They arrived on time, honored the quoted they I was given and didn't charge me for the extra pads I needed for my stuff.

Do not use this company. Quoted a price of $660.00 and $120.00 deposit to move furniture on the next block from where we previous lived. Quote was given by the assistant manager Alex. After completing the move the head mover up the price to $1,190.00. Then we told this mover that is not what Alex stated. I called the police after this mover took the original amount in cash he refused to give us a receipt. The police had to retrieve the receipt so he couldn't pocket money and say nothing was paid. Asst manager Alex was called, which denied any previous conversations. One mover made reference to the type of vehicle we were driving and said we can pay it. Head mover stood in front of our car trying to get hit. Implied our car hit him. Lied to the police saying he did not do this to us. Horrible day for me and husband. Added he has cancer an hemoglobin was low. read more

Overall I was very happy with my moving experience. Maggie was great to deal with on the phone. I had 2 movers with a smaller truck and it worked perfectly. The one concern I had was that one of the workers was talking on his phone (bluetooth headset) during part of the move and fiddling with his phone a lot. My main concern was that his was slowing him down and he would go over the time. They did make it clear to me that there could be extra charges though I think this is a policy that should be changed. Its hard to predict what will be fine and what will need to be wrapped or packed further, and we shouldn't have to worry about it. I was not charged any extras thankfully but it was a concern that made this a 4 instead of 5 star review. read more

BEWARE! Listen up movers: These people are not reliable! They canceled at 5:45PM the evening before the 9AM move. To make matters worse, they fraudulently billed the credit card for services not rendered. What a ripoff!!! Do Not Use Cash or Debit Cards with them! Spoke with Maggie and Alex at the location and both appear to lack basic business etiquette. Great experience. I have never used professional movers before and got multiple quotes and was worried it would cost us an arm and a leg! Someone recommended Crescent, I called, got a quote, and booked right away! We moved from an easy access first floor apartment that they could pull the truck right up to...to a 3rd floor condo with a hallway a half a block long....they were great! Tony, Mario, and Humberto showed up on time and got to work right away...they really know what they are doing and get to it! I liked that Tony went through all the paperwork and explained EVERYTHING so there was no surprises. I will be using Crescent again if we ever move and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone! These guys are fantastic! After calling a number of different companies for a relatively busy moving period (April 29 or April 30) these guys were the only ones who didn't actually laugh at me. They scheduled the move to arrive between 2 and 4. I was pretty nervous and confirmed the appointment with them the day before. When I asked them to up the size of my truck from 15' to 20' they did it with absolutely no issues or hesitations. I also asked them to have them call me when they were close since I wouldn't be at the old apartment. Normally companies say they will do this and the call comes 10 minutes before. Not the case with them! They called me at 1:00 to tell me they would be there at 2:00. Sure enough, 2:07 the truck pulls in and the three guys hop out. After going through the apartment to show them what they would be taking they got right to work carrying out boxes and furniture. We were originally quoted for a 5 hour job and the quote stayed that way after seeing our stuff. Being on a budget I was worried about the length of time it would take them. While it is in their best interest, being paid hourly, to take their time these guys didn't do that in the least! We moved out of a second story and into a third/fourth story (all with stairs) in 3.5 hours! They were professional and very courteous. Upon leaving they offer you to go in and check the truck so that you can see for yourself that they are not trying to take your stuff. The only thing they asked for was water, which on a 75 degree day going up and down that many stairs seems like a fair trade to me! I highly recommend these guys to anybody moving! read more

Not only was my review edited, they sent me a threatening email accusing me of slander. 11 months after the fact, this company is such a joke!! Customer service called me six weeks after the transaction wanting to make good on it, but never followed through on their end of the promise. THESE GENTLEMEN ARE AMAZING. They were so good at helping us to move from one third floor walk up apartment to another. They are incredibly strong and careful with heavy things. HUMAN ANTS - able to lift objects 50x their body weight - or so it would seem to a small, boney armed woman. One man, just one man, picked up my sofa and carried it down three flights of stairs - ALONE - it took three people to get it up there. He just hoisted it over his head and started walking. My mind was blown by these talented gentlemen. None of my fragile antiques were damaged and they worked hard for the entire time that they were on the clock. read more

These guys worked harder than anyone I know. We are hugely appreciative of Antonio and Mario. They were professional, and despite the situation and conditions, were extremely polite and friendly. The only reason why I took off a star was because the job was not staffed appropriately for the job, and it caused unnecessary over-working for the staff. We answered all the questions appropriately upon receiving a quote, but something in the system was incorrect (Maybe because we were moving from a "condo" to a "house"? We quoted 200 boxes + an additional storage facility with 2 bedroom sets and have a large amount of storage in the condo. Not sure what happened.) A job that was scheduled to take 5 hours ended up being 10 hours. However, we were charged only what the normal hourly rate was, and that rate was still lower than that of other companies. The day was ridiculously snowy, and I was nervous for the safety of the workers, but they were prepared with shovels, and worked quickly despite the conditions. To the company's bosses: I hope you are paying these men appropriately. They work very hard for you, and should be appreciated. To anyone complaining: Move yourself or pressure your family and friends to do it a couple of times, and you will be grateful for professionals. If your grandmother's fragile china breaks, either you didn't pack it well or you should move it yourself. read more

These guys were flippin awsome. My husband and I are still in awe of how fast and courteous this experience was. Alex was very nice and honest. We moved from Uk village to Indiana, they were there promptly at 9 am, had everything packed up within an hour and a half, and everything off the truck even quicker . They are definitely worth the extra money compared to what other movers quote (and i'm sure other movers tack on extra fees afterwards, and Crescent was cheaper then what they originally quoted) Nothing was broken and everything was put in it's right place. These guys were great! Walter and Jimmy honored my request and called me at 10 and let me know they were able to move me earlier then my scheduled 2 o clock apointment! The guys showed up at 11 and we're ready to work. Jimmy professionaly but quickly went over my paper work and explained to me the fees and cost for the move.I felt the pricing was fair and he assured me they would move as quick as possible to get the job done in 3 hours and stick close to my budget. Showed up at 11 left the city by 12 in the burbs mundelein to be exact a little after 1 and done and heading out by 2! My realtor had suggested this company & so I recently did a local move after 15 years in the same townhouse. These guys were super professional, I was so impressed. They managed to get out an extremely heavy iron 4 poster bed out (spiral staircase, previous movers tore up walls getting it in) with no damage. I would so highly recommend Jay, Lou and Ricardo. Was quoted 2 movers with 2 hour minimum but 3 movers showed up with a 3 hour minimum. While we like getting what we expected, we think things went much smoother with 3 guys. They showed up on time and went straight to work. They we careful and knew what needed special attention. This was an in town move from 2 high rise apartments and it just went fast. We were done right at the 3 hour mark. With 2 guys, I doubt we have have been done in four or 5 hours. It was just getting things done fast that made this move more enjoyable, (if that's even possible!). Highly recommend Crescent! read more

I moved recently and went with Crescent Movers based on a referral from a friend. This is the first time I used movers and I didn't really know what to expect as far as cost and the actual day of the move. I started asking around and their rate is VERY competitive, don't waste your time getting quotes from other places, they are the cheapest and best quality. I had all my stuff packed up and ready to go, the whole move took 3 hours and cost was exactly how much I was quoted. Everything was moved quickly and with care, nothing was damaged. As previous reviews stated, these guys were cheap and fast. This was my first time hiring a moving company and I was skeptical of these guys because they were so much cheaper than anderson brothers. I will never move myself again. I ordered two guys, and they showed up early and sent out two extra guys for free because it was slow. At first I was thinking they were going to rip me off and charge me for the extra two, but that wasn't the case. That was a total of four guys, who only took about 1.5 hours for a short storage unit to apt move. They were fast, courteous, and acted like they were happy to be working. I saw a few reviews about actual expenses coming in well above the estimate.....I ended up paying 2x the estimate because of several additional hours and 8,000,000 linear feet of plastic wrap used on the job (is Crescent a plastic wrap manufacturer masquerading as a moving company?). I would have been charged even more had I not emptied 1/3 of the truck myself since I was way past my move-in time at the building. I was working way harder than the slackers they sent me. I recently used Crescent Movers and the one word I can say to sum up this business is amateur. I've moved literally 20 times in the past 12 years (government work) and never have I had such an awful experience moving. I should've known that this company was sketchy when I was informed that although the fee to reserve the move could be paid with credit card (a must for their books), I had to pay the remainder with cash (maybe so they can keep things off the books?). Sketchy and amateur. The movers showed up on time and that was about the only thing they did well. I instructed the office manager about several items the movers would need and they showed up completely unprepared. Furthermore, there was a complete disregard for my furniture and my belongings. Many things were scratched and damaged and make sure you understand there is no insurance! They are not responsible for any damage. This right here, to me, is the mark of an amateur moving company. Two out of the three movers weren't polite in the least and one of them used the restroom and clogged the toilet. He felt no need to take care of that. Overall, this was simply an unprofessional and completely disastrous experience for me. No customer service, even attitude when I called to complain, and a complete disregard for my belongings. Why should they care when they know they aren't responsible?! I'd never use them again or recommend their services. read more

I had a 2BR move with many large, heavy items that they moved through tight spots. I had Gerardo, Ray, and Damian this time, and all three of them did a great job with moving in my belongings. Crescent movers helped make my local move very easy. When I called to get a quote, the staff was very professional. They confirmed the day before and on the day of....the 3 guys who moved me were amazing. They showed up a little early and got right to work. Within an hour we were out of my old place and within and hour and half, everything was in my new place(I have a 1 bd), which was very fast considering I moved to a second floor apt and they had stairs & a small issue with my couch not fitting through a doorway they had to deal with. The price was on the lower end from the various quotes I got when calling around (big +). I'll definitely use them again and recommend them to any friends that have to move. read more

Don't waste your time calling these people. I would give them no star at all. They give you a lower quote to lure you and jack up the price when the movers show up! We booked them earlier this week and they were TWO hours late. When the movers showed up, they looked grumpy with a big attitude. They started to complain that their company did not tell them the list of items for this job, and also we needed help to disassemble the beds, which we had clearly stated in our agreement. The leader of this crew Alejandro started to make calls to their office with a speakerphone. I overheard them talked about they sent the wrong crew to the wrong apartment. He wrote a new contract and asked us to sign it. The hourly rate was higher, travel time was nearly double and the total estimate was 3 times higher than the one we had from the salesperson. I understand we have to pay whatever overtime, but it can not be 3 times more! He said this job will take them 10-12 hours. That is ridiculous! We are only a two-person apartment and we already move all the clothes ourselves. All closets are empty. While my husband was on the call with the salesperson we talked previously to try to understand what was going on. The crew just walked out the door and left. The salesperson Allen on the phone was shocked and told us the leader of this crew Alejandro was crazy to work with. He promised to send another crew but of course, that NEVER happened. We called a few times and they said they had no crew available and we should find some other movers. This is very unprofessional putting the customer in between their company's dysfunctional operations and utter miscommunications. You will be sorry to work with them. This was one of the WORST experiences I've ever had with a business. Not only did a 3 hour move turn into a 6 hour move but I was originally quoted $270 and that turned into $470 by the end of the move, something I totally did not expect. One of the movers was annoyed at the beginning of the move complaining to the other mover. He lied to management saying my 'inventory' was a lot more than what I originally stated (it was not). The manager told the movers to take not one but TWO of my televisions 'as collateral' because I was not prepared to pay for 6 hours of moving time. With my television on one of the mover's shoulders he reached out to shake my hand at the end of the move. Really? This must be a joke... or a really bad nightmare. He was a complete jerk. My attorney told me that moving companies taking customers' televisions as collateral is illegal. Nice people, right? Also, the assembly of one of the bed's took a lot longer than it should have. This was a total nightmare and really bad business as well as customer service. The management treats customers like crap comparing their services to transactions with a pawn shop. I seriously have never had an experience like this one and I will never go with this moving company again. I highly recommend you don't either. Oh and I did get my TVs back yesterday and this 'business' is completely shady both in their interactions with customers and the appearances of their office. Moving can be one of the most stressful things to ever do. These guys made our move as easy as pie! We needed our things held overnight and then dropped off the next afternoon after our closing. They told us the day they picked up our things that if we got our keys early to give them a call and they'll come a little earlier. We called them and within 45 minutes they were here hauling things in. They all worked very hard and were very respectful.
