Recently used Monterey Bay rentals to help us find a great house to vacation for a few days. Love them they made it super easy to find a great house. Customer service was excellent and followed up to see how our stay was. I highly recommend the property we rented it was right across the street looking over the ocean. We got to watch whales go by and seals laying on the beach with their babies. We were walking distance from canary row and the outlets ( not much of an outlet though). The house had everything we needed , it was clean with comfy beds. While the deck wasn't wide it was long enough for 10 people to have pizza and wine over looking the ocean waves!

if you're looking to book a vacation rental and want a painless way to do so, monterey bay property management is a great choice. i had looked at hotels, airbnb, craigslist, etc before finally settling on monterey bay rentals. they have the easiest booking policy, are extremely responsive, and will take care of any issues during your stay. they will also periodically check in to see how you're doing. i loved that they have an easy reservation system (online), great photos that really represent their properties well, a large selection of properties (condos to large mansions), and properties are priced right (some cheaper than hotel stays). i worked with michelle larkins and stayed at the ocean habor beach house, which was literally right on the beach. i had a few issues to start, and they were addressed within 24 hrs. i even requested a few items which they promptly provided. coordinating keys to check in and out is easy - you pick up at their location and drop off at their location. *** one issue that i didnt like was the reservation charge and mandatory housekeeping fee, which if you stay awhile adds up.*** overall recommended!

Beautiful view from the deck. Great backyard for our furry friends too!

I have been very fortunate to work with Chad and have always found him to be knowledgeable, professional and has a friendly disposition. I really appreciate his ability to interact with tenants for issue and problem resolution. Last week the next door neighbor had some tree trimming done which needed access from my property. The trimmers talked with my tenant, who then called Chad and within 5 minutes he was there and FaceTime called me for real time decision making. I call that great service!

At that point, it stops feeling like a mistake and starts feeling like a complete disregard for customers and their travel plans. I had already invested time planning my trip and relied on the reservation being honored. Instead, I was left scrambling to find alternative accommodations while rates elsewhere had increased. A confirmation should mean something. Apparently, with Pacific Grove Rentals, it doesn't. What is most concerning is the lack of accountability. Rather than standing behind a confirmed booking and making the situation right, the reservation was simply canceled, leaving me to deal with the consequences. That is not how a reputable vacation rental company operates. The entire experience felt unprofessional, unreliable, and incredibly frustrating. If you value your vacation plans and don't want to risk having your reservation canceled after you've already made arrangements, I would strongly recommend booking with a different company. A company's true character is revealed when something goes wrong. Based on my experience, Pacific Grove Rentals failed that test completely.

Toddler Notes for the Hotel: [[ Pro's ]] 1.) The room we got on the 3rd floor corner was very spacious and had a ton of room. We were able to set up a pack and play and still had a generous amount of room left to walk around. 2.) Blackout shades and see-through shades for double coverage which keeps the room nice and dark at night. 3.) Location is great as it's super close to Cannery Row, lots of restaurants, and Monterey Bay Aquarium which was our ultimate destination. 4.) Parking Garage is free and decently sized and can fit a mid-size SUV with no issues. It will get tighter if you have a humongous full-SUV though (see pictures). [[ Con's ]] 1.) So Many STAIRS. Like legitimately, there are so many stairs. I took a ton of pictures to give you an idea. Stairs coming down from the elevator, stairs between floors, etc. This is not very young kid friendly when you have a stroller, a bunch of kid items, etc. I'm not sure I would stay here again due to the amount of stairs and inconvenience. 2.) Noise Level - If your kid is sensitive to noise, be prepared to have a ton of sound machines because you really could hear a ton of things. Cars, honking, other people's rooms, etc. 3.) Shower - It did seem a bit rusty in certain places and our shower wouldn't drain so there was a big puddle the whole time we were showering. The steam also set off the fire alarm like another person mentioned. Quick conclusion - I think it's an okay IHG hotel but not very good for families with young kids. Good for the location though.

At the time of my booking, Monterey county had not decided to shut down so I was able to keep the reservation during the entire week I was there even though the day after I arrived, no restaurants were open for in-person dining. (What luck!) The resort is very nondescript. You don't even know that you have arrived because the signs aren't displayed very conspicuously and the building shares space with some other businesses, including a restaurant on the ground floor. There are also no designated check-in spaces in front where you can park & check in. I had to call the front desk to tell them I had arrived at 11:58 AM (after a tiring 6 hour drive). The front desk rep (I forget her name, but she was a redhead), who seemed very annoyed, told me that I was lucky that she was at the desk because she was just leaving for lunch & there would have been no one to greet me in her place! (My first sign that the service at this place would be below expectations!) I asked her where I could park. She told me that she would meet me at the parking garage gate which could only be accessed by a remote control fob which she would have to give me. I met her with my car at the gate as she requested. She handed me through my car window a Ziploc bag with what she said was "all I need to know about the hotel" and proceeded to leave. I quickly asked her if she could spend a little more time to explain a few things to me so I could get better oriented in this place having just arrived from 400 miles away; specifically as to where I could park, where my room was situated, where the elevator was, etc. It wasn't even clear how to open the gate with the fob. She very hurriedly & very annoyedly rattled off a few selective answers to my questions & went on her way. I had to struggle to rip open the Ziploc bag & read the instructions while I was stuck outside the gate of the parking garage with people waiting behind me...... This wasn't the friendly first class greeting I was expecting from a resort that is supposed to be a "Premier Resort" according to Interval International. It turns out that the garage is the only way to access the hotel, which had no lobby and no direct access from the street, which was very odd! This means that you have to carry around the fob everywhere you go, even if you are just walking around the hotel. In addition, during multiple times during the day, you could not even access the floor which housed the tiny office because of their very rigid Covid restrictions. I never even got to see the office during my entire week stay. Any questions I had were communicated by phone. After this very rocky check-in, I was ready to start enjoying myself. When I got to the room, which was a 1 Bedroom suite, I was impressed with how large it was. It had a peek-a-boo view of the bay as well which was nice , especially on crystal clear days even though the bay was about 4 blocks away. The living area had a nice large couch set in front of a large screen TV . The room also had a large dining room table and a full kitchen. The furniture was a bit outdated but sufficient for our purposes. The room also had a small loft with a small chair & a table, which seemed a waste of space to me. (I was told that this is for parents to get some alone time?). The bedroom, which was furnished with a nice comfortable bed, small table & chair was also a nice size. There was also an abundance of storage space (designed for a large family, not for a childless couple as we were). There were some minor repair issues right off the bat which I was able to get resolved but all-in-all the room was very nice. In the time that we were there when the restaurants were actually opened, I was able to book at some great restaurants known for their seafood. I particularly loved the Wild Fish & PassionFish. Also worth mentioning is a great Portuguese bakery called Pavel's which is always packed & open only until they run out of their last pastry for the day, which could be pretty early in the day. Everything there is truly mouthwatering & worth every penny (Don't expect a bargain!) The tarts especially are not to be missed! The location of the resort is also convenient to Monterey & Carmel which are both spectacular and worth the drive.

We arrived very early on our day of arrival and they were able to accommodate us immediately. They were cheerful and helpful as they did so. Each time we had interactions with them it was very pleasant. The location is great. It is probably 2 1/2 blocks from some super ocean views. The units are not new, large, nor are they luxurious. We were in a 1BR cottage with a Murphy bed. The kitchen was well stocked but, again, not new and not large. We were gone much of the time but always cooked breakfast and a few dinners without any issues. Four people fit in this unit without issues.
