STEER CLEAR. Save yourself SO much money and aggravation (plus a terrible bedside manner and…read moreunsatisfactory results), and just GO. SOMEWHERE. ELSE. Cannot stress it enough, but we're still dealing with the aftermath of visiting this office years ago.

I write this for anyone considering cosmetic dental work at this office. In March of 2021 I started…read morethe process of having veneers done my two front teeth with Dr Segal. I was told the process would take a couple weeks during my consultation. I did not end up with satisfactory veneers until July of 2021. During the time frame between March-July, I had 10 appointments at the office during this time frame. They grossly mishandled my case from admitting to using the wrong lab to having a technician apply the veneers (not the dentist) at my 2nd to last visit in 2021. Even after finally getting the shape and shade correct, one of the veneers fell off weeks later. In January of 2024, one of the veneers chipped and fell off. I came back in and was asked if the chip bothered me. I said no and was charged to have the veneer rebonded to my teeth. The veneer fell off again a couple weeks later. I came back again to have rebounded. Weeks later the veneer fell off again...I decided to get a second, third and 4th opinion from 2 other dentists and dental lab. Turns out the actual structure of the veneer was damaged and needed to be redone....Dr Segal and team never told me this. Dr Segal's lack of adequate care caused me unnecessary time and money loss. The whole experience was traumatic and to top it off, his bedside manner came off as uncaring and disinterested. I had to go to another (wonderful) dentist office to have the veneers completely redone and they were able to complete the work in one day at a fraction of a cost that this office charged for sub par work. Don't be fooled by the lovely office staff and updated office. My experience was a nightmare.

I loved my old Dentist and hygienist, two people I've gone to twice a year for close to twenty years. I started researching Dentists that accepted my new insurance and found Dr. Fournier's office. Then, while flossing (proof I floss), I ripped out an old filling. I called this office to set up an appointment and they told me November was for hygiene checks, about five months from now. A great sign that they are busy, but I explained I had an issue. They told me they could see me sooner for that, so we set an appointment for Monday. The staff were friendly, but after meeting Dr. Fournier, I knew I had my next dentist. Her personality was amazing, bedside manner was perfect. They had to drill and fill my tooth today, no lie, I think I was out of there in fifteen minutes... She kind of joked about how I am with Dentists, am I nervous, am I okay with needles, all sorts of questions, because we don't know each other. When I was injected, she told me to breathe out and breathe in. Did that work? When I had that tooth drilled before, I teared up. Not from pain, but because that spot was connected somehow to my left eye's tear duct... Did the breathing work? Maybe? After my appointment, they told me there were some cancellations the week of the Fourth of July, so no more November check. I'll be back this month. The only two things that make me nervous are having to make a left out of that parking lot. I could make a right and find my way home, but I feel it could not be good at rush hour. No issues today. The second thing is that I have an internal dread that Dr. Fournier is going to retire someday while I still need dental work... I don't want to find someone new. I also befriended everyone in my HR department to ensure they won't switch insurance on me again...

When I discovered I had deep periodontal pockets, I went into full research mode. Most…read moreperiodontists I found had either horror stories in their reviews or a mixed bag I wasn't willing to gamble on. Not with what I now know is at stake. Here's why this mattered so much to me: I recently learned I have elevated Lp(a), a genetic marker for cardiovascular risk. One in 5 people have it and most don't know because doctors don't routinely test for it. And the bacteria that thrive in deep periodontal pockets, Porphyromonas gingivalis and Fusobacterium nucleatum, are directly linked to the same things that could kill me. Research has found P. gingivalis in the brains of Alzheimer's patients and in arterial plaque in 100% of cardiovascular disease patients studied. F. nucleatum has been identified in colorectal cancer tumors. These bacteria cause systemic inflammation, which is the last thing someone with genetic cardiovascular risk needs circulating through their body. And research shows that traditional scaling and root planing alone can leave 15% or more of bacteria behind in deep pockets and dentinal tubules. For someone like me, that wasn't acceptable. A note to anyone reading this: Lp(a) significantly increases your lifetime risk of heart attack, stroke, and aortic valve disease. You can't lower it with diet or exercise. It's not included in a standard lipid panel. If you don't know your number, ask for the test. It could save your life and change how you approach your entire health, including your dental care. Because if you have this marker, bacteria hiding deep in periodontal pockets aren't just a dental problem. They're actively increasing your already elevated cardiovascular risk. So I did what I do: I researched. Extensively. I wasn't just looking at reviews. I dug into Dr. Hatam's entire background. Where she studied, where she trained, her credentials, her approach to periodontal care. I was willing to drive far outside my area if I had to. But Dr. Hatam checked every box. And then she exceeded my expectations before I even walked through the door. I left an after hours message expressing urgency, and she personally called me back while the office was closed. That one gesture told me everything about her ethics and her genuine concern for patients. Most doctors wouldn't bother. She did. I explained my concerns, and Dr. Hatam didn't dismiss me or rush me. She listened, truly heard me, and agreed to perform a laser assisted deep cleaning to maximize bacterial elimination. The day of my procedure, I was filled with anxiety. Dr. Hatam dismantled that anxiety with a combination of professionalism, genuine care, and (I have to mention this) a sense of humor. She read me perfectly, knowing I was the type of patient she could joke around with, even poke a little fun at, to put me at ease. And it worked. She has this warmth that she just exudes. One of those rare people you meet in life and intuitively know is good to the core. Her bedside manner is matched only by her expertise. You feel genuinely cared for, not processed. She naturally puts you at ease in a way that can't be taught. Here's the thing: Dr. Hatam doesn't need my review. Her portfolio of five star reviews (she has a couple hundred on Google) speaks for itself. But I'm writing this anyway because when you find a doctor like this in life, you hold onto them forever. And you tell other people. As for insurance? Most plans cover at least a portion if not all of periodontal treatment, and Dr. Hatam's office will submit the bill to your insurance. But honestly, even if mine covered nothing, I wouldn't care. Getting rid of cancer linked, dementia linked, inflammation causing bacteria is priceless. If I could go back in time and tell my non flossing self (yes, I'm embarrassed to admit I was never a flosser) what we now know about the oral microbiome, that it's just as important as your gut microbiome for overall health and cancer prevention, I would. But I can't turn back time. What I can do is take action now, and Dr. Hatam made that possible. Find her. Keep her. You won't regret it.

I'm not sure there could be a more perfect and professional dental organization out there. After a…read morelifetime of various dentists, periodontists and surgeons having found this wonderful place has been a godsend. Dr Hatam is beyond the best. I hesitate to write this in fear of letting the secret out.... But it's so well deserved. But on top of just the exceptional care; every single person that works in this office is an A player. From the front desk to the dentists and hygienists they are all the best. Ask for Nicole as well, she rocks!
