The customer service was excellent; prices were good. We bought a cinnamon-rasin bagel with cream cheese, and a blueberry bagel ( nothing on it) to go because I loved the color. Ive been here a few times and each time is more of a disappointment. Today was the last straw. I ordered a cheesesteak and waited 15 min for the guy to figure out what that meant and make it. I watched him pour a bottle of seasoning on the steak and then try and sweep off the extra, then wrap it up and give it to me. I took it because I thought maybe he got it all, and frankly I was hungry. It was a salt lick. I understand that inventory costs have increased considerably, but I think it's an inexcusable to serve a sandwich like this for over $7. On my last visit, I ordered a Chicken Fajita Panini (listed as a choice on their menu.) What I received was a Chicken Fajita Quesadilla. I grew up in this area during the 60's thru mid 90's, but have lived out of state for 26 years. I was in town visiting my awesome mom, and came upon this bagel & deli store. Man, am I glad I did! The bagels here are large and delicious, with just the right amount of 'snap' to them when you bite in. Nice and chewy on the inside, and a perfect firm texture on the outside. We just don't have bagels like this in the Midwest, or many other parts of the country. If you live in this area, appreciate this fact. For an overpriced bagle shop, the service here absolutely sucks! Owners/managers are rude af and that attitude trickles down to their staff. I have been here several times and I will not come here anymore. Enough is enough and I choose to vote with my dollars. It takes forever for them to put your order together, and they don't remember your order because they can't seem to write it down, instead they will keep asking you to repeat your order 6,7,12 times while they are making it. My server lady was focused on her coworker making another client's order instead of paying attention to my order, what she was supposed to be preparing! Like, why are you looking over there when you have priorities to take care of over here? Another time a friend and I bought big sandwiches, and there was still 30 minutes left till closing, and the guy who was counting the money kicked us out while we were in the middle of eating our food at the tables. It saddens me to post my first non-5 star review. But the time has come. 1. Please add more cream cheese. My last bite reminded me of the time I got 20pc nuggets from McDonald's and found out at home they only gave me 2 sauces. Now I always check the bag before I leave. Which leads me to my next point.. 2. Make it mandatory for the staff to double check the order is right before giving it to the customer. It's a simple solution to an awfully common problem. Or at the very least, don't accuse me of giving you the wrong order. I order the same thing every f*ckin' time. 3. The line moves slower than depressed sperm. And I realize if you implement my previous comments, the wait time could be longer. But if you insist on making any improvements, may I suggest moving the credit card machine directly next to the registers. Then throw it out, and replace it with one that doesn't require a signature. 4. Any staff member using the grill should always reconfirm "salt, pepper & ketchup" with the customer. This criticism is actually what sparked my review. It's amazing how many times I've asked for "salt, pepper & ketchup" and never got it. It makes the biggest difference. Sure, you might enjoy an Eminem song on the radio; but without the curse words, you can't appreciate the full body of work. p.s. The lox bagels by the register are delicious. The food is average, expensive, they charge 3.99% fee on EVERY credit card purchase and today was the 3RD time I was left on hold on the phone (for over TEN MINUTES each time) only to be ignored when I call back/no remorse upon arrival to the store. I know for fact the gentleman with the mustache leaves the phone off the hook when I call ( be it 6am or 10am)....This man without fail always has an attitude when I come in...as if I'm annoying him trying to spend $20+ most of the time I order.
