My cellphone was stolen/lost so I called the USCellular rep to stop my service and they told me that I have the replacement policy and to call the insurance team. This is were things went wrong. Somehow my replacement policy went to the TMobile side but they could not find my number. So after talking to 5 representatives on the phone and 1 hour I got a customer service to send me a replacement phone. Ok I tried to set up my phone by myself but the Customer service again put me through 5 different calls. Frustrated I went to the Clearlake USCelluar store. Josh was there to help me but he too had to go to 5 different Customer service reps and after 2 hours I gave up trying to get this replacement phone actived. So I was without a cell phone for 5 days and 3 hours of customer service with no serivice. I asked Josh what was my alternative and he suggested that I just buy a new phone in stock in the store, which I did !! Thank you Josh for all you support. You deserve a RAISE !

Contract sign up wasn't pressured, but was rushed, I don't think they realize or respect that a new contract is a multiple thousand dollar obligation and as such takes a little contemplation. (not that this retailer is different than any cell provider). I can live with this, I did my own research before going in, but if older folks are helped this way, I would expect a much higher level of frustration. By no means was it like buying a used car from a guy in a plaid sport coat, but it didn't feel like I was buying a $5000 product, it was more like a $100 purchase) The service level deserved 3 and 1/2 stars if if was available. The reason I gave three stars. The phone and tablet selection SUCKED! Nothing is in the store, you can't put your hands on the real products, just cardboard cutouts. When I spend $5000 on a phone & contract (two year plan, two phones) I want to look at and touch what it is that I'm buying. It's not just the iPhone that isn't there, almost nothing in terms of smart phones or tablets in any brand is there to touch, turn on, and try out. If you have to have an iPhone, Verizon is the only "brick and mortar" player in Clearlake.

I have observed in the past that they would not answer the phone if they were busy. So, finally I decided to go there. There were "for sale" signs on the building and it was closed. I did find a cell phone number posted on the building. I have been calling that number regularly and leaving voice mail with no response. I then called the listing agent for the property. He said he'd see what he could do. I called him again today (Jan 4) after a week. He complained that I called too often and hung up on me. I have made it clear in my voice mails that I just want my watches returned. I don't care if the batteries were replaced. Apparently, Don didn't know that Danny was closing things down when he took in my watches. Don was to have surgery the following day. They are not entitled to keep my property and just ignore me.

update, now a solid 1 star review. after a 4+ hour long outage on 10/16, there was a 14+ hour long…read moreoutage that affected hundreds if not thousands of subscribers on the northshore of Clearlake. this means people cant even call 911!! i got 2 different stories when I called into customer care, one saying maintenance one saying a fiber cut. what would remedy this? provide fail over modems. harden your network. stop putting cheap bandaids on repairs. improve your ability to repair all of your network. segment your network so outages are less impactful. work with local agencies to get Nixle notifications out to affected phone users. hold people accountable for failure to resolve network outages. lastly, i would like to see your advertised reliability metrics posted for review. i ended up buying internet service from another company and will reduce my MediaCom plan to the lowest/cheapest rate available until MediaCom can prove they're reliable.

I continue to be impressed by their installers, their customer support staff, and their ever-improving offerings. Just today, I received a free speed and equipment upgrade, combined with a reduced monthly fee, as part of a company initiative. This continues a long-established pattern of continual improvements, something Valley Internet really seems committed to. Because rural broadband pricing and speed have historically lagged urban& suburban options, I have frequently explored other providers, but every time I ended up keeping this superior service. And my Circle Oaks neighbors seem to agree overwhelmingly.
