Claude is an awesome mechanic and wonderful person to deal with. After my friend got his alternator repaired at a fair price I noticed that I had an engine oil leak and didn't hesitate to take it in. I was on a time crunch to continue our travels and he had it done a day before I needed to leave. The repair has been working great and the price again was fair. I too was from out of town - and my insurance didn't give me a choice when we broke down coming back from the airport - they were towing me to CRG, probably because it was closest to where I was. I called ahead and told them we were having trouble, stuck out of town and trying to get home, and they were about to close but surprisingly said they would stay late to wait for us, to get towed there (which took 90 min, of course) My son picked up the family, and I stayed in town, trying to get the Van fixed so I could drive it back the next day, which was Valentine's Day. Claude went out of his way to help me so I make it home to be with my Wife on Valentine's Day (the 32nd anniversary of us starting to date!) even though, I learned before leaving, he and his wife were heading to a wake that night. Unbelievable how they were thinking of us, when so much was already on their plate. However, before I knew about that - I must have asked a thousand questions, because I didn't know if I could trust him or not. I mean, I was just towed to a random place, what were the odds they were trustworthy? For the record, Claude proved to be honest, competent, and a very polite mechanic. I wish I had checked the Yelp ratings earlier and maybe I wouldn't have been as apprehensive as I was at first, but then again, having your vehicle unexpectedly die (electrical issue) on a busy freeway in the city and waiting for a tow for an hour with the family can be a very stressful event. Friendly, honest, and reasonable, they have been my go to mechanics for 10 years now, and I'm not going anywhere else. I'm a car guy - I buy older cars which unfortunately come with more problems. I do a lot of my own work, but I just don't have the time or capability to do it all, so I'm at CRG pretty regularly. They tell me the truth and don't try to up-sell me or over-diagnose issues, which is a breath of fresh air in the auto repair industry. This place was great!! The staff was very friendly and discussed in great detail what was wrong with my Jeep. They helped me understand what was urgent and what was not, which is hard to find at an auto repair place. There prices are quite good too. Everyone else quoted me at least 100$ more than what CRG did. I will keep coming back to this place. read more

I could not speak more highly of CRG Auto Repair. My college age son recently went to Chicago for Easter and shortly before arriving in the area, a shock absorber broke. He notified me at 3:00 on Good Friday and he had to be back at school on Sunday night, for finals Monday morning. I looked up Auto Repair on the internet and CRG Auto Repair were close to the hotel. Mona answered the phone and could not have been more helpful. After hearing my story, she put me on the phone with Claude, who told me he would do what he could to help us out, gave me a ballpark cost of the repairs, if indeed I was right about the issue. The car was dropped off around 3:30 and within three hours the repairs were completed. The cost was close to the sight unseen estimate and very reasonable. If I was able to give no stars, I would. Uncle took car in for repair and after spending $1,050.00 it was not fixed. Took it back and they admitted "we might have broke something when repairing it". Took car back and almost a week later received a call stating that "we are having a hard time trying to find the part at a junkyard and a new part is $250.00." They received another call stating "car will be ready tomorrow but we would appreciate it if when you picked up your car, you never came back." Picked up car and no paperwork as to the work that was done. BBB has been notified. Save your money and don't go here!! read more
