I always pass by this place and decided to try the Dubai chocolate. This was my first time ever entering a middle eastern bakery and all the baked goods in the display looked so good! The small dubai chocolate came out to $18. Was my first time trying it. It was good however I wished the strawberries were cold, would've made it more refreshing. I will say that there wasn't a menu for prices to be displayed though. Overall I would come back to try the other pastries! read more

I always pass by this and finally came to try it a few days ago, very clean and organized with their desserts. The girl working the front was very nice. At the time I came I'm not sure if they have a menu but I wasn't expecting the prices after I paid I was a little shocked but the large Dubai strawberry cup was about $23-25 I believe the smaller one is $18? It does come with a lot but I feel other places it's cheaper. They sell a variety of dessert though that I still want to try. read more

Very long line but it was worth the wait. Very kind and generous service. I especially like the gelato and the cheesecakes. The site looks very modern and it's a grab and go shop, some seating to stay for a bit. read more

If you love fruit Tart Pastries as much as I do, and hate being in a long line and dealing with the parking at Portos, please give this place a try. Theres always parking, no long line, and delicious desserts. They also have a pistachio ice cream which is so yummy. The place was also recently remodeled and a cute place to grab a dessert with a friend or family. read more

This is a small family owned pastry shop in a tiny strip mall. They have pastries, cakes, ice cream, Dubai chocolate, coffee and much more. It is small, so seating is limited. We got an opera cake, a pistachio slice and a small coffee to have right there, along with some other items to take home. All the pastry slices were good, we enjoyed them. Same goes for the Dubai chocolate cup, but it is expensive with 18 bucks for the small one. I took stars off, because we were charged for incorrect items and also overcharged for two items that we didn't buy. Coffee was correct Dubai chocolate cup was correct But ... as seen in our photos, we got a slice of opera cake, pistachio cake to eat there and a slice of mango, 2 strawberry and a coconut cake to go. That's 6 pastries, on the receipt we were charged for a total of 8! Three were listed individually and one item reads "individual cake x 5" Furthermore, we were charged for some that we didn't buy. We did not get a cheesecake, Bombay slice or fruit tart. No idea if those cost the same of what we truly got?! And considering that it's somewhat pricey to begin with, it matters when you are overcharged on top of that. Check your receipt. read more

My friend and I came here to try the Dubai chocolate covered strawberries. We shared a large and it was pretty good! The chocolate was creamy, not too sweet. I love the crunch in it too. It is a bit overpriced though, for the large I believe it was 22-23$. The bakery had a lot of yummy looking cakes, cookies, other desserts but we didn't get a chance to try them yet. Tried the Dubai chocolate covered strawberries here for the first time! I thought it was ok, but it was definitely overpriced. I got the small size and it was $17.99. The large was $22.99. The strawberries were yummy, but it wasn't worth the price in my opinion. As for the service, I think getting the strawberries quickly just depends on when you go. I arrived when someone else was already waiting for their order, so it was fast when I got it. The parking lot is also small, but I think that shouldn't be a problem! They had a lot of other pastries that look good though. I would've tried something else too but $17.99 was already enough lol, so maybe next time! read more

Service was good but I personally found the menu items to be overpraised for it's prices. I tried the Bouza and Dubai Chocolate Strawberry and found it to be...okay? It's not a menu item I'd be dying to order again. Bouza also took a while to be served. The texture of the Bouza was interesting and the Dubai chocolate strawberries were pretty underwhelming. The servings are pretty generous, though. There were undoubtedly a ton of pistachios made with each dessert, so if you get nutty for pistachios, this is the place for you. It's only got two tables, so you really have to be strategic if you're trying to dine in. Staff members were friendly, though we didn't interact much. It's located in a small plaza so parking may get a bit challenging during the busier hours. read more

We tried the small dubai chocolate strawberries for $18 and if I could eat this every day, I would! They are super generous with the toppings and the milk chocolate was perfectly melted. The strawberries were also huge, but they weren't that sweet unfortunately (not really the shop's fault). Hopefully when I try it again, the strawberries are nice and ripe :) read more

LOVEEEEE THIS PLACE! the staff and owner were friendly & accommodating! Since it was my first time there I had a lot of questions and the staff definitely took time to answer all my questions. The baklavas had no price on them because the price goes by weight. I believe one lb is about $19 ish and from what you see in my picture it's about a lb worth of sweets. Highly recommend the dubia strawberries always my go to and never disappoint I drive 3 hours from Bakersfield just to come to this pastry location and it's always my go to I've tried other spots and it's not like this one I will always make the drive !! Everyone is very nice and welcoming and they always try to have a friendly conversation with you. This place is amazing, I brought my mom once for the pastry's an she fell in love (she is really picky)... it is now our go-to for any sweet treat. The baklava is my personal favorite as well as the Dubai strawberries. The service was so sweet and amazing, they were very kind and helpful. The ambiance is also so nice I love how light, put together and clean it is. They also redid the inside and I fell in love it is so beautiful and the colors are my favorite. This shop serves authentic Arabic desserts!Bought some cookies from here (not sure what they were called) but the young lady helping me out was amazing at explaining everything! I'd say this is a neighborhood gem, hole in the wall type of place where all the locals get their sweet tooth fixes. So many incredible options for by the slice or serving desserts, baklavas by the pound, whole cakes, and the best Dubai Chocolate Strawberries and Buze pistachio ice cream. Le Mirage is the Disneyland of sweets! I preordered a 10 inch Pistachio Cake. Their ordering process on the phone is , quick and easy. When I went to pick up the cake the next day it was all ready for pick up. I also ended up buying the Dubai Chocolate Strawberries. The Dubai Chocolate Strawberries is amazing and the sweet level is perfect. The Pistachio Cake everyone at work loved it. It was delicious and refreshing all at the same time. The way the flavors came together the frosting, cream and cake blended perfectly together and created this amazing delicious cake! I highly recommend it. This review is strictly for the Dubai chocolate strawberry. Don't waste your money. What they advertise on TikTok is not what was served. It was $17.50 or somewhere around there. Just buy your own ingredients and make it at home. The pistachio and knafeh was not good. It was missing the creamy and sweet taste. It's like they just mixed tahini with knafeh and some pistachio flavoring. I gave an additional star because the cashier was nice. read more

A year after coming here to try my first booza, I still find it really amazing how something so close to my home is on Buzzfeed. I also started to like the various types of baklava being sold, and I love the bird's nest baklava. It's crunchy and reminds me of something good that I can't guess. I got the bird's nest baklava and when I posted it on my Instagram account, my friend from Lebanon asked if it was baklava and I told her it was. Le Mirage Pastry was such a lovely experience from start to finish. The dubai chocolate strawberries were refreshing and perfectly balanced. The dubai chocolate cake was incredibly moist yet light. I also got the Pistachio Baklava and another one that looks like fingers, both sweet and light - so yummy! My sister ordered the mango and dubai choc gelato and loved it - rich, flavorful and satisfying. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was so kind. He asked us how we found his shop, and we told him we google "dubai chocolate" and his bakery popped up with great reviews. He was so proud - as he should be! His daughter was also very friendly and patiently answered all of our questions. This was our first time visiting a Middle Eastern bakery, and we were truly impressed. The shop was very clean, and every bake good was beautifully displayed. You can really feel the care and pride behind this business. We love to support family-owned business. Maher Nakhal, who runs a bakery called Le Mirage Pastry, in Anaheim, California, grew up in Damascus eating at Bakdash once a week, a promised treat at the end of days spent shopping with his family. The fifty-five-year-old has been a baker since his late teens, and came to the United States in 1992 at the invitation of his sister. In 2003, he opened his bakery, at the north end of Anaheim's Little Arabia district. More than twenty-five thousand people, primarily of Syrian, Lebanese, Palestinian, and Egyptian descent, live around a four-mile stretch of the district's main thoroughfare, Brookhurst Street, making it one of the largest Middle Eastern enclaves in the United States. Hookah lounges, mosques, kebab houses, and Arab grocery stores occupy shopping plazas that also host tattoo parlors, smoke shops, and car alarm stores. Inside, there are tons of stuff from the Levant, spices, halal gummies, imported chocolates, homemade Dubai chocolate, and a huge selection of Turkish delights and roasted nuts made by them. They also have a wide variety of baklava and fresh knafeh right there ready to cut, which is a sweet cheese dessert with a fun kataifi crunch. The gentleman who helped me was very kind, though there was a slight language barrier. He let me try a bunch of nuts when I inquired - and I sort of had to, since several varieties were unlabeled, or just had a sign for what they were, or what the flavor was, but not vice versa. The nuts were good and seemed like a good and healthy snack to bring into a theme park or to have at home. I thought the flavors I tried were hard to distinguish from another after a while, and subtle. I had the fresh Dubai chocolate and thought it was pretty nice, distinctly bitter, nutty, moist, with tons of fresh kataifi crunch. You do have to keep it refrigerated though, as I assume it's made with ingredients that wouldn't hold well together at room temperature - typically a better sign in terms of paleo diets if you've ever made paleo chocolates for yourself. It's a bit atypical from other Dubai chocolate as the filling quantity here is uniquely generous. It's very rare to see a cute, almost timeless shop like this, containing lots of traditional and authentic goods. Would enjoy revisiting to try their coffee and the nearby food.

With how hot California weather is, I do recommend picking it up later in the day when it's not going to melt or taking it back to your hotel so it can be in the A/C.
