I needed to have a transmission rebuilt on my work van. The van only had relatively lowly miles and with this unexpected failure I could not work. I called TRS and gave them the year and make and problem I was having. Mike immediately identified on the phone that the sun gear shell was a mjor source of weakness on those transmissions for that year. Mike's price was not only competative at $1700.00 for the rebuild, but he also repalced that weak part with an aftermarket part that was made of hardened steal. eliminating that manufacturers oversight. Mike was able to get the van in and had the complete transmission rebuild done in a day and a half. Mike kept me up to date with the progress and took good care of me as a customer from the time I called getting an estimate, until I left his shop. I would highly recommend TRS Automotive. Had the transmission rebuilt in my 2002 Trailblazer about 8 months ago. It has been flawless. The 12mo warranty they included does give you piece of mind. Let me tell you, the trans is upgraded from stock and pulls my 18ft glass bass boat with 150HP Merc in overdrive without missing a beat. I am extremely happy and would recommend TRS to anyone. The rebuild was completed in 1 week. A great turn-around considering how busy they seem to be. TRS also installed 4.10 gears in my '94 Formula Firebird several years ago. It can be a tricky install. I am happy to say the gears were QUIET the day of the install and continue to perform flawlessly. My only warning is they are busy. Another sign of a great shop though. People are willing to wait a couple days to have work done. read more

My family has been coming here for years, but my first experience cemented our relationship. I had an airbag sensor malfunction and the dealership said would cost $1,300 to fix. Eek! I took it to TRS and not only did he fix what was wrong for only $90 but also realigned my bumper so my car looked nicer too. He walked me through the repair process and didn't try to upsell me. I don't recommend this place at all. The manager was very short with me. when I asked questions he seemed annoyed and made me feel stupid for not understanding the problem with my transmission. I am a girl who drives a manuel, and the head mechanic blamed my concerns on my inability to drive the car properly. It was a very unpleasant experience. read more

While I personally have not had service here, I can speak to Mike being honest and trustworthy. I recently had transmission problems with my 2012 Ford Escape. I called Mike based on a recommendation from my trusted mechanic. He talked with me over the phone and rather than have me haul my car in to be serviced there and pay out of pocket, he told me that with my mileage and the age of the car, Ford should be covering this repair, most likely completely, as a warranty issue. Sure enough, that is indeed what it turned out to be - 100% warranty. He could have just as easily told me to bring my car to him and charge me out of pocket. He did not do that. So I am impressed with his honesty and truthfulness. When I need transmission work in the future, I am most definitely taking my car to TRS if it is no longer under warranty. read more

Mike is such an amazing guy. We take all of our cars to him. We know he's not going to screw us and tell us we need more work done than we actually do. I will never go anywhere else. Zero stars should be an option. Trs did a rebuilt trans under warranty on my car and it failed in a few months. Asked owner to save me all the bad parts from the rebuild. He refused to give me my car parts after multiple requests. Didn't charge me for the new work when I was more than willing to pay. Shady written all over this. Had it towed to another trans shop after job 2 and the next morning they found a pool of trans fluid under my car. I wouldn't go to TRS again if they were the last shop around. Who holds back car parts unless they are hiding something and refuses to take payment? I've been around too many blocks to be fooled by this joke of an outfit. I resent their way of doing business and wold NEVER do biz here unless you like getting run around and having your life put at risk w shoddy parts and half ass work. read more

I truly believe that this is a decent auto repair shop. It's clean, staff is friendly and knowledgeable and all the other things you want. They seem to be priced right and professional. I say all this because I'm confident that my issue wasn't a result of their work. I had my transmission rebuilt here and the end result wasn't quite right. The car drove and the transmission shifted correctly when I got it back. the only issue was that it rattled/shook more than it should've when it was in drive at a complete stop (like at a red light or stop sign). I brought it back and they were great, offered to do whatever to make sure I was satisfied. The final outcome was that due to the age and miles on the car, it would never be like "new". They offered to try a few other things to help alleviate the issue, but they didn't think it would make much of a difference. I believe what they told me and would not hesitate to go back. I just wish my situation worked out a little better. read more

Asked them to inspect three issues. They forgot about one. The second one they said they don't work on which would be fine except the same mechanic I asked if they worked on it before I went said they did, and then after the appointment the same mechanic said they couldn't check for it. The third issue they said they fixed, but did not. They looked at the issued very quickly a second time and said there was no problem. I asked if the could look at the issue they forgot about, but they said they were too busy and couldn't for two weeks. The issues weren't life threatening and I waited a week for the original appointment. I would have been fine if they just said they wouldn't be able to get to it for two weeks or just couldn't take it, but they took it when they were clearly overbooked and couldn't put the proper focus on it. I can't say they did a bad job because as far as I see no work was done. Maybe they're good mechanics when they actually work on the car, but I won't be going back to see. read more
