The system in place does not work well for the price $50 for gel pedicure absolutely my second trip I had to ask her to to work on the skin. I am unable to do my own. I would much rather pay for a pedicure than the $50 co-pay to go to a podiatrist. I'm truly disappointed because I the boutique nail is a little cramped and you do have climb stairs don't arrive early because the chair outside the door is very uncomfortable to sit in! on the first floor they're very friendly they greet you as you come in not connected with the nail salon ! I love to shop small I patronize small businesses as much as humanly possible and avoid the big boxes and the the women that talk about their native tongue. I'm not about to go somewhere and use a translator to know what they're saying that's a terrible practice.

I wasn't extra hard on my nails I did normal every day stuff I do. Because Gel X is a softer tip I can understand if a tip was too narrow for my nail bed and it cracked from that but 5 nails?! I told her I would be there first thing in the morning when they opened. I got to the salon when it opened. The man was very nice and did a great job replacing the 5 nails. About 30 minutes later the lady who originally did my nails came in. After the man was done she asked him a question about my nails. Even though it wasn't in English I knew because he shook his hair and pointed to the top of his nail. He repeated himself a couple times and kept pointing to his finger so I can only assume he was reiterating that my nails were cracked. The station I was told to sit at when I had to go back was dirty from the day before. Clipped tips were all over the floor, the towel from the day before was on the station with clippings and acrylic drops. The tools from both visits were not clean and rusty. The nail brushes to wash your nails were all first and has that reddish algae that builds up at the base. I gave 2 stars because the man to redid my nails was very nice! I will definitely not be going back to that salon.

On Sunday October 8, 2017 I went in with my 10 month old daughter who was in a stroller. I don't bring her usually but I have maybe twice in the past. Also I have seen other kids here plenty of times, kids that were running around being loud also behind the workers station. On this day the owner came out and whispered that there is a new policy "NO KIDS ALLOWED" I said really, because there was a child sitting with her mother while she was getting a pedicure across the room? I also stated I have brought my baby a couple other times and NEVER been told this. He was talking low and stated its a new policy that is not posted because he didn't want it to look bad for his business. I stated no you mean no black peoples kids allowed, then he did not want to talk anymore. I also asked the girl Nancy who does my nails and has seen my daughter with me and none of the workers have ever said no kids allowed to tell the owner my child has been there before and reluctantly she did. I was a customer VIP he refused my last service that I paid for, told me to take my child home then I could be served. I work, I work for the National Guard and I am a Detention Officer. The only complaint I have is that my appointment was at 6pm and they close at 7pm and I could tell they fully rushed my nail process. They got the entire set done in 45 minutes. I understand they were closing soon but they shouldn't accept appointments that late if they plan to rush the client out of the place. A few days into the nails and they started to lift. Wednesday the 20th two nails popped off perfectly with little effort. Almost every single other nail was lifting at the cuticle, my hair was getting caught in them and they were painfully lifting and I knew they wouldn't last much longer. I called La Bella today the 20th (so I only had the nails on for 6 days, to my knowledge builder gel can last up to 3-5 weeks). I called La Bella today asking for an appointment to get them fixed. The hostess that answered the phone was very nice and she told me they would most likely fix the nails for free because that was not supposed to happen. I went in tonight around 5pm at my scheduled appointment and I asked for dip nails instead because dip is what I was used to and I know they last. I was happy with my appointment the nail tech seemed to take her time and I loved my new nails. But I was very annoyed when I checked out when they tried to charge me the full price of dip nails which was 65 dollars. I asked to speak to a manager and explained the situation. He told me it was not acceptable that the nails only lasted 6 days. He said he would charge me $45 instead. I didn't fight or fuss and I paid the full price. I am extremely annoyed there was no communication that the previous hostess told me the nails would be on the house and I feel like as a business they should've fixed their mistake. I fully planned on tipping my nail tech a good tip for redoing my nails and ensuring they were a good set. I don't know if I will be back to La Bella because of this experience and it saddens me because I truly love this place.

The pumices used were like disposable yellow pads that. While these single use items are more sanitary...they do have kind of a cheap appearance and don't perform as well as products Ive had used during past pedicures in other shops. They don't massage your legs and feet for very long. They have a good selection of choices for polishes. Their pedicure seats do appear to be newer. They are clean and comfortable with option to massage you while you ate serviced. It wasn't horrible, but I think there are better shops out there for the price. More attention to detail would pay off especially since they don't seem to be busy. They do have a loyalty program and gave us $10 gift certificates for our first visit to use on a future visit within the next month or so.
