Let me preface this review first with, I have purchased many electronics previously from this exact…read morelocation since it opened. I like that they switched to a no commission based sales model years ago and why I shop here. This most recent purchase of a laptop had less than stellar service experience and left much to be desired. I was upsold for an upgraded computer model, a credit card, and membership without real explanations other than I was getting a deal. The manager Raymond called me within a day without hesitation when I sent in my follow-up feedback response. He assured me this is not the type of business he runs and nor appropriate behavior of his associates. He went above and beyond and proved that this location strives for the highest integrity. They truly value the customers that take the time to shop in person in a world of online sales. He had Angel assist me in correcting the sales reps misstep, who wasn't even this locations employee but a fill in a from another store and just assisting for a day. Angel was also top notch. I will continue to refer people to this location as well as Best Buy based on how this situation was rectified leaving me feeling good as I walked away this time as I have in all previous interactions before this.

This review is for Best Buy (the company). The Arden location is fine but the company is horrible…read more I have never experienced a customer service process as frustrating and inefficient as the one I encountered with Best Buy. On August 5, I visited the Best Buy in Sacramento, CA to upgrade my daughter's phone at the Verizon kiosk. We purchased a new Samsung Galaxy S26 in person. Because my daughter attends college six hours away, we arranged for the phone to be picked up at the Best Buy in Cerritos, CA, and made it clear that she would be the person picking up the device. When my daughter arrived at the Cerritos location, she was told she was not listed as an authorized pickup person, despite our explaining this at the time of purchase. From there, I spent hours trying to resolve what should have been a simple issue: * I called what I believed was the Sacramento store but reached a remote customer support representative who informed me they could not transfer me to the actual store or the Verizon kiosk. Instead, I was given an 1-800 number, which turned out to be Verizon. * Verizon confirmed my pending upgrade and order but explained they could not assist with Best Buy's pickup authorization. * I then called the Cerritos location, only to reach another remote support representative. After explaining the situation again, I was told there was no way to add an alternate pickup person and that my only options were to cancel the order or drive six hours to pick it up myself. * Hoping to resolve the issue in person, I returned to the Sacramento Best Buy. The Verizon kiosk employee reviewed my order and pointed out that the notes clearly stated the phone would be picked up by my daughter. They advised that the Cerritos location should simply review the order notes. * Before making another trip, my daughter called the Cerritos store and was told that employees do not honor order notes and that only someone officially listed as a pickup person could receive the phone. * I contacted Best Buy customer support a third time and was again told there was absolutely no option to add an authorized pickup person. I requested a supervisor but was told supervisors do not accept calls. Instead, I was promised a callback within 20 minutes. I have yet to receive a call. * Ultimately, I returned to the Sacramento store a second time and canceled my order altogether. What makes this experience so frustrating is that the issue itself was not complicated. It should have taken minutes to resolve. Instead, it required: * Three calls to Best Buy customer support * One call to Verizon * One call by my daughter * Two trips to the Sacramento Best Buy * Hours of unnecessary time and frustration I would appreciate answers to the following questions: 1. Why are customers unable to speak directly with their local store when many issues could be resolved within minutes by the employees handling the order? 2. If customers cannot contact stores directly, why can't Best Buy stores communicate with one another? It seems far more efficient for the Sacramento Verizon kiosk to contact the Cerritos Verizon kiosk than forcing customers through multiple layers of remote support. 3. Why was I allowed to select pickup at another store after explaining that my daughter would be picking up the phone if there is no mechanism to authorize an alternate pickup person? 4. Why did every customer support representative simply repeat scripted responses rather than take ownership of resolving the problem or escalating it appropriately? The most disappointing part of this experience was not simply the inconvenience, it was the complete lack of ownership. Every representative passed the responsibility elsewhere, offered conflicting information, or presented only two unreasonable options: drive six hours or cancel the order. In the end, I solved the problem myself by canceling the order.

I ended up having to schedule an appointment with Best Buy with hopes of having them repair it instead. Unfortunately, my computer was too old for replacement parts. Needless to say, I was very sad! Then, I suddenly became aware that I had no choice but invest in a new one! After getting help from a helpful salesperson on the floor, I narrowed my options down to a replacement Dell slim. A much smaller and lighter version of my old antique one. I also had to purchase an updated HP printer to replace my outdated one. Since purchasing these two items were definitely not in my budget, they offered their "Best Buy" credit card with a 24 month no interest financing plan and the "My Best Buy Total" membership. Normally I wouldn't even spend the extra money on a yearly membership, (which you can cancel anytime), but it turned out to give me so many extra perks and discounts right at the time I needed them! It included set up, back up and data transfer from my old computer to my new one and then recycling the old one. Otherwise, they charge extra for most of these services. I also had my late fiancée's non-working old laptop's photos downloaded into a USB flash drive and then recycled. I also had them recycle my old printer, ink cartridges and another outdated computer that I didn't know what to do with. They also give you back your computer's data disk driver for you to destroy or keep on hand. This is an important service they provide. You should have this done prior to recycling any computer with your personal information stored on it! My only disappointment was trying to set up my new HP Smart Tank Plus printer. I spent several hours attempting to connect it to my wireless network, as I went in circles following so many steps and not getting anywhere! As I was about to give up, it finally connected! Don't ask me how I did it though! I'm still having intermittent issues! I really dreaded having to call for support or having to return it to the store after all the wasted time I spent on setting it up! If only professional home installation was included... Actually, an included direct connect cable would have been a nice alternative! Also, I didn't know until I set up my new desktop, that I no longer have the DVD and CD installation features, or a place to plug in my old speakers to the back of the modem. Once again, a feeling of sadness came over me. However, I'm starting to get used to my new computer. It's so much faster than my old one! And that's a huge plus! Never did I realize what I was missing out there in new technology land!

The owner is very passionate about music and you can tell it from talking to him. He is friendly, was chatting with all the different customers about what they picked, and even gives good suggestions! I bought a record from a band I had never heard of before (Fox Medicine). They were in the metal section but it was cute and bright pink. I looked them up quickly and listened to a couple songs and told myself I had to get that record. The owner was chatting with me about if I liked them or not and I was honest about literally just discovering them. He gave me one of their posters free of charge! They had just performed at his store and so he had a few left. I didn't realize he was giving it to me until we were leaving, I thought he was just showing me the poster. That absolutely made my day once I realized he was just giving it to me. The variety in this store is amazing with loads of vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and even music equipment! Prices are very fair, and everything is properly labeled. Instead of me having to get my hopes up inspect the record, the front usually says the condition, pressing, if it's colored, etc. I don't have to waste my time inspecting it myself, as the staff has already done the leg work. They even have a bargain bin (wall) with great deals! Down on the floor was a box that had cheap project vinyl too. When I worked at a record store I remember teachers coming in looking for the cheapest ones they could find for a various lessons they had coming up. I'm glad The Audio Nerd has a box for people like them. The store is a little bit cramped with how small it is and with how much product they carry, but it is such a gem and so fun to flip through. You can spend an hour or two easily in there despite it being a small store. Live shows even happen here! They move some of the tables out and put a band in there. Shout out Hayden for always promoting upcoming shows there! And as if this place couldn't get any cooler, they also do punch cards too... Who has ever heard of a record store doing a punch card before? Absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a cool new record store, The Audio Nerd is a great place to check out.

I stop by the Best Buy in Citrus Heights occasionally to check Pokémon card availability,…read moreconsidering there tends to be a tent city outside of the store, and my experience has been pretty mixed. LOL! Sometimes they have a decent selection of Pokémon products, such as tins, ETBs, or booster packs, but other times the shelves are completely wiped out or have only a few items left. Restocks don't seem very consistent, so it can feel like a gamble depending on when you show up. There also don't appear to be clear purchase limits at times, which makes it easier for resellers to clean out stock before regular collectors get a chance. The store itself is clean and organized, and the staff are generally polite when asked for help. That said, I'm often pitched the Best Buy credit card and membership even after I've said I'm not interested, which can be a bit uncomfortable and takes away from the shopping experience. Overall, not a terrible store, just not very reliable for Pokémon cards. If you're a casual collector, it's worth checking while you're already there, but I wouldn't rely on this location for consistent availability unless restocking and limits improve. CONS: STOP pitching me with if I need a warranty, membership, credit card. Posted signs will do! Saying "Are you sure 2x, 3x is annoying as fk." And I am sure, I don't want any. LOL! Technology now is going to be worthless 2-4years later. I'll buy a new one, if not 6 years later for even something better! Enough said.
