Quick backstory: I went balayage-blonde with brown roots in January 2017 and kept it that way until September when I had it dyed teal at an Ulta salon. The stylist refuse to bleach my natural Roots and only offered to do highlights, which is not the look I was going for. So I took my chances that perhaps the brown bits (at least 6" worth) would take the teal color and it would just be an ombre effect. This more or less happened but the teal washed very quickly out of the brown, so it looked like I just had teal-dipped hair. I then attempted to bleach my roots myself but even using toner, I could not match the teal & the original teal obviously turned more blue. However, I did get some compliments and I had fun with it but I quickly grew tired of the frankly unprofessional look. I wasn't sure where to go so I looked at some Yelp reviews and found Jessica. Jessica took my hair from teal to a very vibrant pink-crimson. In order to do this, she had to do an all over bleach twice, put in a toner, and prepped my hair before finally dyeing it. She initially explained this process and continued to explain the entire time, never wavering from the plan. She was professional and friendly, as was her assistant who was learning by her side, and she even stayed later then required to get the job done in one sitting. After spending almost $500 on the Balayage in January, I was expecting an enormous bill but instead it was only slightly higher than I normally pay to get my hair colored usually! Not only that, but more importantly, my hair feels healthy! She took steps to make sure that it wasn't damaged and my hair feels like nothing was done to it; it feels like normal hair! It's even healthier than when it was first bleached & dyed blonde. I had my hair dyed before I took a work-vacation to New York so I could have confidence as I walked the city. I am not exaggerating when I say that strangers literally stopped me on the sidewalk (sometimes even in the crosswalk) in New York to compliment my hair. This didn't just happen once or twice but almost a dozen times! So, if "high fashion New Yorkers" love my hair, then I'm pretty sure I have amazing hair! I love what she's done, I love that she listened and asked questions for clarification, and I love that she was knowledgeable in her art. I highly recommend Jessica and can't wait to go back and refresh my color when the time comes! I wanted it cut the way I had a couple years ago (at another salon), which was my favorite cut, as it had a lot of body and depth for straight, thin hair that I do not style whatsoever. I was looking around for hair salons to get a good "wavy" perm, but for a reasonable price. So I looked on Yelp! and I found Jessica Tran at Royal Clip. First it was a bit hard to find because it was hidden next to the Publix off of Pleasant Hill Road. I'm Asian, so for me, I only wanted to have someone who has worked with Asian hair before. I also have never had a perm before since I have virgin hair (never bleached, highlighted, or colored), so I wanted someone who would know how my hair would be. I called in on July 4th to see if I could get it done that day and fortunately she was able to take me in on that holiday. I wasn't rushed or anything and she gave me a lot of information about perms when I arrived. Jessica told me she has been a hairdresser for about 10 years now and she loves what she does. She asked me how my hair is like, what I did to it, and what I did the last time I cut my hair. I showed her some pictures of what kind of waves I wanted for my perm and after just a couple minutes of explaining what I wanted, she put me in her chair right away. She loves to talk to her clients and loves to learn new things about them. She was polite and still executed a great haircut. She trimmed my hair, washed it, set the perm, rinsed and styled my hair including an eyebrow wax that I wanted all for $110. I think that's a pretty good deal compared to other places I've seen. After about 2 long hours of doing a perm, she was still patient with me when I asked if I could also get my eyebrows waxed after. I knew it's a holiday and they were closing early on July 4th, but she was very willing. For the perm, she told me what I had to do to achieve the look that I wanted, what kind of product to use (oil) to keep my hair hydrated and to be kept in good condition. I asked her about different perms such as a steam perm and she told me all about it. She is very knowledgeable in what she does! I highly recommend her if you are trying to find someone who knows what they're doing and also does a great job at it! I will post a photo of the perm I had from her. Today, I achieved the simple waves that I wanted! I have had a lot of compliments on my curls and they looked fantastic! She is also good at eyebrows! Overall, I would recommend her for a any cut or perm, just as long as you explain to her what exactly you want and show a couple pictures, you're set! It's hard to find good hairdressers that will help you achieve the hair that you want. She is one of them! :) read more

I'm really really picky when it comes to haircuts. My childhood friend hairstylist is moving back to MN so that means I had to find someone else to take her place. I haven't had a haircut in 2.5 years. I was ready to donate my hair. My daughter's hair is thick and not many people know how to work with it. Since my hair was super long and I wanted to donate my hair to Pantene Beautiful Length for American Cancer Society. I liked how she parted my hair, in 6, to cut it different lengths because the new do will have many layers. Jessica looked at my hair and already knew how my hair is. She said the long hair is weighing my hair down and making it flat at the scalps, so true. When I showed her the photo how I wanted my hair to be. She already knew what to do. She said it would make my hair more stylish. When she was done, she said I looked so much younger and this style suit me. As for my daughter, she has very, very thick hair. Her hair gets thicker but not longer. She thinned it out very nicely. My daughter has not had a shorter hair cut in a long time and she absolutely loved her hair. On top of knowing what to do, she cut and styled BOTH my daughter's hair and mine in an hour!! She is very affordable too. I paid less to have it cut and style than at Van Micheal's from a beginner. Seriously. When I got home and hubby saw me, he complimented my hairstyle. He said this is the best he's ever seen of me. This haircut is perfect for me. Thank you Jessica. You are awesome. My daughter also loves her haircut and style. She asked if we could come back in a few months so she could get her hair trimmed. Most of my friends prefer me with shorter hair and loooooved it.
