I am beyond furious with the Regency Grand at West Covina…read more My mother-in-law lived there for 15 years. Fifteen years. She and my father-in-law spent six of those years together in the same assisted living apartment. The staff and management knew them well. We believed she was part of a community. We trusted that she was cared for. After my father-in-law passed in 2017, everything changed. With new ownership and management came a noticeable decline -- fewer gatherings, fewer thoughtful touches, and a clear shift away from the residents who had built that community. The warmth disappeared. The effort disappeared. The food declined significantly. We dined with her often and eventually began taking her out because meals there were so poor. Over the past year, she lost 35-40 pounds. She was not able to tell us about the food because she had a stroke many years before and could not speak. We later learned she wasn't eating -- and no one alerted us. No one noticed. Or if they did, they failed to act. That is inexcusable. After 15 years in the same apartment, her unit was never properly updated. The carpet was filthy. The bathroom cabinetry was falling apart. The space looked worn down and neglected. For two years, we were repeatedly told renovations were coming. They never happened. Then, after Christmas, she became ill and passed away 20 days later. She spent her final three days on hospice in the very place she had called home for a decade and a half. In those last days, only three staff or management members came to see her. Three. After 15 years. We did hear one staff member comment that she was sad she would no longer get clothes from my MIL (who was always very generous). After her passing, there was no card from the Regency management. No condolences. No acknowledgment to my husband, who had just lost his mother. They once posted notices honoring residents who passed. This time -- nothing. We did everything we could to give her a life filled with dignity and love. We trusted Regency to do the same within their walls. They did not. This is more than disappointment. It is heartbreak -- and a profound sense of betrayal.

The staff, the nurse, and the sales director are all easy to contact and are very helpful. I am quite confident that my Mom is getting great care and is safe. The staff at The Terraces has made this a seamless transition for my Mom as she acclimates to her new surroundings. Thank you.

Ok, I've waited a few days to post this review, but after reading the 3 reviews before this, they…read moreare suspect at best. All made around the same time, and very little real info. We moved my mom into the Terraces, almost a year ago. When we first moved her in there, it seemed really nice, loving and dignified. The management and caregivers, really cared, and showed my Mother, so much love, and care. The place was clean, upbeat, and fun for the residence in their care. It stayed that way for about 8 months, and then suddenly, the executive director was fired, and shortly after that, the nurse on staff. I don't know why and can't speak to that, but both of them were very loving, and really cared about the residents. About 2 months later, Agemark brought in a new executive director, and that director brought in their own staff nurse. Suddenly, caregivers and staff members, were getting let go, or quitting in droves. All these fun, loving, and really caring people, were being replaced by people, that were just there to earn a paycheck. All the care, and love, that the residents were used to, was replaced with glorified baby sitters. I literally took a picture of 2 caregivers, sitting at a table, staring at their phones, while the residents were left on their own. Another time, a resident, who was in a wheel chair, had got up, and walked into the activity room, and fell and fractured her arm. All 3 caregivers on the floor, were in the elevator room, laughing about something. I literally had to scream for them, to come and help her. Some of the residents are left dirty and sitting in their own filth. There is also one resident that is hyper-aggressive and had literally attacked a few of the residents, and even 2 of the residents family members. This of course was reported to the executive director, who just said he has dementia, and there was nothing that could be done. He, should not be in this facility, and should be somewhere that he and others can be safe. The place has become very dirty and the cleaning has not been kept up. There are missing moldings, the curtains around the windows in the hallway were all taken down, and not replaced. The carpets all have spots, and the floor in the dining area, is sticky to walk on. I decided to call Agemark corporate, and let them know about the issues. They had no knowledge of any problems in the facility. Apparently, they were never reported. I also talked to the state, and found out that there are 2 open cases being investigated. We pay to have our relatives, cared for, with dignity and love, and under this new administration that has been replaced, and now it's all about the money. Luckily for us, we found a great new place, and moved my mom out of the Terraces. If you want your relative to be taken care of with care and dignity, then perhaps you will want to look elsewhere. I'm not saying that everything at the Terraces was horrible. There are some highlights: O.V. the chef, is amazing. He cooks with love, and makes sure that the residents, eat well. Some of the caregivers are there for the right reasons, and do care for the residents, and show them love. They are just overwhelmed, most of the time, and are treated badly, by the new management. This is a memory care facility, and most of the residents, need to be cared for with extra patience and love. They don't understand why they are there, and when I see caregivers getting annoyed or mad at residents, it just makes me sad for them and their families.

The employee that answered my call, is the same person that got such wonderful praise on yelp. So, of course I thought this should go smoothly. Instead she offered to send (message, images) via email. Still not showing, nor anything in my message center. I'm sure I did something wrong, so I'll make another call to see if she's not too busy to give me a tour. Then I'll be more willing to offer an opinion about this business.

Although there were some unpleasant moments there, I loved seeing the rest of the facility and visiting the refreshments corner of the dining room. It would have been beneficial for us to do be able to work in other areas, but I guess I should have picked a better school. If you're an employee here (one of our students is a med tech here), you're free to use the swimming pool, and meals are discounted. I think for a normal person, it's around $9. It is made to order, so it looks pretty fresh. Next to it is the bird sanctuary, and a block or two away is there woodwork shop, although I personally never saw it. They have residential and assisted living surround the cafeteria, and across from the Woods side is the memory care unit, which we did not enter. It has a peaceful vibe to it and is nice to walk around. Definitely get a tour of the place with someone, so you can see everything.

I'm not one who routinely posts reviews, but after my experience witnessing the care, treatment and…read moreservice for my mother by the management and staff at Inspired Elderly Care Living, I am compelled to do so. While my mother resided there, I visited her frequently and most always - unannounced. No matter if my visit was planned or unplanned, each time I was there I observed nothing but caring, compassionate, kind, loving, thoughtful, trustful, and thoroughly exacting-patient service not just for my mother, but to all residents. My mother was not just another person occupying a bed to the management & staff. They do not operate with a one-size-fits-all attitude. Not only did they provide medical care for my mother, but they engaged her in conversational topics they somehow learned she liked to talk about (sports, family, education, & spiritual, etc.). I also observed them engaging with the other residents by playing BINGO, while others chose to watch appropriate-entertaining movies, documentaries, etc. The point is that my mother (and all other residents) received a healthy dose of mental stimulation along with their medical care. There's not enough room here to fit all great things I could say about the management and staff of Inspired Elderly Care Living. Suffice it to say that if you want the best care for your loved one and you have high expectations to find a clean & sanitary residential care home that provides nothing less that the best care for your loved one, Inspired Elderly Care Living should be your first choice!

When we would visit you can see all the love from the nurses to the residents. I would highly recommend this facility if you want your family members to be treated as family, respect, dignity, compassion and most importantly love. They take residents (if able too) outside for fresh air (when applicable-weather permitting). Thank you to all of those who took care of our family member!

Over the past 15 years I've had the privilege of working closely with their team and witnessing the high standard of care they provide to their residents. What impresses me most is their consistent professionalism and attention to detail. The staff is always responsive, organized, and proactive when it comes to handling insurance-related matters--making the process smooth not just for vendors like myself, but most importantly, for the residents and their families. Beyond the administrative side, it's clear that the environment at Park Regency retirement, is one built on compassion and respect. It's obvious that the residents are well cared for--not just physically, but emotionally and socially as well. A big part of it was the marketer who was not only helpful and communicative, but also enthusiastic about the building and the care staff. She helped them navigate various aspects of relocating our loved one, the pros and cons of different senior living communities and really highlighted the quality care provided by her staff. What ultimately sold us on this community was the memory care. We decided that it would be best to choose a community that had assisted living and memory care in one building so, if the time ever came, it would be a smoother transition should that level of care be needed. Although the building is a bit older, it is well taken care of and has a beautiful courtyard for residents and families to enjoy. I highly recommend taking a tour if you're considering assisted living homes for your loved one!
