Ordered a small hot lavender honey with oat milk and a sesame beagle with cream cheese. Total $11.00 Coffee was okay. Nothing special, you could really taste the lavender but did not blow me away. Beagle was eh. I wasn't anticipating the cream cheese spread to come in the pre-packaged small 1oz. (glen view farms) The atmosphere was blah, I came in early morning on a Tuesday and the vibes were not it. There was an older lady (I am assuming the manager) who brought out my drink and food. She was quite rude when I had asked for napkins (stating there was already some inside the beagle bag. There was ONE napkin). I didn't feel welcomed. Not sure what to think. We came to this location instead of the one on The Alameda and was easy to park on the street. It was around 12:45 pm on Thursday to get a quick drink and some baked goods. The place was pretty empty and it took the cashier to find our drink orders on their register. And I guess she was also working the seafood oyster restaurant that it's connected with - all open space. Drinks are yum though and priced well. We got their Spring specials and they were both good. Wow.. speechless! Owner is super rude to me. Please do not recommend this place. First of all, she forgot the order I placed. After waiting for 30 mins, When I told her I was still waiting for my tea latte, she gave me an annoyed look, shook her head, and went back to the kitchen. I clearly told them I'm sensitive to caffeine and asked for my drink to be made less strong. Having too much caffeine can be dangerous for me because of my heart condition. I'm also lactose-intolerant and cannot drink regular milk. I also clearly ordered oat milk. However, while looking annoyed, she poured regular milk into my drink right in front of me. So I said, "Ma'am, I ordered oat milk earlier," but she replied, "No, you didn't," while glaring at me. How am I supposed to know what she might put in my food just because she doesn't like me? I was hopeful for a good cup of coffee, but left disappointed. The coffee shop is inside the same building as a seafood restaurant, and it looks as though staff works at both. They were understaffed, as the worker had been in the kitchen for the restaurant and appeared about 5 mins after to take our order. I ordered a seasonal cold brew, but it was super watered down and didnt have any flavor. It made it difficult to drink and I just took the loss since we were just visiting and on the road already. We also ordered the mini beignets, which it's unsure if these are made in house or brought in by another business. They tasted like a donut with Nutella filling instead of a traditional beignet. Came here on a last minute whim to get some studying done. I ordered the Cupids Cloud which has raspberry hibiscus milk tea with rose & strawberry it was actually really really yummy I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. On the first sip you really get the hibiscus tea and rose together it's really refreshing but can taste a little thick or syrupy. I also ordered the chocolate croissant which was sadly stale even tho warm! Really chewy and not soft- hard & inedible, but the chocolate was very sweet and yummy would love to try this fresh. I did come at the end of day around 3pm on a Sunday. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. Now this cafe is a combo with pier 402 an oyster restaurant so the outside does smell like fish/ crab boil which isn't a bad fish smell - just makes me want seafood and can be a little off putting if you're going for more "cozy cafe" vibe. The service was unwelcoming, judgmental, & told me to wait outside for my drinks for some reason even tho it was empty inside. I felt bad seemed like they were the only one making drinks and taking orders. Parking lot is for pier 402 customers only so be on the look out for street parking! It's hard to find a coffee spot that actually gets my order right, I like my coffee very creamy, and most places either overdo the espresso or skimp on the milk. But here? They absolutely nailed it. Smooth, perfectly balanced, and just the right amount of vanilla. It exceeded my expectations. The staff is super friendly, which made the experience even better. There's plenty of seating both inside and out, making it a great spot whether you're looking to relax, work, or catch up with a friend. After checking their seasonal menu,we decided on the mooncake latte. Something different than PSL. I asked the barista for her opinion on weather it tastes better hot or iced. She recommended iced. I agree, It was slightly sweet and slightly nutty. It also has a strong presence of expresso. The place is huge, plenty of people talking and working. First of all the parking situation is pretty confusing here. Technically Crema is part of Pier 405 - so all of the parking spots in the back that are labeled for Pier 405 are also available for Crema customers, which wasn't clear to me until I asked the cashier inside. I came here on a Wednesday around noon and the place was basically empty. Service was so-so, I didn't feel like they were particularly welcoming. The latte I got was flavorless and watery which was disappointing for $7+. Lastly the ambiance was terrible here. Anyone looking for a nice coffee shop to sit down and work at, don't come here. Went outside & they don't wipe the tables or counters down in the morning. I looked for somewhere private to get work done on my computer, just to get out the house, asked to up stairs & they refused. Alright, I'll find somewhere downstairs: they don't have any tables with power cords. Alright, where can I sit with a power cord: this bar like setup with the screen faces outward visible to all (I'm trying to organize my finances) and there was a party using the majority of the space. I went outside to eat and found the perfect place with a visible cord. I set up and the cord did not work. Went inside to ask the counter if they could turn on the switch so my computer can receive power: gentlemen came and told me the lady of the place does not want to turn it on. No designated cords next to tables (i.e., not the bar), no consideration for customer needs, & no accommodations. Alright, I see customer satisfaction is minimal to you. I wish I could leave 10 stars! This location is right across from some major construction but don't let that deter you! There's so much parking in midtown. Every time I come here, the baristas are so kind and welcoming. They work incredibly hard, and they make GOOD coffee. I don't drink dairy so I can't speak to items with dairy milk, but the oat & almond milk drinks I've ordered are so balanced and well priced. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Plus there's a lot of windows facing out, which provides great lighting if you're working. We ordered a hot and cold latte this day, as well as a vegetarian breakfast burritos. I often go to coffee shops to get some work done on my computer. I was pleasantly pleased with how much table seating there was at this location. Service was friendly and they even had someone come out to bus our table while we were working. I was fully expecting to drop off our used dishes before we left. Ordered a red velvet latte with oatmilk and loved that it came in an actual mug. I'm a sucker for cafes that serve dine-in orders in sturdy mugs. I appreciate that the internet was good enough for me to get my work done without any issues. Honestly, this place would have gotten 5 stars from me if only there were outlets available to plug in. I took a sip of the red velvet and expected a flavor combination of cake and cream cheese but nothing close to that. I could taste the flavoring added to the coffee but it didn't stand out. The coffee itself was not flavorful. The chocolate croissant was heated too long so it wasn't flaky or delicious. The shop itself was inside of a seafood restaurant. There's outdoor seating and tables inside the coffee shop. They had several pastry options including macarons and cake slices. The service could have been more prompt. It shouldn't take 5-7 minutes to heat up a croissant. I think the cashier just forgot about it as she talked with her co workers. A customer came by shortly after me and she waited there for sometime until someone came to help her. There's parking in the back and if your lucky you catch some right out front. Love this spot! The lady who works here is so kind; was willing to serve breakfast, well after they stopped serving breakfast. I must recommend the COCONUT UBE LATTE. It's so delicious! I got it with non-fat milk & asked it it could be less sweet and it was perfect. I was studying and doing work here for so long, I ordered the CAMPFIRE COLD BREW as well and forgot to ask for it less sweet. The marshmallow definitely comes through and so does the honey; more honey than marshmallow actually. The avocado toast is very simple, but gets the job done. The breakfast burrito was better; light, healthy, and feels easy on your stomach, yet filling. They have a pretty cool music playlist. The facility is shared with Pier 402 so you do risk having some random food smells mixed in with the little coffee scents. There's also an upstairs seating area. My knowledge of the South Bay has been deteriorating for years long after my high school graduation. Not because I'm old (...thank you very much) but because I just haven't been down there much recently. It's likely because the four available freeways to get there give me valid reason to grumble about all the disaffected drivers who cause me trauma. Thank goodness I made it last time to meet my friend Carlos for coffee at this spacious cafe on Race Street. This is a true coffee spot that offers good caffeine and melts right into the neighboring seafood restaurant. I had the $3.75 Large Cafe au Lait and was nursing it while we shared COVID horror stories far enough away from other customers. OK, I know at least one solid place to get coffee in San Jose. Was brought the wrong meal. Asked for a the correct burrito to be brought out, not even asking for the original meal to be replaced, I was prepared to pay for both the sandwich they had taken the time to prepare as well as the burrito I had first asked for, but the server walked away from the table ignoring me while I was making this request.
