I'm very happy with their service! My wife called to rent a kids table and chairs and reserved it under her name. I went and picked it up and the workers loaded everything for me. The price was very fair (even though my mother in law told me she was charged double when she used them. Not sure why). We picked it up on a Friday and returned everything on a Monday. We didn't have to wait long at all to be helped either. Overall I'm happy with the experience and will be going back again. I hope to continue to receive this type of service. read more

Ended up using Wally's on a whim! We were in need of chairs and tables for an event, and with only so many within the area, I'm satisfied we went with Wally's. To be honest, I actually reached out to a different vendor first. The first place didn't do drop off/pick up's over the weekend and suggested I reach out to Wally's to see if they can facilitate the drop off/pick up over the weekend. So I gave Wally's a call, not even realizing they also rent out chairs and tables. After talking on the phone, we decided to just rent directly from Wally's. They were much closer and accommodated a Saturday pick-up. Everything went smooth. They had the types of tables and chairs we wanted to use. The worker was friendly and had us all set up and ready to go for our rental. Per my fiancé pick up was easy and drop off was too. Would def use them again in the future. read more

My husband and I rented a Tiller from here a couple of weeks ago. It worked for about 10 minutes before it stalled and wouldn't drive anymore. We had it over the weekend so we couldn't call the company to ask about returning/replacing it for us until Monday. When we returned the tiller we told them it wasn't functioning. They told us they would check out the tiller for repairs and give us a call back in a few days or just refund us our money. A few days came and went - we never got a call. My husband called them 3x over the week. We were hoping to get it back to till our yard or just get a refund. We ended up having to get our credit card company involved to dispute the charge. I don't recommend renting anything from them - cuz they'll rent you old machinery that doesn't work. We ended up renting with Cresco instead. Cresco told us they have 7 tillers for rent - so if we had any issues they would be happy to replace it. read more

Joe showed me something with my car that i never knew Just so i didn't have to spend a ton on delivery, that was super chill and nice of him. I have been building and repairing houses longer than these guys have been around and to talk to me like as if I'm not as smart as them is irritating. Based in that experience alone I have starting to go to Cresco. I use to go to Wally's a lot but since the new owners it's not the same the last few years. I give them 3 stars based on the fact their pricing is fair and equipment always seem to work if I have time and patience for their attitudes but I'm starting to use Cresco more and more. I wasn't about to pay an A/V company $700 to rent a projector for two days..Come on, I could buy one for that! I only had a couple of days to figure out an alternative plan. I called Wally's and got the same thing for $150. Wally's saved my association $550. The projector worked great. The rental process was a breeze. Pick up and and drop off was a snap. We have rented from Wally's a few times, sometimes they were very helpful, sometimes service wasn't that great. This will be our last time renting from them. We called onahead of time to reserve a garden tool and the guy on the phone said were all set to pick it up the day we reserved it. We get to Wally's on our "reservation day" and they had rented the tool out!! The guy who was at the store said these items are first come first serve, which is not what the guy over the phone said!! The reason for the poor review- I went to rent a floor sander. I am a home owner and was remodeling a room. I (as a woman) completed all of the work independently. Okay, so back to the review... I had gone in, the first guy I met with was very cool and let me know the machine was heavy and I would need another person to help me lift in/out of the car, totally understandable, plus I did not want to mess up my seats in my challenger, so I asked my brother to swing by my house with his truck on his way home from work so I could rent the floor sander. I go back with my brother, who just sort of stood back, I was clearly the person renting the floor sander; I said I was sanding the floor of only one room but wanted to do it quickly, I specifically asked for the sander, looked at the options on the computer with the guy, was the person who asked the questions, hell, I was already in their system as I had previously rented there. I paid and signed the responsibility for the sander. Everything was fine, until the guy brought the floor sander to my brother's truck (where we were both standing) and proceeded to look directly at my brother to go over the instructions with him, instead of me. Seriously? I was the one renting the sander, I am the home owner, I even said I was doing the project myself, but I guess he was too intimidated to explain the complexities of an "on/off" switch to a woman. If possible I would give them zero stars. It was my first time and last time going to them. I rented a chain saw from Steve for a 24-hour period to cut through thick branches where I live. They said the total would be around $75 for the 24-hour rental. I was able to cut through some branches and small trunks but not the majority of the thick oleander that I have at my home. I returned it barely four hours later since it wouldn't cut what I intended it for. A different employee by the name of Ian helped me and noticed that the chain had gone a little slack and took it in back to tighten and test it. I wasn't given a chain wrench to tighten it. After he tested it and it wasn't effective he talked with Steve about what could be done about this since it was now 5pm when they close. Ian came in and said that he could suspend the contract and have their mechanic look at it sometime the next morning on Saturday as he wasn't there anymore and had gone home. He could fix it and then give it back afterwards. I said no thank you as I needed it now and later Saturday was too late for me. I then asked to return it now since their chain saw didn't perform for what I needed it to. At that point Ian said we can give you a bigger sized one to rent. I said no thanks on renting a more expensive one. So for a four hour rental of a chain saw that was terrible at what it was supposed to do in cutting small branches and the like they charged me $73.52. I didn't even empty a single tank of gas while working on my branches. Ian said that the bar oil was low when I gave it to him upon return. I replied with I was supposed to refill the oil when I refilled the gas tank. Which is what is listed on their receipt. Ian had no response to me repeating what's listed on the receipt. Ian insinuated that I was somehow at fault for it not running properly. Never once did Ian apologize for the shortcomings of their product or that their mechanic had gone home before closing. Disrespectful customer service from this company, poor selection, and unapologetic behaviors. Avoid this business at all costs. They will gouge you as they did me and they don't care about how they take care of the community through deception. Additionally, when I was talking with Ian, Steve(with beard) was renting out a stump grinder to another client. His client said that he probably wasn't going to need it for the full 24 hours. Steve responded with we'll prorate the amount that you didn't use it for. Ian charges me for 24 hours even though I only had it for 4, and only a few feet away Steve says something completely opposite for less than 24 hours. read more

One star because they have been the company i have been using for years for our event. Unfortunately, I won't go back to them because since covid they raised their price so much but I paid less attention. Yesterday, I asked for a quote for one 20x20 tent and a one 16x12 stage which is something I have been renting from them every year except 2020 and 2021 because of covid. I received a quote it was $2900.00 for one tent and a stage for one-day event. I questioned the tent because this time they charged me $800; the guy put me on hold and came back and said it was the wrong price they will send me a new quote. They sent me another quote which was $2500. I was ready to pay the total amount for my order, and the man on the phone said oh, you need to pay $300 more for setting up the stage. I asked him why, when they already charged me $580 for a setup. He said that the fee is for the tent set up only. I asked why $580 seems so expensive, and he said, " oh, thats for 6 hours set up. I asked him to wait on the phone, I looked on my invoice two years ago when I ordered three 20x20 tents, tables and chairs and no stage. They charged me $120 for 2 hours of setup. I returned to the phone and asked why you charged me $580 for setting up one tent. And he said oh because it will take 3 hours to put up and 3 hours taking it down. The guy I talked to was not happy when I told him that doesn't make sense that they charge a $580 set up fee for one tent, and when they set up 3 20x20 tents last two years, it was $120 for 2 hours. And now they want to add $300 more to set up the stage. So they want to charge me $880 for setting up the stage and one tent. He told me they must keep up with their competitors, so I told him I should reach out to them because this is ridiculous overprized. I hung up the phone, and I called Gnagon Rental in Lafayette/walnut creek, and they gave me a quote of $1155 for the same exact order I got a quote from Wallys; that amount includes the setup and delivery. I hope clients pay attention to their quotes because I almost fell for this. It is so sad that they take advantage of their clients that way. You won't believe how much they nickel and dime you. If you are looking for a rental, consider getting two or three quotes from different places before you make your final decision. The other thing about Wally is that once you book, you are nonrefundable, and they want the whole amount up front. So goodbye to Wally forever! read more

I am not sure about the overall business itself but the sales guy that helped me was terrible. I rented a industrial sander... It did not work when I got it to the jobsite. I returned it and asked for another and they told me they did not have any more in stock... When went to sign the paperwork for the return there was a 50% charge.... we argued for 20 min with them insisting I must pay for taking the sander off site even though it was broken upon use. I understand why they have this policy because there can be customers that rent something, get the job done and then rip the company off by saying it didn't work. I rented an industrial sander to sand a 1500 sq ft deck and purchased 12 large sand papers. I obviously could not get the job done in the 30 min I had the sander away from the store. This was more than obvious to the sales guy.... I eventually received a refund after I said I would stand in front of the store telling people they rent broken equipment and then charge for it... read more

I've rented equipment from this business in the past, but never again after my most recent experience. Either they forgot that customers actually like to be treated as humans or they simply don't care. I went to rent equipment the other morning and thought maybe they were just having a rough morning. At the counter, no greetings, no eye contact, not even a rudimentary "hello". I might as well have been dealing with a robot . Upon returning equipment, I was basically ignored while one counter guy waited on one customer, while the other two guys behind the counter discussed some other issue and did every they could possible do to avoid acknowledging me or make eye contact. A simple "we will be with you in a second sir" would have been fine, but nothing. The two walked into the back are, with no acknowledgement that I was waiting there and had been for 5 minutes. As I stood inside at the counter, one of the robots came around the side of the building outside. While outside, looking down he said, "you returning"... I had no idea that he was directing that question to me. Nothing positive from this guy or any of them. All I can say is that they must be miserable human beings (and/or the owners as well?). They should clean house and start over. Anyway...enough said. I'm going to Cresco next time. read more

Looking at reviews this store has it's no surprised on the low ratings. I just called them to get some information on a few things I wanted to rent as I'm going to attempt to do my own landscaping & the guy who answered the call was soooo unhelpful. I've done some research on what tools I needed to dig up the ground and put in sprinklers but I had no clue exactly what size of machine I needed. So when I asked what he recommended based on the size of the yard, he really didn't have any advice for me and it sounded like I was wasting his time. It was such poor customer service. He was rude and didn't seem to care if I rented from them at all. I called Cresco rentals and asked them the same thing, the guy there was extremely polite, informative and even gave me advice on my project. Cresco pricing was a little higher and their store is farther away but I'm willing to pay the extra and go the distance just based on the customer service they provided over the phone. I personally would not recommend renting from wallys and recommend renting from Cresco instead! read more

I am trying to rent a dance floor (amongst other things for a function we are having) - the last one available in the size I am looking for and they refuse to hold it for me - my husband rushed back from the city to book it with credit card since they only accept a faxed version or in person (well now - in this day and age of identity theft thats just asking for trouble right ?) My husband could not get there in time before they close, so called and asked them to hold it once more after I had called in the day earlier asking the same thing (I also work in the city and could not get away) - and they still are refusing to be accommodating. Sounds like in these times of economic slowdown, they dont want business, either that or their customer service is in the crapper. The people who work here are very Friendly and are very Helpful. I remember first using them for our Wedding 10 years ago, and we are still using them. The Bubble Machine I rented is brand new, as well as the Chairs. I arrived before 5pm, and the place was about to close; but they helped me quick and courteously.
