We had fun golfing, but the real prize here is the club house restaurant.

This course was built in like 1955, so it is tight in a number of areas. Plenty of opportunities to lose golf balls as the are streams running all around the place and the rough is, well, the rough. One of the holes you have to walk out and see the hole out about 150 yards and guesstimate where you are going as you are about 80 or so feet above the green. A fun course with no frills and plenty of nice scenery. It appears the restaurant is only open certain times of the year as it was closed when I went here. Nice pro shop with friendly help. Give this one a try, but bring plenty of extra balls!

Although there are a few 9 hole courses in the area, Olalla Valley seems to have the most elevation changes. Many of the holes are unique and do not just run back and forth along one piece of land. The lack of bunkers and water hazards (other than the occasional creek crossing) make it playable for golfers of higher handicaps as well. Although it's not as GREEN as some courses, golf isn't supposed to be perfectly manicured. One improvement that could be made is to speed the greens up just a tad and I would throw in a few bunkers here and there, but now I'm just getting greedy. I will be back!

Visiting my uncle in Waldport on a PNW road trip from Bay Area CA and have been playing several…read morecourses along the way. Read about this one and had to check it out. 18 hole course opened up earlier this year. Newest course I've ever played. Woods up in this area are thick. Making a course from scratch in these woods is quite the endeavour. I'd say it was done quite well. Cement tee boxes on each hole. New signs on each hole. About half the holes have an amateur pin and pro pin. Both baskets are in on these holes at all times. I played on amateur and finished 2 over par. A fantastic round for me. I probably had 4-5 birdies and fell apart on a few holes with double or triple bogies. The course is very short and technical with thick woods and narrow alleys between trees. As someone with only a 250' drive, these are my favourite type of courses. Luckily I didn't lose a disc, but I did spend a decent amount of time looking for them, especially in the first few holes before I enlisted my friend to be the 'spotter.' This helped us locate the discs when they went off path. Hole 13 is confusing in terms of the mandatory right/left. The hole sign says left, but the arrows on the tree say right. Perhaps a typo. Signage is pretty good, but could be better for sure. We did get lost on one hole and walked around for a bit. Some of the holes with detailed direction signage were much more intuitive. Having the direction to next hole on every sign would have been helpful. All in all a fun course and a great addition to Waldport!

The large party room attached to the cafe is open at each end, and the party flowed out onto the patios. There were about 80 of us, and the room accommodated us easily. The food, catered by the cafe, was fresh, delicious and attractively served. The cost was VERY reasonable. Our guests had a lovely time. Good sound system! Kudos to the entire team!

We drove there one Friday this Summer, had a great time. Course appeared very nice from entry and it didn't disappoint. Check-in with COVID and everything was straightforward. There were folks there, but we didn't encounter a lot while golfing, seemed pretty quiet while out playing. Course is a bit short for me, I played from the Orange tees, probably could have played a further bit back, but I didn't know any better. I parred the first hole - a good start. Lot of small moguls throughout. We enjoyed nice weather. I liked how the tee markers were bright orange and easy to spot. Although, twice during the round we got turned around and headed the wrong way in the cart. Guess that happens a lot - as some friendly walkers pointed us in the right diretion. Looked like patio was open for beverages and the pro shop had nice merch. Think we saw the Trysting Tree at entry, it's massive and all twisted up and gnarled.
