The technician was right on time (though he called first to alert us he might be late) and very knowledgeable and professional. He figured out our problem where the previous company hadn't even thought of that solution. Problem was fixed in no time and cost was VERY reasonable. Awesome and honest company! After the hurricane our heat and ac were coming on at the same time. I called Crystal Air & Water, their on call tech was there within the hour, found the problem, ordered the part and came back the next day to repair our system. 2 days later our tstat stopped working and again the tech was there and found we had a roof leak! The water running down the inside of the wall got into the tstat. I asked the tech if he could relocate the tstat to another wall? He had it moved and cold air back on within an hour and left No mess! read more

What crooks! Their technician was rude, charged me $600 and the problem still isn't fixed. NEVER calling them again or referring them.

Crystal Air was one of four companies that gave me a bid 2 years ago on my replacement of one of my airconditioning units. The problem was half of the house was not cooling off properly. Their diagnosis of the unit was it wasn't efficient enough nor able to handle the square footage. So yes I went with their recommendations and paid them to replace my "malfunctioning unit". Did it get better, you ask? Not!! Many visits later from crystal air and other companies reveals a problem with the duct set up!! Okay, fortunately its only an airconditioning unit that was misdiagnosed, not like cancer in the body!! It was however a 10K mistake on my part to trust these professionals on their diagnosis! The last straw came recently as a service charge of $54 kept appearing in the mail from them. Apparently it was one of their many service calls from last year that was never paid! Last year in my my frustration, I called them back to try to diagnose this problem. Well I got one of those lines from the service person that says, pay the charge or I won't look at your unit. I gave him a check but apparently its been lost??? So they bill me a year later for the lost check!! The nerve!! I am so done with this company. The manager there is no help either! read more

I joined yelp specifically to WARN my fellow consumers of just how dishonest Crystal Air Company is, so please take the time to read our story Crystal Air and Water of Gainesville Florida came to my house and replaced a thermostat. It took about 15 minutes. They charged me for parts $179 for a Honeywell 5000 2 heat 1 cool thermostat, not programmable either. You can buy this exact model at any Home depot or Lowes for about $39.00 retail! Not $179.00 like they charged us. We were told that it is the cheapest one that they carry on their truck for a replacement. In addition I was charged $69.95 for the house call plus a $5 fuel charge and they are located less then 5 miles from my house. THE BIGGEST ISSUE; When I lodged a compliant on Tuesday morning with Crystal Air and reported them to the BBB, "Curt " the owner, said he'd issue me a refund check of $79, if I dropped my compliant with the BBB. I did as he requested on Tuesday afternoon. I did not get my check thru Thursday, so on Thursday afternoon I called and I was told that the check was in the mail. On Friday I still did not receive the check, I called again and I think you know what he said..."I won't sign the check". THEY LIED TO ME TWICE. Jinnee, the secretary, also told me that the proverbial "check is in the mail" and I'm ashamed to say they took me twice; at least I didn't buy that bridge in Brooklyn. read more

Expect high mark-up and unfair added charges. Took them 8 hours to get to us but at least they got there. I told them what was wrong - they charged $70 to confirm. Charged $107 for a capacitor that I could buy for $23 (average cost) over the internet. The thing that really bugs me though is the fuel surcharge. Charged $5 and we're 3.5 miles from their shop. Come on folks, the 5x parts markup and the $70 service charge for a 15 minute repair wasn't profitable enough but you have to charge $5 for half a gallon of gas to put in your truck for a very local service call?? Doesn't leave you with that warm trusting feeling does it? read more

I called Crystal Air on Friday 5/31 to set up a scheduled appointment for Monday 6/3, they had an opening between 10am-1pm. The tech called me at 10am and arrived 15 min. later. The repair was done quickly and professionally. I had a blown capacitor on the blower fan. Their service fee was also very reasonable. read more

I've used Crystal twice to service the A/C in my condo, and it was a great experience both times. I live out of state with renters in Gainesville, and Crystal is so easy to work with. They contact the renter to schedule the appointment, often on the same day. I get a detailed explanation of the work performed and receipt for my records, always in a timely manner. And unlike some service people, they never bill me for extra work that I didn't authorize. read more

I have used Crystal Air & Water as they were the lowest bid and would negotiate when they weren't the lowest bid. They did not tell the person who came to the house the deal though, but it was straightened out quickly. I am pleased with the new a/c's which have been installed, much more energy efficient. The employees are very knowledgeable, friendly, and polite. They do offer a $50 bird dog fee on a business card form - which they do not honor. I don't feel I should have to ask again for what their offer was...I have referred them twice though, because they are the lowest for a new a/c unit. read more

Ugh, I hate to have to write this but we have had a terrible experience over all. The bright side is that they have come out even at 10pm to fix the AC (that they had installed brand new only a few months prior) when it broke a few times. But the not-so-bright-side is that they sold us an ENORMOUS unit that we did not need for our tiny little 1,300sq ft home and the machine makes a LOUD rattling sound that wakes our children up. They came out again and again to try and "fix" it but they couldn't even "find" the sound! Its been 3 years and the unit still wakes my kids up.... and they sleep with a white noise machine on. When guests come over they are shocked as we sit at the dinner table and hear a rattle from the AC closet interrupt the conversation. Today we had someone from a new company come by and tell us the problem within the first 5 minutes... overall not a good experience. I am currently trying to contact them about fixing the problem under warranty. If I have a good experience with that I will re-post. Until then... sorry to say this company gets a thumbs down from us. read more
