The starter was not available locally and the Truck Center was able to get one shipped to Knoxville. This company went way out of their way to help us. They drove us back to the campground after the RV was towed to their shop and even made a stop for ice so we could save our food. They had a driver go to Knoxville to get the part and had our RV repaired by noon the next day. They even picked my husband up at the campground and drove him back to the shop to pick up the RV. We were so fortunate to breakdown close to this business. Commercial Truck Center could not have been more accommodating. Highly recommend them for their helpfulness and great repair work.

Morristown Tire & Performance…read more I had my White 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L 4X4 serviced at Porter's Tire Store 10/29/2025 I told them I was having starting problems. So I dropped it off instead of waiting when I get a service. I had it running at the time so I drove it in & dropped it off because Porter's told me they couldn't work on it until tomorrow or the next day, I can't remember for sure. That SAME DAY Porter's called me. The battery was about 5 yrs old, according to them I didn't check it. Because winter was coming I told them to put in a new one. They stated that the battery tested bad but it started the truck every time So they didn't change it, until I insisted because of cold weather. Porter's made notes about a possible bad fuel pump but wasn't something they worked on. They serviced the truck, rotated tires & changed battery I found another ride in town, brought it home and was having more starting problems I called Morristown Tire & Performance & told them I was having starting problems Explained everything I knew & what Porter's told me They said they could fix it & look at my door issue too This was on a Thursday They told me they couldn't have it in until the next Wednesday & I couldn't bring it in until Sunday, they had a drop box. Managed to get it started & had someone follow me in on Monday morning, Showed them Porter's paperwork too & got a ride home. Like Porter's Tire Store, they called later that same Monday & told me to come pick it up Paper work reads: "Tech States Truck Started Every Time For Him. Ni Issues Found." (I believe the Ni was suppose to be No) They didn't want to work on the door because might cause more damage. (NO CHARGE) I found a ride Tuesday morning & went & picked it up. The next week it wouldn't start again. I waited & tried everyday for the next week to start it. It wouldn't start. Holidays are here with no running vehicle. I'll wait until the new year & see if I can pay a Mobile Mechanic to tell me something I already know or I'll have to pay to have it towed somewhere other than Morristown Tire & "Performance"

I'll elaborate on those specific jobs in a second. Kevin is honest, mindful of your budget limits, and a surprising rarity in the repair business. This is my first review on Yelp, I lazily came here to look up Kevin's phone number to make another appointment because he is the only auto electrical guy on my list of recommended services. 1) Okay, first job with Kevin, on a 2006 Chrysler, was when he bypassed a fault in our PCM caused by UHaul installing a vehicle matched trailer wiring harness they sold me that overloaded our taillight circuit. UHaul wouldn't stand behind the damage their part had caused. I could have gotten nasty, but I placed the blame on the part maker instead of the local people involved. Kevin first diagnosed it as a PCM replacement with the part alone running near $1000. When I asked him for options he said he would be willing to rewire that circuit and put in an inline fuse block. That repair total was under $200 and has worked flawlessly for over 6-years now. Neatest wiring work I've ever seen, including factory wiring! 2) A few years later, another one of our cars, a 2003 Dodge, produced some trouble codes that suggested the transmission control module needed to be replaced, and what I had found indicated that this might just be the start of the troubles. I took the car to Kevin and shared what I had learned from my scanner and followup research. When Kevin came back with the solution it turned out to be the car's battery needed replacing. I had Kevin order a battery and the car has been problem free for 4-years now. 3) A couple years after that, the 2006 Chrysler, blew hot air when we tried using the AC during a road trip. I picked up a test gauge at a BigBox store and concluded that the freon was low. I took it to a nearby auto AC shop where they tried adding freon then basically condemned the whole system. We were 500-miles from home, and the pitch to do the job seemed tempting except that we were not yet at our destination and we were going to a scheduled event. We considered renting a car and leaving ours at that shop, but decided to put up with it until we got back home. When I took it to Kevin, he's first reaction was that he didn't do AC system rebuilds. I asked him to check it out anyway and oversee working with another shop in his building if deep surgery or a freon adjustment were needed. When Kevin came back with the answer it turn out to be a fan relay cutting off the AC system. Kevin changed the fan and had the other shop vacuum empty and recharged the freon. AC has been as good as new ever since, going on 2-years. Background disclosure: I had worked in the new car dealer industry for about 10-years back in the late 70's and 80's. My experience concluded as General Manager of a large Mercedes Benz dealership. In the 70's I had personally owned as many as 15 cars at one time. In all my experience I have never known any auto electrical technician that could come anywhere near Kevin's expertise and honesty ethic, not one. Conclusion: Auto electrical systems is an area of car repair that can be challenging under the very best of situations. I trust Kevin, and I think you should too.

I asked him what i owed him and asked to confirm that if i bought a pcm and did not fix my truck if he was going to reimburse me for the pcm (not bought from him, he doesnt sale them) he said NO. I asked why i would pay for a guess w no guarantee behind it, owner got very rude and said "just come get your fuc*in truck buddy, you dont owe me a thing". I agreed that he had priced his services at what they were worth and picked it up with a $0.00 bill against it. Waisted 3 weeks (one i knew would be in advance) and 2 unnecessary tow bills. STAY AWAY!
