If you're hungry, in a group, or even just looking for a straightforward burger spot near Loyola, I'd suggest skipping Epic Burger. Our group of 12 showed up around 8pm on a Monday night, typically a slower time you'd expect to grab a bite and relax. There was a family of 8 ahead of us, so we waited in line about 20 to 25 minutes but never even made it to the register. Figuring it might speed things up, I placed a $34.06 order through the Toast app. Shortly after, a young dark haired white woman working there informed us that all orders placed at the counter were takeout only, even though the restaurant was nearly empty and there was plenty of seating. She told us we couldn't eat inside, even though the place was open until 9pm. That made no sense, especially after waiting in line and ordering food through their app. I went up to the counter to explain we didn't realize there was no dine-in and asked to cancel our order. A male worker told us to cancel it through the app. Problem is, there was no cancel option available. So, I ended up paying for food we never received, and 11 others in our group walked out without spending a dime. We ended up grabbing dinner at a chicken chain down the street, and at least there, we were served with a little professionalism and respect. The food at Epic Burger? Never got to try it. The ambiance? Unavailable. The service? Easily one of the worst experiences I've had in Chicago. If you're on a tight schedule, especially as a Loyola student, save yourself the hassle. A great spot for a halal burger. The grilled chicken and beef burger are both halal but not the rest of the meat. The burgers were brought out in less than 5 minutes. I got grilled chicken in a lettuce wrap with epic sauce. The lettuce could have been wrapped around better because it was just placed on the top and bottom which lead to the burger being hard to eat. You have the option to customize toppings and they also have a double or triple patty option. Whoa! If it's your birthday they will give you a $10 promotion which came in handy as our meal was covered. I highly recommend the Nashville hot chicken and try their epic sauce. The beef patties are incredibly juicy and yet still firm enough so that they don't instantly fall apart when you pick up the burger to eat. The accompanying sides pair well with the burgers, as the fries are both crispy and properly seasoned, while the onion rings consist of a crunchy exterior and a juicy interior (with a rather pleasant, subtle sweetness from the natural flavor of the onion).
