm really glad we have places like this that can make some people feel like home and allow other to just have a different experience. Whenever any donut shops pop up nearby I always say they have nothing on Donut Joe's. The donuts always taste amazing and the staff are always super kind. They wake up super early in the morning to prep the donuts and brew some coffee fof the daily commutes and people nearby. I especially love to pick up donuts for my coworkers when I head to work as well. In the four years that I have lived down here in town, I can say without a doubt it is one of the best donut shops I have ever had and I hope to continue to come here for years. I purchased the mini lemon blueberry pound cake. The owner was so nice. He also gave me a free slice of the strawberry lemonade pound cake, since I couldn't decide. Both cakes were moist and went great with my coffee! I enjoyed the lemon blueberry the most. While talking to the owner , he told me about their location in Homewood and how to place orders as well. His name escapes me but I really enjoyed learning more about this black owned business and it was a pleasure supporting them. Give them a try if you're a pound cake fan , like me.

The staff are relatable and friendly and always greet you with a genuine smile. Iris, especially, has been particularly warm and hospitable. It's been a joy getting to talk to them each time I visit. The menu has a massive selection of drinks (and you can even customize your own!) and a respectable amount of pastries, each of which has been well worth my money. In the odd case that you don't like your first drink, you are sure to find one you love among the rest of the menu. My favorite fruit tea/lemonade so far is the Rainbow Road, while my favorite milk tea is hands-down the cotton candy.
