Gabby at the front office is helpful and friendly. Nothing on the list of items submitted were fixed, but the property was okay. Got to love '80s carpet... Drove into the parking lot to turn in my keys. I missed closing hours by 3 minutes, but one of the ladies that works in the back walked out. I went to ask her a question, but before I could finish a word she shouted, "We're closed!" with a little spit shooting out and waddled to her car. She then proceeded to nearly ram my car and lay on her horn. She got out of her car and began to verbally abuse my girlfriend in the car then threaten me, "Are you a tenant here?..." All I wanted to do was turn in my keys. The next lady was nice and she said I could drop them in the drop box. Glad to leave the property. read more

Gave me a blank look when I spoke of the property, did not attempt to look it up on computer and was insistent in not helping or answering any questions! Too bad! I am a greater renter! My Daughter is working towards a graduate degree and needed a place to stay. We applied for a small studio in Carmel represented by this management company. They took our $70 application fee, disqualified me on the application (must live in the property which was something not mentioned in the ad or application), did not process our application, return phones calls or questions. This review has nothing to do with being accepted/rejected (there was no communication), it is entirely based on a complete lack of professionalism/ethics exhibited by this company (see other reviews). Their properties are poorly maintained with black mold in multiple places, 10 year old carpet, lost my rent check, and many other issues. The owner accused me of fraud and sole money from my deposit. The lady at the front office who is a heavy set Hispanic woman is the most disrespectful and rude property manager I have encountered. When I went into the office the lady didn't have time to answer my questions. Additionally, the unit that we rented is completely outdated and needs extensive upgrades. I walked by a rental property that had signs all over stating that the property was available. I called and left a message and Kevin returned the call later in the day. We scheduled an appointment for today at 11:00AM and I went there and waited. No show by C&C. I called the office and Kevin answered the phone and shared with me that the appointment had been cancelled and oh by the way - they received a rental application yesterday that was accepted. Do you think that they could have been more professional and called to share with me LAST NIGHT that the place had been rented, instead of lying about the appointment being cancelled? My boyfriend & I have been looking for places for a while now. We applied for a place that was ok for the price and we loved everything about it. As we stayed in contact with them after being denied which was totally reasonable, all these apartments were far more than disgusting, one we previously viewed had a hub cap hanging in the tree, oil in a water jug not being disposed of, which is hazardous. Also the balcony on one of the places was completely corroded with termites and the stairs leading up to the apartment were pretty much falling apart. The neighbors had a poor bird that was not suppose to be outside a gorgeous bird and obviously they do not care, also at another location the bathrooms were corroded with mold and baking soda to cover it up. It just is something we are not looking for, for our first place. Sad how greedy people and management companies can be and get away with. read more

All the negative reviews the you see speak the truth! They only keep " positive reviews" And the report to Yelp to delete negative comments ! There is nothing positive about this company. The blond arrogant women in office will lie to your face and does not care to help anyone .... They want money for your background check but can't even get that right. When I asked, several days after submitting an application for a status her if she has some information about the status of that property she said "I'm qualified to get that apartment but she could not reach my landlord." The gave the apartment to some one else. I found out that no one from creative called my landlord. Then came a second lie when confronted why she never contacted. She said she tried, but couldn't get a hold of me. She said she tried a couple times. She had two of my emails my cell phone and my parents phone and has the audacity to say I tried to contact you. That was the most boldfaced lie I received from a person I paid just for the chance to get in a apartment. The company is way to lazy to work for the money. CPM has been managing my property for over 20 years! Occupancy has been high and all problems have been handled well. All my monthly reports have been on time and accurate. I've had rental properties for a long time and I know dealing with tenants can be difficult. Creative property management is a very dishonest company. if you can find any other place, don't rent from them. they find every means to rip you off, like charging you $25 for later fee if you do not write your address on the check, even though you pay the rent on time, even though it is not on your contract. When you move out, don't bother to clean the apartment. They are going to lie on your face, saying the place was not clean here and there, and they hired someone else, which charges twice the amount you pay for any other cleaning company, to clean the place for another 3 or 4 hours. Oh, don't forget to clean up the range hood filter. they will charge you $11.87 for it, even though it is a normal use and wear. And if you move in, double check if the balcony and blinds are clean or not, or they charge you for cleaning up the dust in the balcony and on the blinds, when you move out. Their customer service girl is always rude, giving people the feeling that everyone is owning them money. The manager could shout with you on the phone and hang up your phone if she does not want to talk, or she knows she is wrong. DO NOT rent from this management company!! We wish we had read all the negative reviews before renting. They are "creative" about finding ways to steal your money. Do not ever expect to get your deposit back and you can count on additional ridiculous charges. I tried to be as objective as I can while providing useful insight for the others who may have dealings with the company.*** I had an encounter with this company while I was looking for a place to live a few years ago. I viewed several of their properties because they were less expensive than the other units in the market. However, all of their properties appeared not well managed. Paints on the buildings and interior were peeling off and the premise of the properties, both inside and outside, were not clean. I was not too concerned with these issues as I was trying to find a place cheaper. Major issue I had with them was that they did not allow me to do a pre-signing inspection of the house. After my application was accepted, I asked if I could see the place once more to record the condition. They gave me numerous excuses and even said that they did not have any keys to the house. Then they coerced me to go and sign the contract by stating that if they allow inspection, they will have to allow others to view the property and I will lose my offer. So reluctantly, I went to their office. I then found that the statement of condition stated that everything was in "ex," excellent condition, which was not true. The excellent condition, they explained, was better than used and having usual wear and tear. From my viewing, I knew it was not true. When I pointed out specifically what was wrong with the house and how there was a discrepancy with the statement of condition, they refused to change it and said that I have 1 week to make note of the house and turn it in for them to file. At that point, I left the office and never went back. Also, they don't accept cash payment. The reason is simple: there is no trust between the owner of the company and his employee. And this speaks volume about the owner because he hires employees that he does not trust. May be this has to do with the low quality of their customer service. If I am not paid well, I am not going to work hard either. Another thing that strike me odd about the company was that they don't list any of the names or contact of the personnel who works there including the owner himself, despite being a small company. Perhaps, the owner does not want to associate his name with the company? Of course these are my speculations but the facts are there and signal multiple red flags for me. I just can imagine how they are going to exploit the tenants by making a false claim about the initial condition of the house. I read other views and now I know that to be the case. Yelp tries to hide most of the negative reviews so it is very difficult to know the truth about the place. I have never written a review before... let alone a negative one. Yet Creative Property Management has spurred me into action. Being new to the rental market, my girlfriend and I went in the first day with some questions regarding the application process. The woman at the front desk had an entirely closed matter, and continued talking on the phone with her friend despite my waiting in a chair. In her defense, she did say "Is there anything else." (emphatic period, not really meant in a interrogative way). She said this a couple times, but the event happened only momentarily, between pauses in her phone conversation. After leaving, we realized we needed clarity on what documents were necessary so we called to inquire. The next day we went back, confident we had everything necessary. As was painfully obvious to the staff inside, we didn't. So we went home to print out what we needed, obediently, like students. The final day I walked in alone and was greeted with "We have bad news for you." I told them, and I stressed I was trying to be constructive" that if we were made aware, on the first day, of all the materials necessary (which is a terrifyingly identify fraud-inducing amount personal information), we might have been able to successfully submit an application. To this, a blond woman with horn-rimmed glasses came out of a back room and began yelling at me. She told me they would never ever, with legal precedent, rent to someone like me. It was all very shocking, to be honest. All this, while I was on break from my full time job. Among her insults was "delusions of grandeur," which I thought had a phenomenally ironic ring. I wish to say I do not want to be hateful, this experience just pushed me to respond. I am a firm believer in the causal effects of optimism and positive energy, I believe that any positive action or vocalization affects the receiver positively. My hope is that through constantly striving for positive action, thought, and word, I can positively affect those around me, and that they will have a correspondingly positive effect their friends and strangers. This applies to a simple smile, Weaving a couple simple words. Generally being pleasant and constructive, even in criticism. If that is my delusion, then I hope it does become grand. read more

These people will do anything to take your deposit. Do not rent from them. At the time of move out they will find every excuse to want to take your deposit. They wanted to charge me for putting trash in the dumpster when I moved out. The trash was mainly food from cleaning the refrigerator, old broom and cleaning supplies... When you move out you are supposed to put trash in the dumpster to get the apartment clean. There were loud neighbors while I was there. The apartment quality is horrible you can hear everything that is going on upstairs. You can even hear when someone walks on the floor. I regret renting from them. When I turned my keys in the apartment was move in ready, but yet they charge me for unclean carpet when it was clean because I didn't turn a stupid receipt in. They refuse to do a move out inspection when you move out. They just said turn the keys in. A few days ago, I went to the Creative Property Management Building to get an application for an apartment. When I went through the doors I was wearing a smile and was nicely asking a question to the lady at the desk. i think her name is Gabby. Gabby was rude and she wasn't talking in a nice tone to me. Her tone was if she had better things to do than help me. Most people at front desks talk nicely to people who are asking questions but she wasn't. I would not rent from Creative Property management. We kept our rental house very clean and they reamed us when it was time to move out of the property. We were charged for very petty charges such as their claim there was a flea infestation in the garage and a cleaning fee to clean 1980's white shag carpeting. I called Creative Property Management about a recent rental property they were advertising on Zillow, Trulia, and Craigslist. Gabby was the name on the advert and Gabby answered my call. She wasn't particularly helpful on the phone as I had to ask a few questions about the application process, their website, and their office location. I liked the property so I stopped by their office immediately afterward in order to apply. When I walked in the office I asked for the application and Gabby just pointed silently to the opposite wall where the applications were located. I asked politely to borrow a pen, so Gabby again pointed silently to a group of pens on her desk. There weren't any pens by the applications, so I thought her gesture and silence was particularly rude. I told a friend who is also moving to Monterey about this interaction and he said he had a poor interaction with Gabby as well. After I applied I asked how long the application approval/disapproval process normally takes. Gabby stated twice that it takes 2-3 days. She missed that window, but did call on the 5th full business day after I submitted the application. By then I had applied and secured housing elsewhere since I thought no news is bad news after 5 business days. As a comparison, both my friend and I were approved for our chosen properties in a single evening with near immediate application feedback. Creative does manage a large inventory, but so does the company managing my new house. If I was a homeowner in the Monterey Bay area, I think I would want my property management team to act a little faster so that good renters don't default to an alternate plan. Also, as a renter I think I would have concerns about Creative's response time to repairs or maintenance issues if they can't even stay within a 2-3 day application turnaround period. Don't rent from these people unless you're cool with rent going up $100 EVERY YEAR YOU'RE HERE even if you're a good tenant! The washers and dryers rarely work and eat your coins 95% of the time, there is no garbage disposal, no dishwasher. They seem all nice until you're in but after your lease is up that's when they start hiking your rent. They rarely return calls but if you're so much as a day late with rent they're calling threatening and harassing you within hours. For $1650 (which will predictably go up to somewhere around $1800 by JUNE) I expect to at the very least have a washer and dryer that are in working order ALL of the time. Do the math. Look at how many properties they own and how much they collect EVERY MONTH ON EVERY SINGLE APARTMENT and then justify anything being less than pristine for renters. Sickening. Sad part is that most other places are like this too. All they want to do is get you in, and collect. read more
