Plenty of crepe variations. Most of them have Nutella. Not a fan of Nutella but again don't overly dislike it either. Ultimately chose number 10 (Valence). Absolutely delicious! Salty, sweet, and crunchy. Includes a scoop of ice cream. Our "crêpière" must have years of experience. Probably one of the best crepes I've had in years. Sharing with my date was not a great idea. Could have finished on my own. With an Americano at hand, I was content. There were two ladies working at tandem. They held the store calmly and under pressure. Mediocre fast food at the Veranda shopping mall in Concord. Stopped by for lunch earlier this week with our teen who is volunteering nearby. She had the Croque Monsieur and I had the Fontaine Philly Cheesesteak. The food took a long time to prepare, which was surprising as we were the only patrons (this should have tipped us off!). I struggled to finish my Fontaine Philly cheesesteak (one of my fave sandwiches) - it was light on mushrooms, cheese and steak, and heavy on the jalapeños! And my daughter disliked her croque monsieur, which is one of her favorite sandwiches! We had to get ice cream (fortunately there was a Humphry Slocombe nearby!) just to drown the awful taste from our mouths. Service was fine. Food cost around $40 with tax and tip. Always been a fan of crepes and glad that the Veranda had some! There were several other desserts- cake slices, cookies, but we were there for the crepes. The #2 Rennes biscoff banana Nutella and #10 Valence with banana, Nutella, walnuts and vanilla ice cream were a tasty dessert after our Shabuya dinner. There is a Wide variety of crepes, sandwiches, and desserts. There is no seating indoors but there is open seating outside. It is a bit pricy but then again what isn't in California. We had just a plain Nutella crepe - literally just the crepe and Nutella. It took about 15 minutes for this which I thought was a little long. It cost us $11. If I get the chance to come back, I'd definitely ask to make it extra crispy. Too bad they don't roll it up into a cone so that we can eat and walk. read more

I've gone to La Fontaine several times for dessert and it was always a sweet tooth fix, but not much worth raving about. But I went today and the store front appeared differently, I almost thought it was bought out and noticed they added new advertising and items onto their menu. (Green Flag #1!) I then ordered my go-to sweet crepe, which was #3 "Brest" and an affogato. When I picked up my order, I was shocked at how good it looked compared to previous times I've ordered it. (Green Flag #2!) The crepe tasted WAY better than usual, it actually had wafers inside of it & and Ferrero Rocher on top of it which wasn't the case before. So, Either I was getting the crepe wrong this entire time or someone is actually making it correctly for once but I'm impressed! It was the best one I've gotten from them thus far! The affogato was pretty good too. I'm not sure what changes are being made in the way they're operating but I do appreciate the quality of their food today. Service is good, but not outstanding -- I think the register is managed by the owner or a family member of the owner based on his customer service. He's polite but isn't going above & beyond, which is fine. As for ambiance, I think they could take it up a notch with music or arts. Maybe really attempt to lean into the french cafe theme as it doesn't feel like one.. but I know there's potential and hope they can take it to the next level. Cute crepe place located in the Verandas. It's near the fountain with plenty of outdoor seating. Let me start off by saying I'm not super familiar with crepes. Maybe had them twice in my life. We ordered the crème brûlée and a Nutella/banana crepe. It was busy so we sat at tables outside with a pager. Our pager did not work so after a while we figured out our crepes were dying in the window. I'm a fan of crème brûlée but the custard in the crepe was an odd taste and texture. I probably would not get it again. However the crepe with the Nutella/bananas was delicious. It ranges $13.99-$17.99 per plate. They also have savory crepes and other dishes. They had several people waiting for 20+ minutes just to order and another 30 minutes for their order. I had three people who I was IN FRONT OF, receive their order first just because my order was small. I've worked in food service and know how hectic it can get, but serving three customers in front of someone just because their order is bigger is something I would never do. I've been here a few times, it's the French cafe here in the veranda! They do sell out later in the day but there's no crazy lines or anything that I've seen. The workers in my experience are friendly. There is no space to eat inside so it's a to-go cafe but it's situated in the veranda with plenty of seating, a fountain show outside along with a children's park. They have crepes with sweet and savory options, along with panics l, waffles, croques, and "French tacos". Never had them, and they sound interesting! I've had sweet crepes from here, they're good and delicious, but for the price and quantity that you get, I wouldn't say that the value is there at all. I will give them a 4 star simply because of their macarons and I can recommend them for that. It's alright but it's best if you're craving crepes and you can't drive far for it. It reminds me of places within Paris, that are run by foreign-born owners, and they take advantage of the unknowing tourists, in the high-traffic areas. French cafe sandwiches and crepes are meant to be relatively simple, gorgeous ingredients, done well. These are not. The staff is all over the place, one staff person not knowing what the other is doing. I also don't recommend the staff, partaking in eating the food, as they make it. I'd get a better experience at my local Safeway deli. This is the 3rd time in over a year that I've tried to like this place. I returned the inedible panini for a refund.
