I've been meaning to try Mama G's for a while and finally did when I saw them on the Too Good to Go app. With my purchase I received a variety of 6 different sweet and savory pastries. This was my first experience with German bakes, which to me were heartier but slightly less sweet than French bakes. My favorite was the German apple pie! For the time I was in the bakery, the worker was warm and welcoming. I look forward to future visits!

Delicious schnitzel with mushroom gravy!! So good!!

I love mama G! And she does not disappoint! Not only are her baked goods delicious but so is her schnitzel.

I ordered a surprise box from too good to go and the pickup window was in the late afternoon. I got here super early to do some computer work and set up shop because I had an event at the Ritz in the evening. When i explained how early I was to pick up my box, they gave me my box early! I was able to sample soo many different pastries I would never have picked myself. From the looks of the pastries and their online menu I received: a peach danish, apricot danish, chocolate croissant, apple twist, and a ham and cheese croissant. I tried them a little on the spot and they definitely needed to be warm to re-soften, but the flavors were absolutely there. This morning I heat them up and I loved them all. I would definitely come back if I'm ever back in the area! Also some very kind women in the shop struck some conversation with me and it just solidified the good vibes of this bakery for me.

If you're looking for pastries and sweet breakfast foods, this is the place to come. They also have a side coffee shop inside of the building that made a fantastic coffee. The shake was a little bit watery to my taste so I didn't really care for that, but the baked goods that I had there was fantastic

The food was good The coffee was not too hot, which was perfect for me. The service was great and I think the owner was very kind and it's a great place to get breakfast or brunch.

Perfect mocha cappuccino ~ loved it with an assortment of pastries! Everything looked so good it was hard to pick just one.

Really nice family business and must go if you are in Sarasota. It's small, comfortable, all the staff & owners are very friendly. They have a lunch plate of the day, (potato latke (2) with apple sauce) was the plate today. I got this with a Cuban pasterie. The potato was crispy on the outside with very little oil, inside firm but mashed, not dry or too mushy. One side is the coffee side and then the middle is desserts including Apple dumplings. Everything was delicious!!

Wow! Excellent pastries. Friendly owner. The few pastries I tried were just like the bakeries back in Frankfurt Germany. The rye bread is legit. Heavy duty and flavorful. So heavy that it exceeded my check-in luggage weight limit. Was my carry-on instead. Wish I lived nearby.

This place is so cute and can be hard to see from the road but....Please stop! Kind, friendly mom & pop service. We got coffees, lattes and chai teas - no one complained - all very hot!. The sausage roll, egg frittata and pesto something was so good. I wanted to try one of everything....like the waitress suggested. LOL. So, she was right and DO IT!

Went to this lovely bakery twice. Authentic European German bakery. It is the best bakery for savory baked goods in town per my assessment . Spinach or egg based or meat pies. So flaky and full of flavors. Large size and reasonably priced. The bakers are so nice and welcoming. The jam topped sweets also are so tasty. The decor so welcoming with dine in area but so informal and relaxing.

Cappuccino was absolutely terrible. But pastries were good, staff is friendly and the store is cozy.

One of the reasons we visit Sarasota. Excellent quality and taste. The best part that bread is all natural and made from good ingredients

I will always Stan C'est La Vie in Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch. This location is always busy so get…read morethere early if you have your eyes on a specific pastry. Actually, just get there early anyway because the pastry items are fresher/better. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I typically skip trying to park next to it and just go to the garage and walk over. The service is more attentive than a typical French cafe overseas but not as on top of you as a typical place in the US. You can definitely order at the counter in French if you want to and I've had a waiter there flip between English, French, Spanish, and another language (maybe Romanian?) in one order. The sandwiches I've had were all lovely, and had a little side salad that could benefit from a better dressing (they serve an okay vinaigrette though). I've yet to encounter a single bad pastry - the elcairs, mousse cakes, and flaky pastries like chausson pommes are on par with the typical boulangerie/pattisserie in France and don't make me think US adaptation at all. Prices are reasonable.

We had a nice lunch here! Came with my parents, husband, and baby on a busy weekend brunch hour. We…read morewere luckily able to be sat inside right away in a tucked-in corner. I got the poularde crepe, wanting something savory. This was solid and tasty. Everyone else got nice little meals as well. I do feel like the portion and the quality is a little lacking for the price. That being said, I don't know that there are better French options in the area. I also got a palmier pastry and I should have gotten a croissant, the palmier tasted a little stale. The locale was adorable, with beautifully tiles tables really setting the scene. Overall, not terrible! Worthwhile if you're really feeling French.
