What a fun laid back atmosphere an old furniture place converted into a brewery, yes I asked the bartender what this location was before, due to the extra open atmosphere. They also have an outside area as well. Now to the beer. Every beer I tasted was excellent I have to say that they have unique beer with flavors from Chai, to cantaloupe usually things I rarley find in a brewery. I had the braveheart 2 a Scotch ale that tasted like raisins and a small hint of plum. I enjoyed it its a very top toet beer in my book, and I rated it higher than KBS. My wife had the sweet street mule a beer cocktail with sweet street beer, ginger beer and a hint of lime juice something that would be excellent for breakfast. I sampled the bloody fifth. There is not a beer I didn't like in this place and I also sampled more. I must say this place was impressive I'll be back again for the food which looked excellent. This place blows, sat for 15 minutes without being acknowledged nor served. Please seat your self apparently means please serve yourself.

The food was good for us tonight. I have read reviews of it being hit or miss but we got a total hit night. I had the beef tacos and my husband had pork empanadas. I wish you could order three different tacos instead of just one style but that's a minor issue. The hot sauces are excellent. Beers are good too. If you come for nothing you else, come for the beers. The craft beer scene is oversaturated in GR so it's nice when breweries can still come up with unique and good brews. The Bloody Fifth was my favorite of the three I sampled (Log Jam and Panda were the others). It's a large space but doesn't feel overwhelming. read more

I visited this new brewery on a Wednesday night after work. I was surprised how busy it was and the amount of large parties! Definitely an accommodating space for large groups. Open floor plan, variety of seating like booths, high tops, and seating at the bar. I loved how they made the display behind the counter: a large mirror and very modern white tap handles. The service was on pointe! I ordered the Fox Deluxe, a floral citrus multigrain brew--a mild IPA on the stronger side at 6.67%. LOVE that their selection is 100% Michigan beers all crafted right there at the brewery! My friend ordered the chips & queso ($4) which I tried and was amazing! I'm giving 4 stars because some of the furniture and curtains looked kind of like random stuff from a thrift store, and I wasn't 'wow'd' by the place overall. The beer here is crisp, flavorful and not overpowering. That's unique in a town where breweries try to outdo one another with over the top high alcohol brews. The space is also bright and a marked difference from the typical masculine mix of steel and concrete that makes up most brew pubs in the area. The corner location and big windows makes for an open and light neighborhood feel. The food pairs well with their beer. I tried Street Style beef tacos and tofu empanadas. Both paired perfectly with the hoppy, smooth, almost citrus flavor of their Grale ale. And being on the North end I can't wait to make this my new neighborhood watering hole. read more

Tried for the first time as this new bar came highly recommended. We floor plan is simple, not cluttered plenty of room to bring friends, move tables/chairs as needed. We were greeted right away with water and menus. Grabbed a local ale, light, crisp and flavorful. Ordered nachos, tried all the six sauces, the hotter varieties are my fav. The staff was excellent, friendly and not pushy. Even the the GM stopped at our table to welcome us. Prices are right in line with our budget for a quick light dinner. Been there twice. Beer is pretty good, enough variety and would definitely like to try more. Haven't had the food but friends say it's good. Service has been brutal. First time took forever to get drinks so we skipped dinner and walked down the street to somewhere else. Second time we waited for our server for so long we just ended up leaving. Loved this place. It has a different feel from the typical brewery with large windows and tin ceilings. The beers are cool since they again aren't just the typical IPA or Stout but the brewer is doing different flavor profiles making it a place for true beer fans to try a different take on the norm. Food was amazing and I'm not a fan usually of Latin American cuisine. Loved the fact the are adding drapes and curtains to go along with the booths which have helped a lot with the sound problem. We're pretty much regulars. We like all the seating areas but do tend to gravitate toward a 4-top near the bar. My husband likes GRale and I like Creston's darker brews. My current go-to is Quimby. Full bodied, flavorful and balanced. They've recently changed the menu and added brunch. We weren't hungry on Sunday afternoon but we wanted to test out one of the new dishes and settled on the tots. We really enjoy the occasional changes in the beer menu, which give us an opportunity to try something new, in addition to multiple options for drink sizes. I was really hopeful about Creston Brewery. The location, the decor, and the bar area were super cute. We had a larger group (8 people) and were fully expecting to wait for seating a little longer because of that. No problem. By the time we finally scored a table, a server approached and told us we would have to move in an hour because the band was going to start. No problem. We stayed at the table for a bit and drank out beers. We decided to wait to order food until we found a permanent spot. The server told us there was a large table opening on the other side of the bar, so we went there and sat down...only to see a sign that says "Bar Service Only". Score! We read the reviews as posted, we went - hoping for the best. It was! Friday afternoon early. Sat at the bar. The decor rather reminded me of a Cuban lounge we once inhabited. Ms Liz made sure we knew what was what on the brew chart and menu. Interesting the way the brew chart is calibrated, but fairly easily understood! I am a hopgal, so I chose the double IPA, Spottieottie. Delicious. My man got the FoxDeluxe. Also, way good. We needed a bit of nourishment while we waited for the the main course. As a private joke ( "fried bananas?! Okay!) we got the sharable of fried plaintains. Oh, my goodness! So, good. All of the house made sauces add additional delights. Then, our main entree....burrito with grilled skirt steak! Forgive me for not recalling the fancy dancy name attached to it, but whatever it was, you want to eat it! So good! Pros- beer was great! My fav was the GRale. I'm a fan of IPAs and there were several offerings. Con- Waitress never came back to check on us after the food was brought, and it wasn't that busy. An ingredient was missing and I was looking for her for at least 15 min. Quesadilla/rice was bland but there is room for improvement here. Please buy acoustic paneling and drapes, and replace the faded/tattered "were red in 1991" awnings outside or remove them altogether. I WILL be back, however. The beer was that good. read more
