I walked in and what appears to be the owner was sitting down at the table near the windows and next to the entry door. He had a Post middle-aged woman who was doing the counter. It was my first time there, so I don't know how they run their business. One row of tables had tablecloth and cutlery in cloth napkins, and then the tables near the windows didn't. I don't know what's going on. It looks kind of confusing to me. And what I'm assuming is the owner that was sitting at the table near the windows next to the entry door, barks at me, "are you here for dinner? Are you here for something Else, I said I don't know. So I chose a table near the windows to have maybe dessert and coffee. No menu was offered to me. And I had to go up to the case because they're not taking any orders at the tables, but I don't know that, and I pick out a chocolate declare with supposed French cream custard. It was not French cream, custard it was something that tasted like shortening mixed with some kind of whipped cream. The pastry didn't taste fresh. The filling didn't taste like what he said it was. It tasted like some cheaper version cutting corners, and unhealthy version. The coffee was OK. Nothing stellar. Then I see over and a dish bin near the wall that they want us to bust our own dishes as well. So you have to order the counter and then you have to come to the counter to get your coffee and then they want you to bust your table. And their hospital hospitality from 0 to 10 is pretty much zero. Somebody called him he answers how can I help you and then he hangs up on them and then he bitches at the counter Woman that people are trying to call you and tell you you qualify for something and I don't need anything and I just want people to leave me alone. And he says this out loud in the room, so everybody can hear it. This man is clueless. On the way out, the counter Woman asked me how my food was. And she had a warm heart about it. I could tell by the light in her eyes and her tone of voice that she really wanted to know, and that she was coming from her heart. I said well, it was OK. It wasn't great. It wasn't horrible. I said, but he, as I pointed at him could be more hospitable and not a cranky old man. And she said I know. Needless to say, I will never be coming back here again. My family and I enjoyed various goodies here from filled donuts to their famous Cremesh pastry which has a silky cream filling that has to be experienced. I wasn't impressed with the cashier- brusque and in a hurry. Not rude or anything, but a little annoyed or moody? No smile or greeting. I don't expect someone to throw a parade when I walk in but a warm greeting doesn't hurt. Food was good but the soup portion was tiny. Must say, the slice of bread we were served was wonderful. I think they make it there. However---! They charge extra for butter! When they brought the soup out I said, "oh I didn't realize it came with bread, may I have some butter?" They answered, "next time tell us when you order because we charge extra for butter." Then they gave us a single foil wrapped butter packet. The blonde woman at the cashier needs serious food safety training and customer service training. Not only was she extremely rude to multiple customers, she was using her BARE HANDS to touch customer food then back to the register to handle actual cash without once wearing gloves or washing hands in between. I was there for a total of 5 minutes waiting for my drink and saw at least 5 incidents of her doing this - from the register, to touching bread slices for customer's toast, to drinking coffee from her personal coffee mug, to picking up the macaroons with her bare fingers for a customer, back to taking cash at the register. I was so disgusted I trashed all the food I bought from her. At the same time, what seemed to be the owner was using his bare hands to touch every loaf of bread in the place to move them from a basket and put them elsewhere - it seems the total disregard for proper food handling is a cultural problem. A nice little cafe near the beaches that I have visited couple of times. The staff is very friendly and the pastries and their coffee are very good. I have tried their bacon and tomato quiche, ham and cheese croissants. I had a mocha latte with almond milk that I enjoyed. We had a family event we were going to where we wanted to get a nice, more upscale pastry assortment to bring as a gift to my relatives house. Being from out of town and not knowing the bakeries in this area we saw the reviews on Yelp for this bakery with the emphasis on European old world techniques and use of quality ingredients for their pastries which sounded exactly like what we were looking for. Well getting to the point it was! During this visit we ended up getting a large assortment of pastries that included Orange Cranberry White Chocolate Scones, Linzer Tarts, Apple Bread Pudding Muffins, Key Lime Tarts, Cremesh with Fruit, Canoli's and Chocolate Rum Balls. All of the deserts were very well made and had a wonderful taste. They were moist with the proper texture and aesthetically had a wonderful appearance that screams "yummy - eat me" when you look at them. My personal favorites were the Cremesh with Fruit and Apple Bread Pudding muffin that I would highly recommend. At the end of the meal there were a lot of complements about these desserts by our family and they had the impact we were hoping for. Good Job Cremesh! I discovered this magnificent shop while being at the hospital next door with a family member for the week. From the outside appearance, it looks simply ordinary. The pastry cabinet screamed my name as soon as I stepped inside. The scent of sugar and coffee beans thick in the air. A delightful man laughed at my commentary of the spectacular sights laid out in front of me. Think kid in a candy shop! It's entirely unfair to have THAT much decadence to have to choose between. That man happened to be the owner and pastry chef. We became fast friends and he told me the story of his career and how this place came to be. We sat and chatted as I ate. I ordered the tuna which was delicious, the coconut cream roulade (this is a desert dreams are made of) It was everything a roulade should be. Light, fluffy, full of heavenly whipped cream. I took a hazelnut cream puff to go to snack on later at the hospital. Again, decadent. This place is a hidden gem. You would be remiss if in the area not to stop in for cafe, tea, a light lunch fare and most likely the best deserts and pastries in all of Florida. Don't miss this one! read more

I recently had an opportunity to try a few kolaches from this bakery. They were, by far, the best kolaches I have had in a long time. We used to eat them when out in Texas, but these are even better than the ones we had out there. The dough was perfect and the balance of fruit and cheese was incredible. After getting a fish lunch in Bradenton i was craving some sweets. There were great reviews for this t little coffee shop and bakery. I walked in right as they were closing. But they were nice enough to accommodate me. Thus the 3 stars. Service was 5 stars but the actual pastries left little to be desired. I bought cannolis and a apple something muffin. The canollis just didnt taste right. Im used to them from authentic Italian bakeries in Michigan which are definitely more to my liking.and the muffin was stale and dry and nothing i would order again. They do have a lot of positive reviews so maybe my tastes from Michigan are just different from theirs. So having only tried 2 items I dont want to disparage anyone from trying them. We visit Bradenton 2-3 times per year and found this jewel on our trip last week! We absolutely loved the pastries, quiche, cookies, breads, scones, lattes, teas, and sandwiches! We stopped by to pick up a selection of pastries and hot drinks and went back again another day for brunch! It has moved to the top of our list of favorites in that area. Definitely seek this place out. The coffee was the best I had on my trip. Got a latte with an extra shot, no flavor. And the bakery items...where to begin. We got multiple; two favorites were the raspberry filled donut (see pictures) and the cinnamon swirl pastry. The raspberry donut was jammed packed with real raspberry filling...not the fake jelly stuff. The donut was one of the best I've ever had, the dough was pillowy and chewy. While I waited for my coffee, I took a few photos, the chatted with Lori. She gave great insights on the hand made pastries snd I love how you see everyone making them in the kitchen. Over $13 for a small slice of chocolate rolade, a small caramel frosted cream puff type pastry, 4 tiny linzer tarts and a very small almond challah. The rolade had a strong rum flavor which was unexpected and not appreciated, and the filling tasted greasy and not chocolatey. Cake portion was not flavorful. Cream puff was ok but also had a rum flavor which did not taste right. Challah was one in name only- not eggy and dry. Linzer tarts were good and the star of the show.
