I love this place. Whenever i need a piece of equipment for once a year, example, lawn aerator, this is the place to go. Feeling frisky and want to paint your house??? Why buy a brand new unit you'd use once?? Rent it. I have always been greeted and helped by friendly and knowledgeable employees. They explain how to use the machine and help loading if necessary. Came here because I was looking to rent a metal detector. They actually have one! It's not a high quality one but it worked for what I needed it for. The check out process was super simple. I was in and out within 10 minutes, maybe even less. Returning it was equally simple. My delight was they didn't charge me for the full 24 hour rental even though they had the right to do so. 02/22/25- Thanks to this Pleasant Hill location as this is the only branch close to Vallejo that is open on a Saturday. Service was amazing! Thanks to Devon and Kirk. They have a wide selection of tools for rent and you don't need a reservation as they always have it available. Needed to rent an electric snake 50ft to be used for clogged kitchen sink. This happens every year that a plumber has to service it that will costs me at least $125 just to run their electric snake for only about 5mins. I saw an ad on tv and thought to give it a try and do it myself for a fraction of a costs. For less than 60$, I can rent it for 4 hours minimum or a day or days, whatever you want. The electric snake for rent was clean and not dirty. I was expecting a run-down, dirty equipment, but it's clean and looks new. Devon was very friendly and helpful. He clearly explained how to use the snake and answered every question that I have. He is very calm, patient and does not intimidate the customers by saying "you can't do this, you can't do that!" He even load the equipment in my suv and kudos to that. He is very humble, straight to the point and really knows what he is doing. When it was loaded to my vehicle, got a chance to meet another friendly employee, Kirk. He is very nice and has a great sense of humor. When I got home, I just followed the simple instructions and run the electric snake twice and voila! Clogged is gone. I went back and return the equipment for about 2 hours only including my drive time. Upon pulling up, Kirk was ready to help unload the electric snake. (Boy, that is heavy! :)) We went back up to the register and the return process is fairly simple. Btw, there's a 200$ security deposit, but don't worry it will be returned when you return back the equipment. There's also insurance if you want, but I did not opt for one. Will recommend for any tools that you may need. Whether it's a small job as a saw all the way to the heavy equipment, they have it here. The shop is clean, too and also sells second hand branded equipment if you are looking for one. If only I have known about Cresco rentals, I would have been saving a lot ever since. And the thing of it is, the plumbers make it a super quick job and not really clearing the clog for at least doing it for more time, rather than a less than 5 minutes. Now I understand why.. so that you will need their service again after a few months. But if you are the one doing your own, you can do it thoroughly and make sure that you will run the snake at least twice to free up a lot of debris that caused the clog. This was my second rental from the Cresco located in Pleasant Hill. As always, the staff provided exceptional service and support. I rented the SUNFIRE SF80 Portable Radiant Heater to heat the backyard for an outdoor party. Carlos and Devon assisted me when I picked up the heater and walked me through the steps of operation. Once I got the heater home, I had to call Cresco to troubleshoot the heater. Devon took the time to help and stayed on the phone until I was able to get the heater to start. Unfortunately, the heater was too loud and served as a distraction at the party. After 10 minutes, we turned it off and it served as a conversation piece throughout the night. On Monday, I returned the heater and spoke with Jimmy at the front desk. After explaining that we were unable to use the heater, Jimmy empathized with me and waived the rental fees. Talk about customer service. I will definitely support this local business in the future and appreciate the professionalism of the staff from start to finish. read more

My experience with Cresco Equipment Rentals on Monument Blvd. Has been the best since I first stumbled thru their doors about 5 yrs ago. I usually rent Cargo Trailers. I was a loyal customer to Wally's rental. I had a problem with my wiring harness Wally's told me to go to U Haul. u Haul told me 3 hrs to look at it. I was in a Jam I drove to many locations to get it fixed , I desperately needed a trailer for a catering event. I went to Cresco, gosh I wish I remembered the name of the guy who helped me, he had moved up with the company, he told me to relax, he would fix my problem. After he fixed it he politely asked me if I was going to rent a trailer from them, OF Course I did, & I've been a loyal customer since. My first time at Cresco and all I have to say is TOP NOTCH! It doesn't get any better than Matt and the crew. Don't go to Home Depot to rent your tools, go to Cresco on Monument and ask for Matt. From pick up to return, the process was simple, fast and easy. They even loaded it and unloaded for me. After having a horrible experience renting from another Cresco, I was ready to give up on the whole place, but I needed to get a job done sooner rather than later so I called the guys over in Pleasant Hill. I relayed my story from the other rental place (including the part where the equipment broke due to normal wear an tear and I was basically told to go screw), and asked if this happens again how would they handle it. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and reassuring that a new device would be provided or a refund would be issued. He seemed amazingly friendly for someone working at a rental yard where my past experiences have found other employees to be more gruff. It was a whole different type of people. The Good: Some of the nicest, most accommodating and overtly friendly people I have ever met in any rental place ever. Period. The product was provided in good shape, worked perfectly and was accepted back with absolute professionalism and, believe it or not, cheerfulness. The Bad: Nothing I could see. The mediocre: Nothing. Overall: I never thought I would be giving 5 stars to a rental yard, but these have to be the happiest, most friendly people I've met in those circumstances. I only expect to be tolerated by the staff at these places. I get it, They have to work pretty hard and put up with stupid questions from people who have very little idea how to use the equipment they are renting. That could get on anyone's nerves. There must be something in the water at this place because every person I saw was remarkably happy, friendly and helpful. Good job guys. We love this place. Though we don't usually love the reason why we need to rent from them! I mean, they have cool equipment to do really fun jobs, but when we need to rent from them, it means we are dealing with roof leaks. We came to Pleasant Hill bc the Lafayette location was out of dehumidifiers but saw that PH had some and transferred me over. Jim was able to place one on hold for me to pick up the next day. Jim, Carlos, and team were all SUPER helpful, willing to answer all of my questions and never sounded annoyed. Best of all, they brought smiles to the table and happy demeanors. We cannot say how much THAT is appreciated when dealing with the frustrations of water intrusions. We will without hesitation recommend them and use them again. read more

Recently did a gut renovation including an addition on a home in WC. Matt, Jim, and Devan were with me the whole way. I feel like I have rented just about everything in their entire yard from dump trailers, Bobcats, hoses, rebar benders, you name it, I rented it from these guys! Not once, in sometimes daily trips to their yard over the course of a year was I not greeted with outstanding customer service. They are just nice guys, never judgemental, never got attitude from them, and always sympathatic. Amazingly, I never had a single piece of gear not work. They maintain their stuff to a high level and always make sure it works before it leaves the yard. The only problem I ever had was fixed with a phone call to Matt who told me where to tighten a hydraulic line and the problem was fixed in minutes. I used many vendors on this project but I literally felt like they were part of my crew. For a supplier to have that level of concern is rare but it is even more outstanding for a group of guys that never stepped foot on the jobsite! All reviews here are spot on! I rented a 14" concrete saw and heavy duty70 lbs. jack hammer and was intimidated on using this equipment since I've never had before. Matt and associates made me feel confident that I can use it all properly and safely. These guys are great in all respects - service, price, friendliness, experts, and positive humans. They made me actually feel great when I left and when I returned the equipment! All this from a tool rental shop?! Absolutely. There's another tool rental shop almost in my backyard, but the extra 10 minutes of driving is nothing to the value added I get from renting from them. I think there are 4 rental outlets closer to my house in Walnut Creek, but after trying the closer ones, this place is always worth the extra drive. Their equipment is well maintained and replaced as it gets older so that you you are not renting the antiques others often rent out at other outlets. I've been a contractor for decades, so I rent the occasional tool. The guys at the desk know their stock, treat customers well and hustle behind the desk and in the yard. When things go wrong (and if you rent enough stuff, something will go wrong eventually) they do not see misfortune as a profit pool. Last rental was a 75 foot self-feeding drain snake, and the cutting head came off in the line. PITA, I had to stop work and drive over to get a new head to get the job done. But they had a new head in stock, they did not try to blame me for the loss of the head, and didn't try to charge me more time on the rental. The difference between a decent and a very good service provider is not easy to tell when things go as expected, but when things go wrong it becomes evident. I have been renting tools from Cresco Rents in Concord for over 10 years. I am a general contractor and work all over the bear area. Even though there may be a Cresco Rents in the town I'm working in, I will still drive a little farther to rent equipment from the Concord yard. I know that Matt (the manager) or any of the guys at the counter will do everything they can to get me the right tool and out the door in an expeditious manner. They ask the right questions to make sure I'm getting the right tool for my job. I had a clogged line going out to my sewer, so rented a sewer line root cutter, and it was a smooth process. The staff took a bit of time to help me sort out which one would be the best fit for my needs, and gave me some advice on how best to use it and use it safely. The rental price was good enough that I don't need to consider purchasing my own even though these roots will probably need to be cut back every year or so. read more
