My cousin used this place for the cake for her other cousin's baby shower and the cake came out PERFECT! The theme of the shower was teddy bears and the cake she found on Pinterest looked so amazing when Creative Cakes brought it to life. I did cake tasting at 3 places, the first boring, the second too sweet, Creative Cakes was just right. Their lemon cake with raspberry cream filling is delicious, you can even see the fine bits of lemon in it. The cake was delivered right on time. No issues with cutting or falling apart. I found out about this place through Google (hah), because it was my mother's birthday, and I wanted to surprise her with a beautiful, and delicious cake. Well, Rockwell's came through for me. I ordered the Devil's Chocolate with Raspberry Mousse, with White Chocolate curls and cute Pink Chocolate dipped Strawberies. It was wonderfully elegant, and it tasted perfect. Not overbearing chocolatey, with a tangy raspberry flavor. Wonderful combination. The only thing that bothered me was, the way they wrapped the cake. In my opinion, for a 30 dollar cake, they could have at least put it in a..somewhat, air-tight box? They gave it to me in a donut-style pink box, and it couldn't even close all the way. That's just the only downside. Maybe they should get bigger boxes? I don't know.. Well, anyway, five stars for their wonderfully beautiful, flavorful cake. Worth the thirty dollars. Maureen!!! at Creative Cakes is very rude, not helpful, and just does not care. When we went in for our tasting appointment, she had no clue who we were and it felt like it didn't matter if we had an appointment or not. Then during the appointment she was yelling at her colleagues to come out and help others that walked in. We felt very rushed throughout the tasting and almost forced to make a decision that day when we were still 2 1/2 months away from our wedding. They are not very 'creative' (their name is quite deceiving). Since our venue only used Creative Cakes as their vendor, it felt like they didn't care because they knew they had our business already! As the date neared, she never verified if the flavors we initially chose were the ones we still wanted especially since our guest count changed and we no longer needed so many tiers. Then when I decided to have ribbon on the cake, she did not even let me know that I would have to go buy my own or provide guidance on what type of ribbon they need. She left me feeling very upset, confuse, and annoyed - the worst part of all this is that I'm an event planner and would never recommend my clients to this type of service!!! read more

I have been a returning costumer for 4 years and have order many cakes throughout that time. I have always been very happy with the cakes and service until 3 weeks ago. I ordered a lemon cake with raspberry Bavarian cream filling for my son's Fortnite cake. When we cut the cake on the day of the party I noticed that there was only Bavarian cream on the inside. The flavor was very bland. I emailed Cheryll the following day to let her know that they had used the wrong filling and I sent her a picture. I got an email back from her 3 days later and after 2 emails. All Cherypl could say was "I'm sorry they didn't put the raspberry, all I can do is take $10 off your next cake." I emailed her back and expressed how disappointing it was that that's all they can do especially since I was a returning customer and they did not give me what I paid for. It's been 2 weeks from that email and Cheryll never took the time to respond back. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. This is a perfect example of poor customer service. read more

Our venue has a contract with this awful place so we were definitely not there to try free cakes or waste their time, so why treat us poorly? Creative Cakes completely changed my belief on cakes at weddings! I had always felt that wedding cakes were never good and were always cliché. I always wanted to have something original and fun for my wedding but when the time finally came I realized it's a lot of extra work and sometimes giving people too much ends up just being a waste in both food and money. Our caterer, Elegant Affair, had a package that included cake. To make things easier we just went with it and I am very happy we did! We tried all of the cake and frosting flavors and picked the combos that we enjoyed the best (there wasn't a bad one at all, they were all amazing!). They had fake sample cakes in their bakery and we selected something very simple and traditional to work into our romantic and rustic theme. The bakery was easy to reach, to find, and work with. They delivered our cake on time and it was gorgeous!! It had the flowers (peonies and seeded eucalyptus) just the way I had requested it, cascading down at an angle. The cake tasted just as good as it looked and we had NONE left! Everyone raved about the cake and how delicious it was! People told us they don't like cake but loved ours. I only had one bite but it was moist, had the perfect amount of frosting and cake, and didn't fall apart. I truly can't say enough great things about Creative Cakes and the product they delivered. Order your cakes through them for you won't be disappointed! Can't wait till next year to eat our one year anniversary cake that they provide for free! read more

I wanted a special cake for my fathers 80th birthday party and had a design in mind. My friend and I met at Creative Cakes to place the order; my friend has used them all the way back to when they got married over 25 years ago..to most recently for her son's high school graduation. We met with Cheryll who was nice..polite and listened to my ideas for my dad's 80th birthday party. She comes across as very experienced and straight forward with the prices. Buying a cake from Creative Cakes is not inexpensive; I don't mind paying more as long as the cake is fabulous for a special occasion. It was a very pleasant experience,,I do wish I could have sampled some of the cakes/fillings and it would be nice if they had a referral program for people, like my friend, has referred at least 5 people since the graduation. I went with the same flavors that my friend had for her most recent cake, which was delicious when I had it before. I love that they deliver. I have had cake disasters in the past while transporting lovely cakes; it's nice to know I can leave it to the professionals! The cake was delivered just as promised; it really was a work of art! How did I not write a review for this place a year ago? They did our wedding cake last October and it was the most amazing cake I've ever seen. Seriously, it was the highlight of our day (besides getting married haha!). We had a very specific vision for our horror/Halloween/elegant fall wedding and the cake was the one aspect we really wanted to have fun with and just go all out. So we decided on a Freddy Krueger inspired cake but still keeping in line with the elegant black and white theme of the wedding. Creative Cakes knocked it out of the park and made our vision come to life. They were so easy to work with and omg the cake tasted amazing, like seriously the lemon raspberry flavor . People kept going over to look at the cake and then grabbing their friends to come get a look, they could not stop talking about it!!! My husbands favorite memory of the night is when he put his Freddy glove on and used it to cut a piece off and feed it to me . Such a great memory of the night! One star for one delicious cake. They forgot the second cake- the important one- the smash cake for my daughters first birthday! Bottom line don't take my order and agree to the time it will be ready if you are going to completely disregard that promise. Not only was it not ready by 8pm...you wanted me to pick up the day of my noon party. Thankfully the male owner drive the one cake to our party by 11:45. He took a $20 tip (really?! I think you should be handing me some money back) and drove away without delivering the second cake. We had to chase you down the street to find out you forgot the smash cake. Not only did you forget to pack it but you forgot to make it period. Then at 1:30 you call Telling me you will delivery it to me at 3:30. Seriously?! Unacceptable. We ran to grocery store paid $25 for a cake. And all you offer is to reimburse the $25?! Wow. How long have you been in business?! Beyond disappointed. I really thought you were professionals. Far from it. Seems like you're in business to take as many orders as you can take money for. Think about the people on the other end planning months in advance for their special day. Again don't take an order if you can't offer the service. In case you forgot whose special day you disregarded- I ordered the dream catcher cake. It came broken too. read more

My Bridal Shower was this past weekend and a friend suggested we get the cake from Rockwell's Creative Cakes in Orange. I have heard so many great things about the one in Villa Park [not sure if they're related] so I was game. We went in and spoke to the 'designer' and order a Starfish/ Beach themed cake as well as 15 cupcakes. I left feeling excited! Saturday when the goodies arrived at the shower they were decorated NOTHING like we had discussed!!! I told her I liked simple and the cake was SO overdone, it looked like a birthday cake for a 7 year old girl! They used a bit of my color scheme and then added a ton of their own! My Mother had to scrape 'decorations' off the top and sprinkle with raw sugar to cover the areas...disaster!! The flavor of the Carrot cake was great, every one enjoyed it. The Cupcakes, not so much. They were assorted flavors, dry and small. They were supposed to have white cream cheese frositing and NOTHING on top ( we had ordered chocolate starfish to decortae with), but they had muticolored rock candy on Orange frosting... YUCK! All I am saying is... beware of what you are ordering vs what you are getting. I will NOT order from the bakery again!!! read more

Creative Cakes was one of the two recommended vendors for our daughters wedding last week at Turnip Rose Promenade & though we were skeptical based on some reviews, we could not have been more overjoyed with the wedding cake. Aside from being gorgeous & breathtaking everyone raved at how delicious it was. Guests are still raving about it! This is the only place to get a wedding cake. I'm not a fan of lemon cake and theirs was out of this world with no nasty aftertaste as was the case with Cinderella Cakes. THE BEST!!!!! So as the story goes, I went to a wedding during the Christmas holiday and as usual there was cake at the end. I was prepared for some dry, spongy, overly sweet cake when I was served the cake. What I got was not what I had expected. My first initial bite was hesitant and small, I just wanted to take a bite of the cake in honor of the newly weds. As I started chewing and tasting the cake, I realized that this cake wasn't like all the other horrible cakes I have had over the years. Instead, it was moist, soft, and not too sweet. I ended up finishing my cake and someone else's cake because it was so good! The cake I had was the vanilla with vanilla cream, and that cake tasted wonderful! I am not sure about the other cakes but man if they taste anything like this I would be one very hefty girl. My fiancee and I called to schedule our cake tasting which was actually really fun! Cheryll provided us with the different cake varieties along with various fillings and icings. We showed her a picture of a cake we found online decorated with trees and mountains (which was special to us because we got engaged in Big Bear during the winter) and she replicated it perfectly! On the night of our wedding, part of our cake ended up on my face but the part that ended up in my mouth was delicious (white cake with raspberry filling--so moist and flavorful!). My daughter and her fiance set out to find their wedding cake. They were getting married at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach and Creative Cakes is one of the preferred vendors. They spent a day tasting cakes and decided upon Creative Cakes, because they had the best flavors and many options. It was a great choice. My daughter wanted a lace look on the cake and Cheryl suggested we bring in some extra alencon lace we had purchased and they custom matched the cake to the lace on my daughter's wedding dress. Just enjoyed a cake from them for our daughter's engagement party. I was given friendly and reasonably prompt service. The cake was gorgeous and delicious. The box just barely fit the cake, and it would'a been nice if they'd warned my daughter to carry it ever so carefully because the frosting is perfectly applied and very soft.
