It was a brand new credit card and the only people to have handled the card are the installer and myself. Fortunately, my credit card company coveed the charges but when I reported this to Empire, they apparently did an investigation without any input from me and decided no fraud occured and closed the ticket (without telling me). EMPIRE IS STILL USING THE SUBS and this is a warning to anyone in the Twin Cities area that Empire DOES NOT CARE they are using criminals to install their carpet. Josh was our salesperson, and was tireless, knowledgeable, and patient in working out different options and educating us about the pros and cons. We did some comparison shopping. BCO's good pricing, their responsiveness and promptness, and them doing their own work (not subcontracting) were compelling, so we went with them. After we ordered the work, BCO was able to put the job on schedule within days. The BCO installers accidentally installed the vinyl plank in the wrong area. This error also led to some other issues. When BCO realized this, it immediately acknowledged its error and responsibility, and worked to correct as soon as it could. The BCO installers were back the next day to start addressing the issues, and Eric and another employee even visited the job after their workdays, just to evaluate and determine solutions. Matt (general manager) got involved at the end to make sure that we were satisfied with the resolution. (We were!) However careful a company is, some type of error will happen sometime to that company - that's a fact of life. How the company - and the people at the company - respond sets the great ones apart. And Bloomington Carpet One, through its actions and the actions of its employees, clearly distinguishes itself as a great company!

I had called them and mentioned that I had a co-worker who used All Carpet and said he was happy with your work, I bought a new home and would like the carpet replaced prior to us moving in. He then says, "Well first off, I need some confirmation that you want to do business with us, I don't want to just go around giving out free estimates and then you go with someone else" Super confusing, why do you think I am calling? On the flip side, nobody is going to agree to work with you without a price. I mentioned that I was interested and he started to praise his crew, saying they are the amazing and he has the best 'steps' guy in the Twin Cities. Blah blah, we move forward, the installers were on time and helpful, and nice. The quality was hit or miss. The steps were actually pretty bad. loose, and they bowed out on the horizontal parts of the steps. Carpet came unsecured at the bathroom/hallway door, a 1"x2" chunk just missing on the carpet in the corner of one of the bedrooms, no pad underneath, you can see the wood floor. Basement carpet just pushed rolled under the heat registers - many spots coming detached from the stick strips or you can pull the loose carpet up 2 inches up away from the baseflooring/pad. 1/2" gap between bottom of one of the stairs' carpet and the room carpet. One of the installers was good in my opinion, our basement has couple support columns, a stove and alot of corners to work around, he did a good job. I did get the more expensive pad and carpet for this job too. Overall, just not great work all around. All talk from the guy I chatted with when calling the listed phone number. They have a year warranty on their work, about a month after install, I called them with the couple issues I noted here, I did not receive a call back.
