This evening was my Second Visit to Pandan Leaf in two days. Unheard of for me! Our dinner tonight solidified what a hidden gem this place truly is to the Northside. So much so, I'd prefer to keep it to myself, but I'd be remise if I don't spread the love and good food. Fresh, Hot, and particularly spiced. A perfect takeout spot in my opinion. Came here in the evening and was greeted by a sincere girl at the cash register. This was our first time here and the girl helped us choose on what dessert drink to order. I had the paradise drink which is the only drink that is coconut water instead of coconut milk. I asked if I could substitute it for coconut milk instead and she insisted not to. The place here is such a sight to see. The decorations are great from the calming fish tanks to the wonderfully places Lego creations on shelves. I've read on here that the manager or owner was rude to them. I'm not sure if I talked to the manager when I was there but I'm sure I did and he was a very straight forward man, but not rude to me. The place is small but filled with large model cars, someone is clearly an automobile aficionado. The decor while different is well done and interesting. The place was at capacity when I walked in with maybe six tables in the house. The food was delivered in reusable takeout dishes so if you didn't finish you had your container for leftovers. I had the pork vermicelli, it was smaller than I'm used to at that price point but beautifully presented. The slushy boba drink that accompanied it was bursting with flavor and lasted a long time. Although the mask mandate has been lifted the staff is still wearing masks which is comforting because they're making food. I come here quite often before work or with friends and I usually get the smoothies which are amazing. I've been wanting to try the soursop smoothie for a while but every time I come in they're out of it--I think it's seasonal though so I don't mind. The staff is also very kind, Pandan Leaf is definitely one of my favorite spots in the area. Quick service! Amazing drinks! My siblings and I got the Mango Fusion Tea, Raspberry Fusion Tea, and Green Thai Milk Tea. They were all amazing. We didn't change the sweetness or the ice level, and the sweetness of the fusion drinks were on point. They're not overly sweet like other drinks at 100% sweetness level. TLDR; The manager of this place is outright mean, inconsiderate, and verbally assaults his customers. I had a few questions about my drink and he proceeded to say I should go to the Starbucks across the street, yelled at me that my review wouldn't change anything, and screamed in the parking lot at my friends and I after we left the shop. I'm not one to ever post a review but the verbal assault I experienced by the MANAGER at this seemingly highly rated Tea house is one worth sharing. My friends and I decided to catch up over the break at Pandan Leaf as the reviews looked good and the menu was extensive. I ordered a matcha milk tea and my friend ordered a jasmine milk tea. When I got my drink, I noticed it tasted heavily of Jasmine and very grainy from the Matcha powder (picture attached). My friend who ordered the Jasmine milk tea tried my drink and said my drink tasted more like Jasmine than hers. I suspected maybe he used the same shaker cup for both our drinks. My friend kindly offered to ask the manager if he could remake it for me. He replied, Matcha milk tea is made with Jasmine tea and said no. I wanted to ask one last time about my drink before I left as the separation was too much and the Jasmine taste was extremely overwhelming. I asked, "Is this normal?" Annoyed, he said, "Let me ask you this, what do you think Matcha is?" To which I replied, "Matcha is a type of powder made from finely grounded green tea leaves. So to me, a matcha milk tea is matcha powder, milk (oat, soy, 2%, etc.), and ice." (I looked this up online and I was correct in my definition btw). He rudely said "I can't give you just powder and ice. The tea aspect of the drink is Jasmine tea. If you want what you said, you can go to the Starbucks across the street." I was shocked. I said, "Ok, I feel like that should be stated on the menu but thanks for answering my question." I proceeded to ask if I could take a picture of the menu to show that it doesn't mention Milk teas are made with Jasmine tea. While I took the picture, the manager repeatedly said, "one problem isn't going to fix anything." As we were heading to the door, he progressed to actually screaming at me, "one problem isn't going to fix anything". I'm not too sure what he meant by that but just the screaming itself was unprofessional and frankly, very scary. Maybe he thought it was okay to scream at us since no one else was in the restaurant. We silently left the shop. However, when we were standing near our cars saying our goodbyes, the manager parked his truck right next to us and continued to say "I look forward to your one star review. Don't worry I will respond to it" and continued to keep saying "Please post your one star review." and "I can't wait to read your one star review." My friends and I, as 3 young women in a fairly empty parking lot, felt extremely unsafe. Almost to the point we thought we were going to get hate crimed. Because of this, we had to cut our meeting early due to the repeated remarks and harassment we endured from the manager. They seem to be a well performing business as they had regulars come in while I was in the shop. Both my friends even liked their drinks a lot. I unfortunately had a couple questions that he could not answer with professionalism or human decency. If you're not a regular at Pandan Leaf, be prepared to be harassed and yelled at. It seems like other reviewers had the same experience and he responded with the same crassness to them as well. Would give zero stars if I could. read more

It's okay. Seems like owners care a lot, but given the name, way too few pandan items. Very surprising there isn't a pandan smoothie or pandan coconut bubble tea. What is pandan isn't really fresh or all that good. Other items were fine, but if you're going to name yourself after an ingredient, I would really encourage them to source fresh pandan and actually make way more items. I love the fact that it's not the typical boba place. All their drinks are unique! Instead of just tapioca, they mix things up. I love their Avocado Blitz, it's made with real avocado and you get to see/taste all the chunks of avocado they add in there. It's very filling on it's own! The Hawaiin Beef Slim Roll is pretty good. The meat was dryer than I expected but still tasty. The sauce it comes with definitely adds to the delicious flavor.
