I have been here twice in the last two weeks because the weather has been so nice lately and Third Nature has one of the best outdoor patios in the West MI area! The BBQ chicken pizza was my favorite food item we ordered and I got the pomegranate seltzer which was delicious. The first time I got Granny Z's cider but it wasn't sweet enough for me, just my personal preference! Both times I had a great experience, but I would say you can't come here and be in a rush, the service was on the slower side both times I've been recently. Depsite the slower service, I would still go back for the patio and the pizza! They have TONS of outdoor seating and I can't wait until the food truck in the outdoor area is open to order directly from there. read more

Visited Third Nature for the first time for a friend's wedding. The staff here offerings - from the beer (hi pumpkin pie ale!!) to the food - were awesome. I was really impressed with the diversity of the buffet food so guessing that they have some solid menu items if you come here regularly - we had: Cocktail Hour Appetizers: dry-rub wings, warm soft pretzel sticks Dinner Buffet: Pulled Pork Sandwich Bar, Street Bowl Bar, Caesar Salad, Brisket Chipotle Chili, Beer Cheese Mac (Cavatappi pasta, beer cheese sauce, sriracha bread crumbs & scallions). I also thought it was such a nice touch that they had grilled cheese and "regular" mac & cheese for the kiddos. The venue itself is pretty lovely - especially right now in fall as it's right along a trail & surrounded by trees. It's also a pretty large outdoor space with firepits and really cool Adirondack chairs with the shape of Michigan Mitten as the backrest. My husband and I have been wanting to try this place out and thought a Saturday afternoon would be a great time! Our experience did not disappoint! Upon arrival we noticed lots of parking and a beautiful outdoor sitting area. As we entered we were greeted by friendly staff who gave us menus and informed us of our seating options. There is indoor, outdoor, and bar seating available. Our server got to our table fairly quickly and was attentive our whole stay. Food: -Chicken gyro with fries. Our pita was a little overcooked and we could have used some more sauce on our gyro but the fries were delicious. -Pretzel with beer cheese. We made the trip out here because we wanted to sit in the Biergarten :) i loved the variety of seating and how much room there was for how many people there were. The inside was very nice as well. Big nature murals everywhere! They were quite busy when we arrived so it took some time for someone to greet us and find us a table. Once we were seated though our server came out right away with waters and got our drink order in. To start we tried out their Bavarian Pretzel! This was so good and the salt was abundant! Really liked dipping my pretzel in the cheese and the other end in the mustard. Such a good combination of flavor. Really loved this starter. We ordered a flight to get more tastes of their alcohol and I liked some (not much of a beer drinker) and my partner really liked ALL of them! For entrees, we both wanted the chicken sandwich. The white cheddar was melted perfectly over the crispy chicken and whatever sauce they used was the right amount of spicy. I absolutely devoured this. This was a pretty cool spot for a new date night idea. We were specifically looking for an outdoor patio and we have always heard great things about Third Natures outdoor space. It's definitely a drive from us but we enjoyed it on a beautiful day. The staff was all very friendly and made great suggestions on their food and drink menus. We sat down at the end of happy hour so we quickly ordered the pretzel sticks with beer cheese and a few drinks. We enjoyed our drinks and the pretzel sticks were burning hot and delicious. We both liked the side of mustard more than the beer cheese dip. The wings are a special on Wednesdays for a half dozen order for only $5. We were shocked by this deal because a full order was almost $22.. this price seemed insane for 12 wings. For our dinner, I had the fried chicken sandwich with a side Caesar salad and my wife had the street bowl. They were both very good but my wife said she preferred mine. The portions were great which matches the pricing. Overall, cool outdoor space that's great for families or dogs. Overall feel and vibes of the place were great. An early spring night (around 5pm) with the doors open and music going was great. I loved that kids were able to move and play outside! Our waitress was so kind and the drinks were great too! The food however, was the total opposite of the great experience. We weren't upset when she crossed off items on the menu that weren't available (even though I had chose the place specifically bc of one of those items), just very disappointed in the taste and quality of what we did order. The chicken sandwich and burger looked straight out of the freezer with no flavor whatsoever. Both types of fries were the same way and cold when they got set on our table. We came here on a Wednesday night It was not too busy. It was also trivia night so a few more people kept trickling in. I love their beer selection. I opted for a flight and most of the beers were pretty good. I ordered the Banh Mi Burger with sweet potato fries. Burger was very good with the veggies on it. The cucumber slices were pretty big but gave it a fresh taste. The sweet potato fries were kinda soggy and kinda disappointing since it was a $3.00 up charge. They have a nice little kids menu that made my 3 year old happy. And even a little dessert menu. We tried the crème brûlée. It was very tasty. Our service was pretty good. Our server was attentive at first and then seemed to get lost. Overall, it was a good time. We tried to play a little trivia but only got through a few rounds. Great spot for a casual hang with friends, the family, and the dog! Their outdoor patio is unmatched in the GR area and includes a large space with multiple fire pits, tables, lounge seating, and yard games. It's also right along the path of the White Pine Trail which is great for bikers and walkers/running looking for a starting or ending point. Our kids love it here because they aren't tied to their seats. There is plenty of room for them to run around in the surrounding grass and up towards the trail. And you won't be alone... it's very family friendly. Dogs are welcome too and you'll be able to visit with plenty. Food is fantastic. We love their hearty salads and slow roasted meats - burnt ends are fantastic. And they have an excellent kids menu. We've loved all the food we've tried there. The brews are also good. Hadn't been here in a few years after some disappointing experiences but was told they had really improved so decided to give them another chance. I ordered the Gyro, described on the menu as "spiced grilled chicken, red onion, cucumber, sumac, tomato, tzatziki sauce on grilled flatbread." When it came out, I took one bite and realized that instead of "grilled chicken" it was filled with smoked pulled pork, seasoned with spices perfectly appropriate for bbq but disgusting on what is supposed to be a Greek/Mediterranean sandwich. No big deal, I thought. They made a mistake, that happens, Im sure they'll fix it. When the server came over to check on the table and I pointed it out that my gyro was loaded with bbq pork, rather than acknowledging an issue or trying to make it right, she very defensively tried to gaslight me e into believing "that's just what our chicken is like." First, I've eaten a lot of chicken and a lot of pork over the years. This was pulled pork. Second, If it wasn't, that's an even bigger issue. The menu didn't say "smoked pulled chicken" and I never would have ordered the gyro if it did. If your chicken is indistinguishable from pulled pork, that doesn't say anything good about either option. Third, if this was indeed how they intended this dish to come out then the chef is completely incompetent because the flavor and spices on the protein simply don't go with a gyro. At all. It wasn't just me. Our table of 6 all were disappointed with their (quite pricey) dinners. For example, my wife ordered the frisée salad and also paid a $6 up charge to add "grilled salmon." What came out was a small salad topped with maybe, maybe1 oz of *shredded* salmon. What?!?!? Pulled salmon isn't a thing, for good reason. If you are going to serve that for some reason, that needs to be clearly noted on the menu. It was pretty obvious that it was shredded to mask the tiny amount of salmon they were offering for the extra $6. The grand finale was the server clearing my untouched "bbq pulled pork gyro" and bringing back the bill, for the full amount and with no acknowledgement or apology. We politely paid, left a respectable tip, and left there. For the last time ever. read more

I absolutely love third natures beer garden. The setting is beautiful there large fire pit is welcoming and it is just a lovely place to hang out. I wish I love their beers and food as much. Their Seoul stout is good and they have a lot of variety. I just haven't found a favorite there yet. The food can be hit or miss. On our last visit, we decided to split the burnt ends only to laugh when it came out because it is so tiny. For $18 I guess we were expecting more. My husband ate the majority of it. Check out this place while on vacation visiting relatives over 4th of July. Great service, seated right away on the patio. Lovely night to be out drinking a brew enjoying the summer nights. Lots of different age groups, young families millennials, Gen xers like us. We tried the yellow elote corn dip with house made tortilla chips, very spicy, seven out of 10 really good, warned about the spice level by our server. Overall food menu looks pretty good, specialty pizzas, but we did not take part. We tried the cukes of hazard hefeweisen (strong cucumber!), Lord farquaad Quad Belgian, jeJu IPA, and BA imperial. This place is very family friendly- there were lots of small children around. The beer was delicious and so was the sweet potato appetizer. They were very busy so service was pretty slow. Waited 20-25 mins for a beer, which was the wrong beers so that took a bit. Once we got our beers (white stout for me) they were very good. We shared the Korean bbq nachos which were not a hit with the table. The pork was very fatty and almost seemed uncooked. The kimchi had great flavor though! I wasn't overly impressed with the food so I personally wouldn't eat there again. However, my brother had the black and blue burger and really enjoyed it. This was our first trip to Third Nature, and what a great night it was! TNBC has done a great job implementing the necessary steps required for restaurants in this crazy time. Everything is touchless, yet there is still ample seating and a cool environment. It is a little bit of a bummer that you have to make a reservation at least one day before your arrival to get a table, but the option to drop in and sit at a fireplace stand at a barrel is helpful. The atmosphere rocks, the staff is helpful and kind and the food is really tasty. If we lived in the area, this is a place that we could see ourselves spending a lot of lazy summer nights at, enjoying the beautiful outdoor space. Great job, Third Nature! read more

Living in Rockford, I was thrilled to hear about this new brewery opening a few minutes from my house. It's also in an up-and-coming area that is ripe for new development. The exterior is well situated and will be perfect for spring through fall, embracing all of the beautiful outdoors with nice fire pits, a hop garden, and outdoor games. They even have plastic, heated igloos for use in the winter! Driving up, the parking lot was pretty full, so that made it even more exciting. We waited about 10 minutes for a table; not bad at all for a new restaurant that still had some opening buzz surrounding it. Our waitress was super kind and eager to help us navigate the menu and make recommendations. She helped my wife pick a beer and an appetizer for us to share. For our meal, I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. I've been on a hot chicken kick for a while since I travel to Nashville for work pretty regularly. Unfortunately, this sandwich didn't make the cut for me. It took me a while to figure out my issues with the sandwich, but it involved two things. First, the batter on the chicken was too thick and pliable, I don't mind decent batter coverage as long as it's flaky and airy, but this was just too much. Second, the spice was way to paprika-forward. I like it hot and cayenne-based, and while I like paprika, this was just too much. But I don't want to bemoan that issue too much. My wife's burger was very tasty and there were tons of other things on the menu that I'm eager to try. Our calamari appetizer was scrumptious!
