This review is long overdue! I originally reached out to Create Comfort BNB hoping to slowly ease my very anxious Dalmatian, Sophie, into boarding. We started in January with weekly daycare visits--and now she loves it. Sophie isn't even comfortable at my parents' house, but she gets excited when I ask if she wants to go to "school"! A place that could follow the training we had going on already. With puppies you have to stay consistent with it. Paola was a dream to speak with her and her wife and her sister are lovely people. They text me with cute photos of Rosie throughout the day. It is fun to speak with them and be in a group chat with a little picture of Rosie in the bath. I thought we would do this just once a week but so far we have come twice. It really better than leaving her at home bored while we're busy with other things. After a sudden death in the family last December, I immediately needed to find someone to watch my pet bearded dragon Mordecai for a few days. I've never used a pet sitter before, let alone for a dragon, and was worried about finding someone who would understand the unique needs of reptiles. I'm so happy I found Creature Comfort! They are not only experienced with reptiles, but they provide a decent sized terrarium (all you need to bring are your lights, sand, and food). The owner Paola was very enthusiastic about watching him, and had no problem with the lighting requirements and live insect feeding. It gave me peace of mind to know Mordi was in such good hands with someone who gets him, but also appreciates how cute and special he is. I spent several months looking for the best environment to board my rescue pup for almost 2 weeks. We probably trialed over 20 different places (yes you read that right lol) and somehow I still didn't feel like I had found the right fit. Then I stumbled upon Creature Comfort last minute and I'm so glad I did! They met pretty much all the criteria I was looking for and were very accommodating to accept her last minute. I was nervous since my dog is quite attached to me and tends to be kind of shy and keep to herself at previous daycares, but they sent me picture and video updates daily of her looking very content sunbathing and even lots of playing with other dogs. I didn't expect her to come out of her shell so much during her time there, so that means she felt safe and comfortable enough to open up. There really is nothing that can be put into words that would properly convey Paola's care and ability, but I'll try. My first encounter with Paola occurred at my veterinary clinic as she was attending my very ill cat. Her patience and calmness was very much welcome in such trying times. I could immediately see that Paola truly loves and cares for animals. Later, when my wife and I planned a three week trip to Europe, there was only one person we could think of to take care of our three cats and bearded dragons. Paola expertly took care of our 17 year old special needs cat, while also caring for our two younger tuxedo cats, two mature bearded dragons, several adolescent bearded dragons, and an incubator with 20 dragon eggs. And when the baby dragons decided to hatch a week ahead of schedule, with a little guidance from overseas,she even was able to skillfully transfer the baby dragons from their incubator to their new terrarium! Since then, whenever I am in need of someone to care for my fur babies, it is not even a question of who I am going to call. Their happy, tired out and clearly comfortable in their wonderful home/daycare environment. Our little girl, Frida, LOOVVES Paola (and I believe the rest of her family as well) and I'm so glad we found her! We have tried various places for dog walking, daycare, and dog boarding over the last couple of years and Paola has been the best. Our pup was very anxious when we took her to a large doggy daycare facility. She would repeatedly jump the 5 foot fence in attempts to escape (like 6x in an hour) and we could see in through the one-way window that the staff were not very well-trained or loving. We had a regular dog walker, who was fine, but we didn't feel comfortable enough to leave Frida with him for a weekend. We also tried someone on Air BnB and Frida came back to me depressed and wouldn't eat for an entire day. I had another daycare in a home, but Frida escaped and was almost hit by a car. I don't worry about any of this with Paola. She walks Frida during the week and leaves a frozen kong for her. When we first met Paola I didn't have to tell her how to use the collar or teach her the commands. She already knew everything from her experience in a veterinary clinic (and her sister trains dogs). She's also helped me out in a pinch when something came up and Frida needed a walk last minute. When I travel, Frida goes to Paola's home and she always is happy to go there and return....it's like her second home. Paola has a locked gate out front and the dogs have a fenced area in the backyard. It's nice that Frida can have outdoor play time with other dogs and supervision at all times. I also get pictures from Paola to show that my girl is happy and making new friends. Paola has even picked up or dropped off Frida several times when my travel is early in the morning or I'm arriving home late. It's so nice to be able to go to work or to travel and not worry about Frida because I know she is being cared for and is happy. read more

3 years ago I met Paola on the street in Larchmont Village and I can honestly say that this meeting changed my life. I ended up fostering and then adopting the dog that was with her (who had been abandoned on her doorstep), and now Creature Comfort is his home away from home. If you want to leave your loved ones in a home environment, with people who will love them as much as you do, this is the place. I regularly drop Murphy here for anywhere from a couple hours to a couple weeks, and he comes home smiling and exhausted every time. He has terrible separation anxiety and gets nervous if I even leave the room. However, when we arrive at Creature Comfort, he perks up in the car, jumps out and drags me to the gate, and doesn't look back. He plays hard with his buddies, snuggles with Paola, Sandra and Julia, and sleeps on the bed, just like he does at home. When I pick him up, he seems less than thrilled to be leaving his paradise. Paola is flexible and always accommodates my crazy schedule and last minute needs. She is also a vet tech, so she is very in-tune with the animals, not just emotionally but to their health. Recently, I had my two little ones, Cotton and Ginger stay at Creature Comfort BnB. As a dog momma there is always a significant amount of angst related to having your pets stay/board in a new environment. Fortunately, all of my apprehensions were abated once we got into Paola's "doggie home". I was gone for a total of seven days and during that time I received picture updates frequently as well as timely responses to my inquiries about how Cotton and Ginger were doing. The atmosphere was wonderful; I felt it was much less stressful for my special needs dog Ginger, who is fully blind. The concept of a home for the animals to stay truly puts a pet owners mind at ease due to the fact that the animals are treated like part of the family as opposed to being in a more sterile setting whereby there is less touch and interaction with the animals. Paola herself is a delight to work with! I felt confident in her abilities after researching her, and identifying her as having years of previous animal experience. She is truly a passionate young woman who cares for every animal as if they are her own. I would highly recommend Creature Comfort BnB to anyone who lives in the Valley area, or further. All of them are true to heart dog lovers and treat your pup like family while they're "on vacation." Not only does my pup Scout NOT cringe at the site of the house (like she has done with a handful of other boarding places), she can tell when we're on Paola's street and gets out-of-this-world excited to visit! Aside from the "sentimental" positives about leaving your pups in loving arms, Paola and her team are professional and knowledgable about keeping each dog in their care SAFE, both in the multi-dog environment and from a health standpoint. Paola (correct me if I'm wrong) I believe, uses a "double-door" and crating system to ensure that there is no potential for loose dogs or nose to nose encounters with other doggie housemates who might not welcome there attention. Also, a minor note, if you've ever boarded a pup, they ALWAYS come back with that "kennel smell". Not here. Minor point, but much welcomed! The spacious outdoor area is awesome as well...most boarders will charge you extra for an "extended" walk or "additional playtime," at Creature Comfort BNB, its just another great all-inclusive perk. It's like leaving her at a home, instead of a boarder. I also have an awesome experience to share that shows just how much Paola and her sister have gone above and beyond for my little "family." I unfortunately had somewhat of a slumlord situation occur last year where my ENTIRE apartment flooded with raw sewage, rendering the unit completely untenable. My landlord was completely MIA. I was at work half way across town panicking about my Pittie girl, Scout, being in the flooded unit alone. I raced home to get her before she ingested anything or worse, and along the way called Paola for an emergency same-day immediate stay, to which she and her mom kindly obliged. As it turned out Scout had to stay for over a week unscheduled. With all of the stress happening at my old place and finding a new place in a rush with a large Pittie, Paola basically told me not to worry about a thing, and that we would sort everything out once I had a second to breath. Paola has been watching my dog Mushu for quite some time and I can't recommend her enough! Mushu never has to sleep in a cold dirty kennel. Instead he gets to laze about with the other pooches.She even watched him when he was injured , and although I was nervous he came back perfectly fine. :] Every time he comes back from boarding he is totally tuckered out from all the playing and running around, which to me a sign that he had a great time.
