They didn't carry what we need but referred us to APD Appliance Parts Distributor. When I dropped by, I was really impressed by Jim, who when I showed him a video of our dryer and the model number, he was completely familiar with our dryer model, and knew what was wrong. He found the kit we need with all the pieces we need to repair and priced very reasonably. He also told me exactly where I can find more info for how to repair, and was super patient to explain all the details until I felt comfortable. Because we were also experiencing another issue with the dryer needing several cycles to dry (even after servicing our dryer with a dryer vent cleaner company), he also explained how to clean the lint from inside the machine. I had an urgent need to have wood construction debris removed from the side of my house. I know these type of companies don't typically provide quotes until they actually see the load to haul away but I was looking for ballpark costs. I had told the first two companies I estimated what I had could probably fill their truck. I made appointments with both companies for the same appointment window - I figured I'd set the stage for some competitive bidding. In the meantime I called Alameda Junk Collectors and left a voicemail. Mark responded same day via text in the evening. Via text I indicated the debris was for an area of roughly 10' x 20'. Based off of that Mark provided a quote that was arguably HALF of what I was quoted by one of the other companies. We setup an appointment for 11am two days later and I canceled the other appointments. Mark and his helper Nat were at my house at 10:45 ready to go! Mark looked at the debris indicating the quote was still good. He and Nat meticulously loaded the haul so they could maximize the space for another job after mine. Once the truck was loaded they cleaned the area where the debris was piled up. The complete job from start to finish took just under two hours time.
