But, because the Sportage has it's attachment holes set farther back, the receiver was too far back to accept the bike rack. James (the installer) quickly saw the issue, and said that they would order a different hitch and they would switch out the original hitch at no additional charge. When the new hitch arrived it became clear that it's geometry was very similar to the original hitch, so James spent a bunch more time researching various options that might work. He found one that looks promising and had it delivered to the shop within a couple days. This one looked much better, and James swapped out the old one with the new one, and it solved the problem... the bike rack attaches perfectly! James was AWESOME to work with. I know these type of companies don't typically provide quotes until they actually see the load to haul away but I was looking for ballpark costs. I had told the first two companies I estimated what I had could probably fill their truck. I made appointments with both companies for the same appointment window - I figured I'd set the stage for some competitive bidding. In the meantime I called Alameda Junk Collectors and left a voicemail. Mark responded same day via text in the evening. Via text I indicated the debris was for an area of roughly 10' x 20'. Based off of that Mark provided a quote that was arguably HALF of what I was quoted by one of the other companies. We setup an appointment for 11am two days later and I canceled the other appointments. Mark and his helper Nat were at my house at 10:45 ready to go! Mark looked at the debris indicating the quote was still good. He and Nat meticulously loaded the haul so they could maximize the space for another job after mine. Once the truck was loaded they cleaned the area where the debris was piled up. The complete job from start to finish took just under two hours time.
