    I'm in the same boat with the other one-star reviewers. Our VRBO rental was carelessly managed and discheveOur check-in process was confusing. And we received ZERO response via text or phone call after asking for help, as well as requesting info on some items we thought we left behind. Add insult to injury, when I dropped off our keys and politely offered some constructive feedback, I just got robotic smiles and nods, with a glazed look that pretty much said, "We don't really care. Have a nice day." ::TO THE BUSINESS OWNER'S PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE RESPONSE:: 1. There was no broken bed. 2. The cheap vertical blind's fascia flew off as we tried to open them. Again...cheap. 3. Re: check-in/out process...We received detailed emails which failed to point out the unlocked box our keys would be waiting in at the office. Also, thanks for "looking" for my items left behind. We did end up finding them, however I don't think it's too much to expect a call, text or email response. Michelle Larkin (the property manager) didn't reply to a single text or phone call from day one. THAT is bad management and bad customer service. In summary, the $2.5 million house we stayed in makes Motel 6 seem posh. Yes, the view, the location, and even the kitchen was very nice. It could just be SO much better with a tasteful update, mostly in furniture, bedding, light bulbs and bath fixtures. Jan, you can take this as an attack, but it's really just some constructive criticism. Take it or leave it, I really don't care.

    Recently used Monterey Bay rentals to help us find a great house to vacation for a few days. Love them they made it super easy to find a great house. Customer service was excellent and followed up to see how our stay was. I highly recommend the property we rented it was right across the street looking over the ocean. We got to watch whales go by and seals laying on the beach with their babies. We were walking distance from canary row and the outlets ( not much of an outlet though). The house had everything we needed , it was clean with comfy beds. While the deck wasn't wide it was long enough for 10 people to have pizza and wine over looking the ocean waves!

    if you're looking to book a vacation rental and want a painless way to do so, monterey bay property management is a great choice. i had looked at hotels, airbnb, craigslist, etc before finally settling on monterey bay rentals. they have the easiest booking policy, are extremely responsive, and will take care of any issues during your stay. they will also periodically check in to see how you're doing. i loved that they have an easy reservation system (online), great photos that really represent their properties well, a large selection of properties (condos to large mansions), and properties are priced right (some cheaper than hotel stays). i worked with michelle larkins and stayed at the ocean habor beach house, which was literally right on the beach. i had a few issues to start, and they were addressed within 24 hrs. i even requested a few items which they promptly provided. coordinating keys to check in and out is easy - you pick up at their location and drop off at their location. *** one issue that i didnt like was the reservation charge and mandatory housekeeping fee, which if you stay awhile adds up.*** overall recommended!

Not once did I ever receive a call back or any communication from them in any way. They have zero cares for people. Also, the gas line in the kitchen and fan for the oven I believe are illegal and not up to code however they had zero problems renting it to the elderly. In response to the owners reply. The rent was $500 when you guys "took over the portfolio". You guys jacked the price up so high in such a short amount of time that it is absolutely in no way a reasonable price. If you deem it unrentable then no one should be paying $1,950 for it. That's absurd. I called a total of 5 times in the span of a month and left a voicemail every single time. I was never even once able to reach a live person. So check your messages and you will have all the record you need. You guys were 100% aware of the condition of the home. Not only did you demand tons of photos of the inside and outside of the home every 6ish Months but you also did several walk throughs inside and outside. Each time you guys deemed it rentable. That is not looking out for senior citizens that is abusing their inability to fend for themselves. Your company should be ashamed of themselves as well as the owner of this property.

    Absolutely unacceptable experience…read more Pacific Grove Rentals canceled my confirmed reservation twice, both times claiming a "pricing error." Not once, but twice. At that point, it stops feeling like a mistake and starts feeling like a complete disregard for customers and their travel plans. I had already invested time planning my trip and relied on the reservation being honored. Instead, I was left scrambling to find alternative accommodations while rates elsewhere had increased. A confirmation should mean something. Apparently, with Pacific Grove Rentals, it doesn't. What is most concerning is the lack of accountability. Rather than standing behind a confirmed booking and making the situation right, the reservation was simply canceled, leaving me to deal with the consequences. That is not how a reputable vacation rental company operates. The entire experience felt unprofessional, unreliable, and incredibly frustrating. If you value your vacation plans and don't want to risk having your reservation canceled after you've already made arrangements, I would strongly recommend booking with a different company. A company's true character is revealed when something goes wrong. Based on my experience, Pacific Grove Rentals failed that test completely.

We lived in this house (510…read moreCarmel Av in Pacific Grove) for $4,500 per month for over two years and they kept a large chunk of our deposit, despite the place being cluttered with lots of dirty items from previous renters. Every morning, you could hear the neighbor coughing at 5am, so we slept poorly. None of tvs worked, but then they blamed us for it--not a 20th century smart tv. If you don't want to lose your deposit and do want to get good sleep, do not stay here. I am writing to formally dispute the $1,430 deduction from my security deposit for cleaning services, including carpets and windows. Under California Civil Code §1950.5, landlords may only deduct for cleaning necessary to return the unit to the condition it was in at move-in, excluding normal wear and tear. After two years of tenancy, standard carpet wear and light dust are to be expected. Unless there was damage or extreme filth -- which I contest -- these cleaning charges appear excessive and unjustified.

I have also worked with better but that was through the military. I am not sure what renters are expecting, rent goes up every year, thats anywhere. Paramount raised the rent every year just about but never gouged us. They left proper notices before entering the home, answered inquiries if I had any, provided maintenance when needed and had a simple enough auto-pay system. Communication is key, I always made sure I communicated any issues or concerns. When I was able to buy a home I put in my notice, did the move out inspection. I didn't hire cleaners, I took time off work and cleaned and washed the carpets myself, we did small repairs but I know we left our mark in that rental we spent 24 hours in that house for almost 2 years just about. I did take my own pictures prior to move in and kept the original lease in file, documented the same when exiting and got about 40% of my deposit back (around 900). Frankly I think it was fair but if I didn't I have documentation to back it up. My suggestion to anyone is document, do the inspection and if you disagree go to court as it is your right but most importantly communicate and provide facts not opinions. I was a honest renter who always kept communication even when there was never any maintenance done and I was told I need to pay for certain repairs in the condo. Do not rent nor buy from paramount properties unprofessional greedy people who insulted me as a single mother personally mailing me letter putting me down as a single mother from Marie miller the owner. Shame on this company. -5 stars.
